Dotties World Challenge - Valentine

Whoo hoo a Dotties World challenge!  This time its a Valentines card so definately thought it was time Dottie & George made an appearance!  Rockin' the world with their love! I have used one of the wonderful pre-coloured images from the Rock 'n' Roll collection available at Charmed Cards and Crafts.  The paper is papermania and is from my early days of card making, still have a few oddments of the stack left!  have used nesties for cutting out and matting, the mats are red metalic paper, the sentiment I did on my computer and then finished the card off with a few Prima Tiny Tots flowers.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Card Makers # 39 ~ Hearts
Cupcake Crafts # 128 ~ Seeing Red

Dotties World - Anything Goes ~ Blue

Have you been joining in with the recent challenges over at Dotties World - I have (no surprises there really)  Anyway the rules have been relaxed and now you can use any images you want just follow the theme BUT if you do use a Charmed image then you get a 2nd entry in to the draw.  Well I definately used a charmed image this time it is Dottie dressed as a tree from the Bumper Christmas Collection and the theme this time is 'blue' so I coloured her tree costume blue and added clear and blue sakura stardust for some bling. the blue is glitter cs and the white cs I have embossed and then rubbed with blue ink.  The little trees are some brads I got a couple of years ago.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #88 ~ Blue blue Christmas

Dotties World ~ Anything Goes ~ RED

Another fabulous challenge over at Dotties World, and you dont have to use a charmed digi stamp but if you do you can enter twice.  So I decided to use a cute little image from the Sugar & Spice collection.  I used a pre coloured one and then changed the colour of her dress using wc pencils to suit the theme of RED and to match with the background paper which is from my scrap drawer and I dont know what make it is, sorry.  I have teamed the image up with a fab freebie sentiment from Sentimental Sundays.  The flowers are from my stash I actually got the red ones on a long stem from Wilkinsons and then I took them apart!, leaves are a punch and the card candy I changed to black using my trust copics!  When I first laid this card out I had the image and sentiment straight (last night) and then this morning after I had moved a couple of bits around on my desk I discovered the image and sentiment had moved on the card and I actually preferred them this way! just as well I was too tired last night to stick them down lol

Dotties World - Anything Goes

Well how could I resist a challenge over at Dotties World?! lol  Now the challenge is 'anything goes' and that also means it doesnt have to be a Charmed Digi Image but then it is Dotties World so I just had to use a Charmed image didnt I?!  Well I opted for this wonderful christmas image of Dottie & George with the mistletoe, its from the Bumper Christmas Collection and this time I used a precoloured image as it fitted with my paper which is from the new digi paper collection Chritsmas Delights by Crafty Sentiments Designs, the snowflake brads and eyelets were recent purchases at Exeter, the blue snowflakes are a quickcutz die.

I would also like to enter this into the following challenges:
Tuesday Taggers ~ Nursery Rhymes ~ I went with Georgie Porgie pudding & pie Kissed the girls, well it is George and he does have the mistletoe! lol

Dotties World - conditional christmas

Ok so over at Dotties World this week we have been challenged to make a Christmas card, using a charmed download of course but there is a condition - no traditional colours so no red and green.  So I have used Santa from the charming christmas collection and I have coloured him using copics in soft purply pinks to match the papermania paper, I have also used some silver mirricard a peel off sentiment and the sparkly star I had in my stash but decided to give it the cracked glass treatment then coloured over that using the same copics I used to colour Santa.

Dotties World - Your Favourite Charmed One

Well this week over at Dotties World Gunn thought she would set us an easy challenge - to use our favourite Charmed Download.  Thats not easy, I love soooo many of these images but I finally did manage to whittle it down and I guess this image of Holly from the World Tour collection really is one of my all time favourites so instead of making a card using her I have made a digi layout using her and a digi kit addon from Raspberry Road Designs.  As a side note I made this today while I was travelling from Dorset to London on the train at the start of my holiday - it made the journey go pretty quickly.  I am planning on printing this out when I get home and hanging it in my craft room for inspiration.

