Great theme this week at Dotties World ~ Going To The Movies. I couldnt resist using Hitchcocks The Birds as my inspiration. Paper is a digi from somewhere I have forgotten I have had it so long, embossed the yellow card and found some mosaic tiles in an old tub from Ria's stuff from about 8 years ago! Sorry cant give more details as I'm off to get ready to go out but had to get this entered before it was too late. TFL

a gift
I have made this book as a gift for our neighbours who are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary, it is actually today but they are having a big party tomorrow to which we have been invited so I have made this book so that people can leave them messages and they will then have a keepsake of the occasion. They dont know about the book and I have given it to their daughter so that it can be at the party ready for guests when they arrive. They have specified no presents so I thought this would be nicer than nothing and its something everyone can be involved in. I kept the whole decoration quite simple, I have used cream glittered card for the cover and the tags which are actually all cut from mountboard and then covered, the tags have been inked with gold ink, the flowers are from my stash (from a recent blog candy) the leaves were punched and then I added the names and corner peeloffs and some gold and cream organza ribbon.
Inside I have typed a front page which I then mounted on to more of the glitter card and then finished off by adding some more corner peeloffs. I must say I am pleased with the end result and I took my time as I really didnt want to make mistakes with this one! It doesnt look like it took me ages but I spent forever working out colours and then trying to work out the best placement of the tags was a real nightmare! and as for the flowers I tried sooooo many different combinations of numbers and leaves you wouldnt believe! lol Well thanks for stopping by and looking. It was nice to use my bind it all as havent used it in a while!, mind you I think Ria has got plans for making books as gifts for friends for christmas so could be getting busy with it soon! lol xx

My first project is this picture frame which I have made from scratch (tutorial to follow soon over at the crafty Sentiments Digi Design blog) and I have used the adorable Pat sat dangling her feet in the water. I added diamond glaze and glitter to the water for more effect and Pat is coloured in using copics. I would also like to enter this frame into the following challenge;
Stamp Something ~ Flowery
My second project uses the gorgeous image of Boo Bear with his ballons and for this I decided to make an envelope bag (I know they were popular a while back but I never got round to making one then so felt it was about time I gave it ago!lol) Anyway I have coloured Boo using copics, the papers are all My Minds Eye from the Bloom & Grow collection and the sentiment is TGF from the Spotlight collection, the eyelets and organza ribbon are from my stash. Dotties World ~ That Summer Feeling with a Prize

Ok I have missed the last couple of Dotties World challenges due to work commitments so I knew I had to take part in this weeks although my card doesnt look particularly summery, summer is definately a good season to be fishing! (thats my excuse anyway) I have made an easel card (only me 2nd attempt) and I wanted to use a circle so make it a bit more different (for me anyway!) as this was also part of the challenge. I have used the image of George fishing from the Sporty George collection, George always manages to make me smile. I have coloured him with copics and sakura then added some diamond glaze to his hat and waders for extra effect, paper is papermania from my scraps drawer and I've added a button, peeloff lettering and a border cut using Tonic Studios punch. Now as I mentioned in the title there is a prize this week for taking part but to find out more you need to pop over to Dotties World and get the low down.
Normal service should be resumed shortly just been a bit busy getting some DT pieces sorted, really doesnt pay me to go away for a few days always so much to catch up on after! Thanks for stopping by. x

Scrap That Idea - World Cup Promo Final Challenge

Ok here is my layout for the Final Challenge over at Scrap That Idea and this time Vicki made us a beuatiful kit called So Pretty and the challenge was to scrap ourselves! Gulp, I hardly ever do this unless its a specific challenge so I had to look long and hard for a pic of me that I was willing to share! lol Well I found one from 2004 and here is my layout. Kept it simple (bit like me really!lol) Thanks for stopping by back later with that news but got to do some very boring ironing for a while!

