Crafty Sentiments # 37 Use a border punch

Well here we are Thursday again, it has come round so quickly but that means its time for another challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week Claudine has chosen the theme which is to use a border punch/punches.  I have used the extremely cute stamp of Daisy available in the store and I've coloured her with copics and touch of sakura stardust and some glamour dust.  I used the tonic studios border punch system on the mat for Daisy and for the border along the edge of my card then I added strips of white and purple card to make the punched images stand out more, the paper and buttons are papermania and the ribbon was in my stash.

So come on over to Crafty Sentiments and check out the rest of the DT work, its stunning and then play along with us, 'Go on You know You want to!'

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown #19 ~ Punches
Totally Gorjuss #49 ~ Christmas
2 Sisters Challenge #7  ~ Christmas

OSAAT ~ Anything Goes

This week the challenge over at OSAAT is Anything Goes, well incase you dont already know they have a game on a Saturday about guessing the theme of the challenge on Sunday and they show sneek peeks of the DT cards as clues, well this week none of guessed the theme and those of us who did take part were all awarded a free image as a thank you for taking part so I just had to make sure I used it this week, the image is called Grounded and I have coloured it using copics with a touch of sakura glaze (her boots) and some sakura clear stardust (in her hair), the moon is actually coloured on the computer, I have matted her onto some vellum which I embossed with a folder I bought in Exeter, the sentiment is a Daisy and Dandelion stamp which I used versamark ink and yellow mica powder (Exeter!) and then I added the wire & bead embellishement (another Exeter buy) and then I topped that with a star ct using a sizzix die which I then dipped in clear UTEE melted in my new Melting pot - yes another Exeter buy!

TFL and dont forget to pop along to OSAAT and play along with the games this Saturday, I know I'm gonna be playing.

Scrap That Idea - Challenge Forum Challenge #5 theme of Food

Only just made it in time with this digi lo for the challenge over at the Scrap That Idea forum.  It was quite a dificult challenge in that it was food based and I dont often take pics of food but then I came across these pics of Ria back in 2007 at a Scouts Fun Day, they always have a huge bonfire and do plenty of cooking, bangers stews etc and then they usually finish off with chocloate baked apples or beer batter cake to which they add chocolate and marshmallow to then put it in the fire to cook so thats what I did my lo about.  I used a lo template aswell for the first time.  Been putting it off as I wasn't sure how to use them but actually it was easier than I'd expected once I'd got the hang of it.  The template is by Vicki, aka A Work In Progress as is the kit I used which is called Artistic Moments.

feeling lucky

Well after months and months and months of entering loads of challenges it seems my time has come for a little luck and some great stash!  Just recently I have won the challenge at Spoon Full of Sugar and have 2 wonderful TGF stamps - thanks Bunny Zoe's Crafts, I have won digi images over at One Stitch At A time oh and some diecuts, frames and ribbon (not just for challenges but for their sneek peek games too), I won the challenge over at Totally Papercrafts which is $10 to spend at Digi Doodle Shop (havent spent it yet) and then tonight my blog was picked by Stacey at Scrap That Idea as a winner for flying their blinkie and I have won her latest digi kit which is gorgeous.  I am feeling very blessed at the moment, so anyone out there who keeps entering and not winning, dont give up your time will come.

I am supposed to be crafting tonight but instead I am having a sort out and shift around in my craft room, making room for the new stash I got at Exeter and trying to organise myself so that I can try and keep it all neat and tidy (well I live in hope! lol) but now its time to head off to bed as I've got an early shift tomorrow.

Goodnight all and thanks for stopping by. xx

A wedding card

I have made this card for the challenge over at Sentimental Sundays whose theme this week is Wedding and my sentiment is inside the card.  I debossed the card blank using a bigshot texture plate and the image is a freebie from Pollycraft Designs coloured with copics and a tiny touch of sakura stardust I have also outlined the nestie with clear sakura for a bit of sparkle, the little charms hanging from the white organza ribbon are a Quickcutz die and the flowers are from my stash.  The sentiment is from a Wedding Collection of digi stamps and sentiments by Sammi from a while ago now, again outlined with clear sakura stardust.  No new bits on this card as the main part of the card was finished before I went to Exeter yesterday just had to do the sentiment today!

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:

Fab Day

I have had a great day today.  I went to Exeter to the Creative Stitches show with a friend and had a bit of a spend up!  I'm now trying to find places for it all to go in my craft room! lol and I cant decide what to play with first.

