Oh Happy Day

Well I'm just about to head off to bed but just wanted to share a couple of things with you.  It was my birthday and mid morning I received this wonderful cup of coffee and I have to say it stayed smiling to the very bottom!  Definitely made me smile!  I received 2 packs of copic pens from my awesome sister and on Friday I'm off to the Range and a local craft shop for a bit of a spend up!  (rubbing hands with glee! lol) 

And my other piece of Happy News is that I have joined the Divas By Design DT as part of Team B, unfortunately not in time to join in with this weeks challenge, which you can find here  but I am looking forward to being a part of this fabulous group of ladies who have already made me feel very welcome.

So on that happy note I am off to bed, going shopping tomorrow to hopefully get my present from my DOH of a pair of DM's followed by a trip to the dentist :-(  at least I'll have Friday to look forward to!

Buttons & Bows at Crafty Sentiments

Another challenge that we know you all love, Buttons & Bows is what we want to see this week over at Crafty Sentiments and don't forget if you enter the challenge using a Crafty Sentiments image then you will get entered into the draw TWICE!  For my card I have used one of the latest new digi releases which is available in store at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  Coloured with my copics and matted on to a Kraft cs scalloped circle, the gingham paper is Bearly Mine Designs, the sentiment and little pins were all cut with the Cricut and I finished off with a metal mesh ribbon bow and tiny heart button.  This cute little bear is just so versatile.

Blue Valentine

Actually I had originally planned for this to be more blue than it eventually turned out! lol  The image is a darling valentine freebie from Saturated Canary, isn't she just adorable, I have coloured her with copics and added some stardust (but you can't tell in the pic) for the frills around the hearts, she is matted onto pink cs then onto blue mirriboard which has been tribossed then mounted onto patchwork paper from Bearly Mine Designs and finished off with some punched and die cut hearts.

A masculine card

Picked up my copy of the DoCrafts Creativity magazine yesterday and tonight was my first chance to have a play with the stamps so I used the main image and stamped it in a dark espresso ink and then also rubbed some of the ink over the image to take off the glare of the white cs.  The rest of the papers are from DCWV Natural stack with foil, I also double embossed the stripey panel using a clock face folder and some clear pigment ink and clear embossing powder so not only is it foiled its also glazed and in the right light the coppery lines really do shine quite orangey and brightly, shame I can't seem to be able to catch that well with the camera.  The border die cut I have had for a while and I finished off with some Spellbinders cogs and a stamped sentiment.

Dressy Ebony

Today I was looking for an image to use so that I could join the sketch challenge over at Anyone For Anya and I remembered this lovely image of 'Dressy Ebony' one of the digi Wild Sprouts from TGF, I've always liked this image and used it lots in the past so thought it was time she had an airing again!  Coloured with my copics of course!  Brown cs is embossed with a Sizzix texture plate and everything else is from my stash and the little butterflies are a Tonic Studio punch.  Decided not to add a sentiment as this card can be used for anything really so might add one when I know what I'll be doing with it.

And I'm not referring to the snow either!  Our Creative Corner has an interesting challenge this week that I just had to have a go at.  All white with a decorative edge ... now this wasn't the easiest of challenges, I like WOW cards but wanted to push myself a bit which started by thinking about the decorative edge, usually use my border punches then remembered the  TH cogs edge and then it all just happened from there.  I have made this with Ria in mind and her love of steampunk.  I stamped the sentiment first in black ink and then stamped the dressmakers from in clear pigment ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder, it doesn't show up brilliantly in the first pic so I added the close up, embossed white cs with folder from Darice and added ribbon and a pearl.  Love how this turned out and have some other ideas forming in my mind (have added them to my ideas book too! lol lest I forget!)  Hope you like it, Ria loves it!

A simple Thank You

When I sat down to make this card all I knew was that I wanted to try out the colour combo for the challenge over at JUGs this week which is Grey, White and Lime Green.  Not a combo I generally use but I really liked the DT samples!  I pondered what to do for a while then decided to let loose with my Cricut and this is the end result, which I think I like! lol  The grey cs has been embossed and all the green and white cs has been cut on the Cricut using Paperlace cartridge.  Finished off with some ribbon from my stash.

Fragile ...

...Handle with care!  I'm sure we all know someone who needs a little handling with care every now and again!  I love this image 'a little bit grumpy' from the Paper Shelter and thought this sentiment went well! lol  I have coloured with my copics paper is from PM Happy Days pad and I have distressed and inked the edges.  Sentiment and ticket die cut are Die-namics and finished off with a little lace, antique silver eyelets and twine from my stash.

Especially for You

Thought I'd share a card I've made with the second of the 2 new digis from Crafty Sentiments Design. (check yesterdays post for the other image) This little fella is called 'With Love'.  Now when I saw those gorgeous patchwork balloons I just knew that I needed to pop over to Bearly Mine Designs and pick up their Patchwork Party paper pack, been umming and ahhing over them for a while!lol  I went for lilac and lemon, it's not a combo I use very often but I do like it.  As well as the patchwork paper I have a patchwork tribossed panel and a tribossed hearts panel (but they are both a bit hidden!)  Lots of layering on this one and of course the colouring is with my copics, finished off with a little silver sentiment and some yellow gems.  These new digis are just adorable.