PaperTake Weekly - Sketch #44

This card is for the sketch challenge this week over at Papertake Weekly, my papers are digi by Raspberry Road Designs and are the freebie add on to the Raspberry Tea kit, I added buttons from my stash and a bit of scrap card. The image is TGF Hope & Grace Classy coloured with copics and stardust but you cant really see the bling of the stardust. The little button embossed border is a cuttlebug border folder. The sentiment is a freebie stamp and when I stamped it I didnt get my colour even so I rescued it by going over it with a stardust pen (wish I'd thought of doing that before! lol) TFL I'll be back tomorrow with some exciting news! Bye for now. xx

PaperTake Weekly - In Stitches & Crafty Sentiments #25

When I was checking out Crafty Sentiments this morning for the new challenge they have a new free digi image available and it is just so cute that I had to make a card using Flopsy who you can grab here.
Papertake Weekly ~ In Stitches ~ my paper is where my stitches can be found, printed I'm afraid, was going to get the machine out til I realised I had this paper! Papers are Doodlebug Design Inc Sunny Doodles, Patch of Posies and Bloomin Stripes and they came free with ScrapBook Magazine a couple of years ago now I think!
Crafty Sentiments #25 A Sketch ~ Used the Flopsy image and couldnt decide what colour he should be so opted for a white bunny enjoying raspberry and chocolate icecream, the sentiment is from TGF Roll Call collection and the flower is from my stash.

Another 2 challenges met with one card tonight.
PollyCraft Monday Challenge #50 Pinkalicious ~ I used a PollyCraft Friday Freebie image called Flo The Simple Things and she has been coloured with copics and sakura stardust and glaze and matted onto some coredinations gemstone cs, paper is from the DCWV glitter stack, gems, flowers and ribbon all from my stash
Sketch Saturday #110 ~ another wonderful sketch , really enjoyed working with this one, definately one to use again.
Well thats me done for the day, am off to bed now hoping to squeeze some crafting in tomorrow around the chores! TFL
Crafty Sentiments #24 Birthday Theme & Spoon Full Of Sugar #110 Animal Crackers

Well I made this card this morning for 2 challenges and it was a bit of challenge for me too as I dont very often do shaped cards but I had some freebies this month with PaperCraft Inspirations so thought I'd try and put them to good use!
Crafty Sentiments #24 Birthday Themed ~ well its certainly birthday themed and although you dont have to at the moment I have used a Crafty Sentiments image which was a freebie digi called Sammy Snail (this is the 3rd time I've used this image and each time I have differed its use slightly which just goes to show how versatile digi images can be) the shell is cut from some coredinations cs using my nesties then a peeloff sentiment added, other papers are from my scraps drawer.
Spoon Full Of Sugar #110 Animal Crackers ~ my animal is the cute Sammy Snail from Crafty Sentiments.
TFL hopefully be back later after we've been to town.

Dotties World - Paper Piecing

Ok so over at Dotties World this week Adele set the challenge to do paper piecing, this is a technique I learnt from the uber talented Louise right here at Dotties World in my early days of blogging, I had heard of it but didnt know what it was but ever since my first attempt back then with Dottie herself I've never looked back and it is a technique I use every now and again and I like the results, so this time I decided to use Holly in England from the World Tour collection, now normally I think of Holly as more sort of autumny/wintery so I decided to give her an english rose coat! I actually rather like the effect wasnt sure how it would look when I started! The paper is papermania signature range Blueberry Hill and I also used paper from the collection to paper piece her hat, boots and umbrella then I added glitter to her scarf/top and coloured the rest with copics. I sponged some ink around the edge of the image as the white was too stark then I added some card candy, flowers and a handbag charm, the sentiment is from TGF Spotlight set. Ria has already claimed the card for a friend she walks to school with who is moving at the end of this school year and apparently she is after a coat just like this one! TFL

Sketch & Stash Challenge #38 & Spoon Full Of Sugar #109

Here is the card I was working on last night but just got too tired to finish it so have now finished it, I'm lovin' my new stamps!
Sketch and Stash #38 ~ great sketch I used a digi paper which I think is a Rasberry Road Design but it was in my scraps drawer so not sure, coredinations cs, some ribbon from the cheapy shop, the little tags are cut using my sizzix doodle tag alpha, which I seem to forget I have, the little flowers are punched from a scrap of paper from the drawer and the gems are from my stash, my new item is the delightful TGF Nahla from the Roll Call collection who is coloured with copics and a little sakura stardust.
Spoon Full Of Sugar #109 ~ Good Luck/Best wishes I used a little best wishes peeloff which fitted nicely on the tag.
Well thats all my crafting for tonight as Ria has gone to a camp out so I am going to the beach with Adrian while he does some fishing and I'm going to take the camera and hopefully get some good shots of the sun going down and even more hopefully some fish for lunch tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend. xx