My purchases include, Ranger Melting Pot, Purple Cows 13" guillotine cutter with rotary trimmer accessory (£20! thought that was pretty good) loads of little pots of glitter complete with glue with thin nozzle, (dont usually do much glittering but have been fancying it more and more so pushed the boat! lol), various embossing folders, a Go Create set of 3 dies (similar to nesties) 2 sets of sizzix cutting plates, wooden buttons, a set of iridescent micsa pigment powders, some brads and eyelets and some punches and last but by no means least a couple of hessian bags and quilting square panels from pinflair.  I'm sure you will start to see these bits coming to use in my cards in the very near future! lol  am now exhausted but very happy and looking forward to my day off tomorrow after I have been to Yeovil for crickets for Ria's dragons.

Catch up with you all tomorrow.

Crafty Sentiments # 36 Use your Scraps

Yes it Thursday again and today I am not here!  I have gone to Exeter for the Creative Stitches show and I have money burning a hole in my purse!  Hope to grab some great bits and pieces and then I still have Friday off so may even get to have a bit of a play!
Anyway I digress (its the excitement! lol) being a Thursday that means its Crafty Sentiments challenge day and today Heather has chosen the challenge and it is to Use Your Scraps, now how many of use boxes, bags or drawers of scraps then?  I certainly do and I keep adding to it and not checking it out as often as I should and the funny thing is, is that some of my scraps are actually quite big!  So this week I have used the beautiful Sitting Amy, she is available at the Crafty Sentiments Store and I coloured her with copics, I have sat her on the corner of a tag and sliced the corner away.  The background paper is a digi but as it is a scrap I cant honestly remember who its by, quite possibly its a Shabby Princess piece.  The bits of coloured card are also bits of scarps and I used my Tonikc Studios border punch system to cut the border piece then used some of the little flowers to decorate other parts of the card.  There is a tiny flower inside the buid a brad too.  Sentiment is a TGF stamp and then I added some card candy too.

Now dont forget to pop on over to Crafty Sentiments and check out what the rest of the DT have been up too, they are an extremely talented group of ladies and then check out the challenge and play along with us, 'Go on You know You want to!'

OSAAT ~ Happy Birthday

Well I was lucky enough to win a prize last week at OSAAT and I had 6th prize which was 3 new release stamps from Stitchy Bear Stamps so I just had to put one of them to use for this weeks challenge which is 'Happy Birthday'.  This image is Rainbow Cupcake by Sylvie's Designs and I coloured the image with copics and then added sakura stardust for the bling effect.  I then used diamond glaze for the icing, sentiment is a Daisy & Dandelion stamp, the paper is a digi freebie by Sweet Blossom Designs, the flowery swirl is a sizzix extended cut then a little bit of card candy in the corner.

OSAAT # 30 ~ Camerons Challenge

The challenge this week at One Stitch At A Time is to use Rainbows or the colours of the Rainbow this is because the colours of the rainbow represent Autism so go check out the blog and find out what the challenge is all about and check out the amazing prizes on offer this week too.  For my card I used a Stitchy Bear image called Butterfly Love which was a prize from the sneak peek challenge for guessing what the theme would be for the challenge so I couldnt resist using it.  I have coloured her with copics and went for the colours of the rainbow in her dress and flowers then I added some stardust for an extra bit of sparkle then I took the sparkle further buy matting her onto sparkly silver card and then the background paper is textured and glossy holographic paper so changes colour depending on how the light is shining on it, the flowers and gem are from my stash.  I had fun putting this together but struggled to get some really decent photos due to the sparkle and shine! lol

Dotties World - conditional christmas

Ok so over at Dotties World this week we have been challenged to make a Christmas card, using a charmed download of course but there is a condition - no traditional colours so no red and green.  So I have used Santa from the charming christmas collection and I have coloured him using copics in soft purply pinks to match the papermania paper, I have also used some silver mirricard a peel off sentiment and the sparkly star I had in my stash but decided to give it the cracked glass treatment then coloured over that using the same copics I used to colour Santa.