Cute new digis at Crafty Sentiments

Well Crafty Sentiments Designs has 2 new digi images available in the store and they are just so adorable.  Great for all occassions but especially for Valentines! lol  Today I have used 'Bundle of Love', coloured with my copics.  The heart patterned paper and heart border die cut are also from Crafty Sentiments Designs, the gingham is from a very old K&Co Brianna pad, the heart checker board is a Triboss embossing folder from Papermania, finished off with a little gold peeloff sentiment.

Oooops

I'm late with my card for this weeks new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments, thought I'd sheduled but obviously not! :-(  So better late than never...  This weeks challenge is 'Winter Fun' and after showcasing all those wonderful new stamps I decided to use one of our older stamps, this one is 'Gone Sledging' which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  Coloured with copics and some glamour dust added.  Background is from Bearly Mine Designs also with glamour dust added.  Added the 'parcel' with a stamped sentiment and little red bow.  Now the question is do I use it for a winter birthday or shall I be really organized and use it as my Christmas card make! lol  Don't forget to check out the work by the rest of the awesome DT.

A little birdie

Well today I got in from work at around 4.30, MIL turned up for a cuppa and after she went I kinda fell asleep!  Anyway awake again around 7 had some tea and by 8 was ready to craft so after catching up with some blog hopping and facebook etc I finally set to making a card and this is what I came up with.  I used 'Canary Love' a freebie a while back from Saturated Canary but first time I've used her (not the last though! lol), she is coloured with copics, paper is from Bearly Mine Designs, sentiment is computer generated then the ribbons, buttons and flowers all from my stash.

Feeling a little blue!

For this card I thought I'd try and go completely blue but when colouring the skin it really didn't work, looked like an alien had landed so had to start over! lol - it really was scary!  I used one of my TGF stamps 'Flirty Anya' haven't inked her up in a while.  So I chose to stick with skin tones but did keep to blues for her hair which I am happy with the way it turned out.  Background is embossed with a sizzix texture plate, ribbon, ribbon slider, oval pearls, flowers and pearl leaves are all from my stash.  A happy  blue card!

Jasmin Feathers

Oh look at me 2 posts in one day, haven't managed that for a while! lol  Anyway I just had to share this as its release day of the wonderful new stamps over at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  Have you taken part in our 3 day hop yet?  If not scroll down to my previous post and grab all the details.  Anyway onto my project.  I have used the fabulous new stamp 'Jasmin Feathers' coloured with copics and stardust.  Papers are Bearly Mine Designs and the pattern for the bag are on the DVD that came with my new CC Ultimate Pro.  I have also decorated the inside and made a little pocket for a gift card.  I have adapted the design very slightly and made the flap opening whereas the original project the flap is faux.  I have used small strips magnetic sheet to hold it closed and added a button and some organza ribbon as the opening.

Ok so onto my card for today, I have used Primrose ~ 60's Fashion.  My paper is from Raspberry Road Designs and I used it for the colour inspiration.  Primrose is coloured with copics and a tiny bit of stardust.  The sentiment is also a new release from Crafty Sentiment Designs, the flower and button from my stash and the leaves are a die cut.

I want to ride my bicycle ..

Well not me personally, I'm not feeling that energetic! lol  But I did think I'd have a play with this wonderful image from Crafty Sentiments Designs.  The idea for this card came from my New Ideas Book on my desk which uses the same paper (First Editions) and from my newest Cricut cartridge Bloom (also on my desk!) and the end result is what you see here.  I have coloured with my copics added some gems and calendar block and hey presto!  I know its not a complicated creation but I am really pleased with how it turned out! lol

A bright and cheery little bookmark

This weeks challenge over at Anyone For Anya? is bookmarks.  Now I haven't taken part in one of their challenges for an absolute age and I love my TGF stamps (not that I have that many, but I love the ones I do have!) and after a quick look through them I decided on my stamp and quickly decided on my paper so I used the paper colours as my inspiration, so much so that I even glittered the white stripes between the colours to match the glittered stripes on the paper which is DCWV glittered stack.  The ribbon is from a Christmas present and was going to get chucked out till I laid claim to it! lol so hey presto my bright and cheery bookmark.

NEW!

Happy New Year everyone and yes that's what the challenge for this week is all about over at Crafty Sentiments ~ 'NEW!' now that can be new home, new baby, new job, new stash, as long as its new it works!  Now when I was thinking about what to do I had an idea for something totally different and I find this often happens when I'm crafting, I find myself doing something and then thinking to myself if I did such'n'such I could get this effect etc etc but then when the time comes I can never remember what I thought of or I write it on a scrap of paper on my desk and end up losing it!  So with that in mind I decided to make my self a 'New Ideas' book so I could jot the ideas down and not keep forgetting or losing them! lol  I used a shopping list style note book and covered it with some glittery paper by First Editions from the Hideaway pad, I also used papers from the pad for the vintage label die cut (Crafty Cutters @ Crafty Sentiments Designs) and the mat and leafy branch.  My images are Hitting the Books and Stairs and Books both of which are available over at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  Coloured with copics and some 3d glaze added to her glasses.  Finished off with some lettering using a sizzix extended cuts die and some yellow gems and I also added notes about the project that I thought about originally! lol  So this notebook sits on my desk ready for my 'new ideas'  Hope you like it and the good thing was that the note book only cost £1!