I would also like to put this in for the following challenges:
Sketch and Stash challenge #42 these are all images and papers that I have had for quite a while.
Stamp Something ~ Something Digi (its all digi)

Dotties World ~ Frame It

This week over at Dotties World we have been asked to include a frame and some dots along with our Charmed Download.  After looking thru all my downloads I settled for WaterLily Pixie and coloured her with copics and added some glitter and stardust pens, my frame is made from chipboard covered with some green paper andthen cut using a sizzix scallop frame die, I added some flowers which I also glittered (not done that before!lol).  The papers I have used are Doodlebug Inc Fun In the Sun (thats where my dots are!) and were a freebie with ScrapBook Magazine at least 2 years ago!  When I first thought about this card I was struggling to think how I was going to do it but actually it came together quite quickly once I'd chosen my papers.  Pop over and check out the DT work, its great AND there is a prize up for grabs too so go and join in!
I am also entering this card into the following challenges:
Crafty Sentiments #30 ~ use chipboard mine is the frame.

Dotties World - Going to the movies

Great theme this week at Dotties World ~ Going To The Movies.  I couldnt resist using Hitchcocks The Birds as my inspiration.  Paper is a digi from somewhere I have forgotten I have had it so long, embossed the yellow card and found some mosaic tiles in an old tub from Ria's stuff from about 8 years ago!  Sorry cant give more details as I'm off to get ready to go out but had to get this entered before it was too late.  TFL

Dotties World ~ That Summer Feeling with a Prize

Ok I have missed the last couple of Dotties World challenges due to work commitments so I knew I had to take part in this weeks although my card doesnt look particularly summery, summer is definately a good season to be fishing! (thats my excuse anyway) I have made an easel card (only me 2nd attempt) and I wanted to use a circle so make it a bit more different (for me anyway!) as this was also part of the challenge. I have used the image of George fishing from the Sporty George collection, George always manages to make me smile. I have coloured him with copics and sakura then added some diamond glaze to his hat and waders for extra effect, paper is papermania from my scraps drawer and I've added a button, peeloff lettering and a border cut using Tonic Studios punch. Now as I mentioned in the title there is a prize this week for taking part but to find out more you need to pop over to Dotties World and get the low down.

Normal service should be resumed shortly just been a bit busy getting some DT pieces sorted, really doesnt pay me to go away for a few days always so much to catch up on after! Thanks for stopping by. x

Dotties World - Paper Piecing

Ok so over at Dotties World this week Adele set the challenge to do paper piecing, this is a technique I learnt from the uber talented Louise right here at Dotties World in my early days of blogging, I had heard of it but didnt know what it was but ever since my first attempt back then with Dottie herself I've never looked back and it is a technique I use every now and again and I like the results, so this time I decided to use Holly in England from the World Tour collection, now normally I think of Holly as more sort of autumny/wintery so I decided to give her an english rose coat! I actually rather like the effect wasnt sure how it would look when I started! The paper is papermania signature range Blueberry Hill and I also used paper from the collection to paper piece her hat, boots and umbrella then I added glitter to her scarf/top and coloured the rest with copics. I sponged some ink around the edge of the image as the white was too stark then I added some card candy, flowers and a handbag charm, the sentiment is from TGF Spotlight set. Ria has already claimed the card for a friend she walks to school with who is moving at the end of this school year and apparently she is after a coat just like this one! TFL

Dotties World - Fathers Day Card

Louise set the challenge for Fathers Day over at Dotties World and then Karen offered a free Fathers Day bundle for all those who were going to take part in the challenge this week. Well I nearly always take part in Dotties World challenges, they are what got me started with my blogging and I just adore ALL the images that Louise creates (and yes I have them all! lol) Anyway when I saw the bundle I knew exactly what card I wanted to create and here it is, my pop up Fathers Day card using 'Super George' which isnt actually part of a collection I think it was a participation gift (see I said I had 'em all! lol) and I just think he is adorable and fits perfectly with the 'SuperDad' sentiment. The cloud paper is from a digi kit by Digi Designs By Nicole (DDBN) which was a freebie I collected awhile ago, the other papers are Papermania and some red pearlescent card from my scraps drawer, the little screw head brads have been in my stash a long time and were part of a brad swap I took part in. Well I hope you like the card, thanks for stopping by and taking a look. xx
PS. I took 3 shots to try and show the front and inside of the card and that it was a pop up!