Scrap That Idea - Challenge Forum Challenge #4 Title must be a film title

Only just made it in time with this one!  The challenge over at the Scrap That Idea Forum was to use the  great freebie kit from Vicki called Blue Moon, use at least 6 of the 10 elements, (have to admit found that hard) and the title of our lo had to be the title of a film, well it wasnt til I was going thru my photos that I thought about using the classic Hitchcock movie title The Birds.  Took the photo while walking at Leysdown Beach on the Isle of Sheppey recently and couldnt resist a photo of these birds all lined up on the tops of the breakwaters,  I was aiming for some atmosphere to the photo and I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.  Quite pleased with this lo too and the blending of the photo as the main background with a piece of the blue paper from the kit.  Really must spend some time finding out more about the capabilities of photoshop so that I can get more adventurous.  TFL

Crafty Sentiments #34 Digi

Ok Its Thursday so that means its time for a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments DesigBlog and this week the theme is digi, so that gives you all plenty of scope, and dont forget the amazing images and great digi papers that are available at the Crafty Sentiments Store.  I have used Amy for my card and did some digi work with her first before printing her out.  I found a great hat image recently at Doodle Dragon Studios and I converted both images to .png images and merged them together in Photoshop Elements, I also remoed the flowers from Amy's basket.  Once I had printed her out she was coloured with copics and some sakura stardust, then mounted on to some black starry card which was part of a packet, then onto some orange cs.  The orange and black diamond background paper is a digi paper from Raspberry Road Designs and I think its the Bewitched collection.  Before printing the paper out I used the digi image of a cute ghost from Crafty Sentiments Store and repeated it and then used it as an overlay which I merged giving me the ghosts on the paper.  It really isnt as difficult as it sounds honest!  The pumpkins, little bat and sentiment are from the Daisy & Dandelion Halloween set from last year, ribbon and eyelets from my stash.

Ok so you have seen what I have made now go and check out what the rest of the awesome DT girls have made to inspire you and then pop on over the Crafty Sentiments and join in with the fun.  'Go on You know You want to!'

Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge

I have made this card with a freebie that I found at Dustin Pike's blog, I only found Dustin a few days ago when I was looking for a witches hat for another project and I found some awesome work and a challenge blog for Dustins digi images ~ Doodle Dragon Studio Challenge Blog.  Well I just had to grab the freebie he is giving away this week and use it to enter his challenge blog.  This monkey is just so cute, I coloured him with copics and then coloured the sentiment peeloff too.  Their challenge is 'Getting Fnacy ... With Folds' so I chose to make a spring card, havent made one of these for ages.  The papers are MM Cosmopolitan and then I added 2 large flowers from my stash.

Dottie at the Beach

Lucky Louise was sat sunning herself in Turkey when she set the challenge this week at Dotties World and as such she decided it would be good to set a Beach/vacation theme (keep it sunny she said) Oh and it must include a Charmed download!  Well there are some really fantastic downloads that all fit really well for this theme, just check out the DT cards to see.  Anyway I decided to go back in time to one of my early collections Fun Time Dottie to be precise and chose Dottie at the Beach who I coloured using copics and sakura stardust and glaze, I then cut her out and mounted her using foam pads onto a background using papermania paper and the sun ray technique (which I lifted from my team mate Heather from over at Crafty Sentiments who left a link to here to show how it was done.)  I also inked the background with a blue before adding the sun rays.  This I cut out using a nestie and then added this to the main card, which I again inked and used papermania paper, using foam pads.  To the main card I added some hand doodled birds! and some peeloffs.  Really enjoyed creating the little scene here.

Spotlight Anya

Well I cant believe I'm still on holiday and havent done much crafting!  Have been working on  DT stuff in the background but today I'm trying to have a crafting day as tomorrow I start sanding in the hall, stairs and landing, we took up the old carpet yesterday and took it to the dump so now we are having to go quietly up the stairs so as not to upset the neighbours!  Anyway on to my card...

For this card I have used my Spotlight Anya for the first time and coloured her using copics, not entirely happy with the hair but getting there!  The blue paper is some super shiny textured stuff that I bought a few years ago when I was doing a circle journal on magiacal & Mythical beasts and I thought it worked well for dragon skin!  It is in several different colours and depending on how the light hits it each sheet has several different colours running thru it, the patterned paper is BG Sugared and the faux stitched piece and yellow border pieces are from a bundle that came with a mini scrapbook, the flowers and beads are all from my stash.

This card is for the following challenges:
One Stitch At A Time #28 ~ Girlie or colour theme - I managed both!  The picture for the colour theme is what inspired me to use the shiny paper!