Dotties World - Easel Card & Sketch and Stash #36

Well I'm home alone tonight and enjoying every minute of the peace and quiet with no interruptions so I settled down to some crafting hoping I'd get several cards made and catch up on some challenges but I have only managed to make one card but it is for 2 challenges! What started out as a fairly simple straight forward card took me ages to decide on the papers and then I decided to stick all the little punched out flowers on to the card too and boy did that take me a while! Anyway here is the finished card and its my first easel card too! TFL

Dotties World - Easel Card with a charmed download of course! I have use the thistle pixie which is pre-coloured so I added some sakura stardust for a touch of bling to her dress and headdress too. Over at Dotties World there is also a link to a great easel card tutorial although I think most people now know how to make them I'm a bit behind!

Sketch and Stash # 36 - used the sketch for the top part of the card and the stash is all neglected, the papers are from the Artylicious Fantasy Floral cd which I have had for a couple of years now and hardly ever use (keep forgetting I've got it!) cs is some I have had for ages and flowers and brad are all from my stash.

Oh well hopefully back tomorrow with more, especially as I'm now on holiday for a week - yipeeee! lol

Also just found out it fits nicely with another challenge too,

Crafty Sentiments which is to punch it! Lots of little punched flowers there and also the border punch too.

Stamp Something - 2 of Something - 2 buttons and 2 pieces of wire.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #84 - no patterend paper, once I decide that I couldnt get my pp to work this came together quite quickly. cs is coredinations and a little mirriboard, have used the daisy cuttlebug embossing folder and my tonic studio punches to add detail.

Dotties World - Thanks a Bunch - thank you card using Hippy Dottie from the Rock til you Drop collection.

Pollycraft Monday Challenge #45 Buttons and Butterflies, got them both.

Hopefully get more crafting time next week as its half term and I've got the week off! really looking forward to that as work as been pretty hectic recently. TFL

Dotties World - A Sketch

The challenge over at Dotties World this week was a sketch and the DT made some absolutely gorgeous samples to inspire us. I decided I would use this sketch to make a digi scrapbook page and as I have recently taken delivery of Photoshop CS4 which is a much more fuller program than photoshop elements but it is also a lot more complicated as all the little things like drop shadows are not where I was expecting them! but I did finally manage to complete the layout and also made an edge round the circle that I hope looks a bit like its been inked and I gave some texture to the red circle using overlay and blending bits that I didnt know about. (I'm self teaching can you tell! lol) Anyway the images are all from Charmed Cards & Crafts (of course!) and the papers and elements are from a kit called Ivy League by by Stacey Towers aka Scraps by Stacey. Dotties World - Flowers & Friday Sketchers #101

2 challenges completed with this card. Dotties World is asking for flowers and a Charmed download so I have used a pre coloured Madison on Safari from the Round the World collection, papers are Basic Grey Sugared, flowers from my stash, a bit of card candy! and the leaves were cut with a punch and then I used 2 different green ink pads and stamped over them to give them some definition. The card is then based around the sketch this week over at Friday Sketchers who are celebrating their 2nd anniversary with a fabby blog hop so go check that out too. TFL

Dotties World - Pocket It

When I saw the challenge this week over at Dotties World where Louise had said ... This week I'd like you to fill your pockets! :) In other words include a pocket in your creation, I don't mind what you put in it as long as the pocket is there....if you are sending it to me £10 notes work well :D. Dont forget Dottie's World challenges MUST include a Charmed download! ... I knew exactly what type of pocket I wanted to do! I remembered quite sometime ago making a herringbone card following Louise's video tutorial which you can find here so I made another one. My papers are from the Wonderful Winter glittered collection from MME and I used Shop til you Drop Dottie. This card is for my sister and I have put a next card in the big pocket. Image coloured with copics - what else!lol and ribbon from my stash which I think is American Crafts. TFL