3 challenges in 1 card

Well I was very good today and didnt start crafting till tonight even though I really wanted to! Thought I'd better do some hw seeing as I'm working all weekend, but I have now sat and crafted and used some of my new rubba! I have used TGF Wild Sprout Maria and inside my card which I didnt take a pic of is the sentiment 'time to follow your dreams' I used this as this is a card for a work colleague who is leaving on Sunday and going back to Slovenia to be with her boyfriend. Anyway this card is for the following 3 challenges:-
Papertake Weekly ~ sketch #43 the papers I used are K&Co McKenna and Maria is coloured with copics and I added some glamour dust to her dress collar and some dew drops to the flowers in her hair.
Cute Card Thursday #118 ~ reuse, renew, recycle and for this challenge I have included the buttons which came of a garment ages ago
Stamp Something ~ Vintage with flowers so I sanded and inked the edges of the paper and then sponged some ink around the image to remove the glare of white paper and the flowers are from my party bag candy.
Well TFL I'm off to see if I can fit another card in before I go to bed. x

Friday Sketchers # 107

Another great sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week and I'm only just making it too! My papers are MME Bloom & Grow, flowers are from my stash, the image is from Dreams 2 Stamp and is called Annelise with goose it is one that I won last October. The swirl at the bottom is actually what was left after I had used a sizzix die on another project and I really liked what was left so decided to keep it in the hope that I would find a use for it one day and hey presto! I did!lol, actually all the pieces of paper are actually scraps from that collection. And amazingly for me my desk is still tidy! lol TFL x
Rubba fest!
Yipee, my wonderful TGF stamps have just arrived and they are gorgeous BUT Boo Hoo I have to go to work, its so not fair all I want to do now is sit and play! :( Oh well at least I have a day off tomorrow!
Hopefully back later tonight with a card that just needs putting together for a challenge so am aiming to do that when I get back from work tonight. Bye for now

Stamp Something ~ Something Summer

Well this card should have been for 2 challenges but I missed the deadline for Cute Card Thursday this week which was a sketch - never mind it still fits the challenge over at Stamp Something who this week want to see Something Summer, which I believe I acheived with the gorgeous summer Miss Anya, coloured with copics and a touch of sakura glaze, the papers are from the M&MBI paper pad. Sentiment cut with my Neon alpha long cuts sizzix die, the little prima flowers have been in my stash for quite sometime and then I added some dew drops.
Well I know I said I had a day of sitting at my desk today, well I did but I didnt actually get much done in the way of crafting but I do have a tidy crafting desk now so have room to craft again! that took me quite some time I can assure you! lol Also did a little bit of shopping and popped over to 'Silly Monkey Crafts' for a browse and well can you believe it but some stamps just happend to fall into my basket! Anyway I shall now be stalking the postie eagerly awaiting the arrival of TGF Roll Call and Spotlight collections. hee hee! Right off to see if I can rustle up another card before bed time. TFL
Anya Ink #3 Bling

Ok this project which is for the Bling challenge over at Anya Ink I had finished last night except for the flower button which I decided at the last minute to add diamond glaze after I had coloured it with sakura stardust. So I had to add the button and take the pic this morning before Ria took it to school for her friend for her birthday! (yes I had plenty of notice Monday night!lol) Unfortunately the pic doesnt really show the glitz and bling of the glitter or stardust but using flaxh only gave me glare! The paper is from the DCWV glitter stack, the image which is coloured with copics and stardusts is a digi download of Audrey from TGF, then I added the card candy, 'celebrate' and glazed button to the outside of the glass. The lettering inside the glass says 'randominated' which the girls made up as Ellie is very random and we thought the pattern on the paper was also quite random. Hope it goes down well today.
Anyway I have a day off today and somehow I have managed to bruise my heal and it hurts to walk or stand so looks like I'm desk bound today - oh what a shame! lol

Crafty Sentiments #23 & Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #88

A 2 challenges in 1 card project today, started it last night but couldnt quite get it to come together and not sure I'm entirely happy with it now! but it did seem to 'come together' this morning which it had no intention of doing last night! lol
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #88 ~ weddings/anniversaries fairly self explanitory there! lol
Crafty Sentiments #23 ~ a sketch. I turned the sketch around so that I could use 'Sammy Snail' again this week, this is the freebie image that is available over at Crafty Sentiments blog. I manipulated the image so that I could flip it then paperpieced the shells and coloured the rest in with copics. The papers are Papermania Signature range Regency, the ribbon I have had in my stash forever and its self-adhesive. The little green hearts are done using a Tonic Studios punch and the brads were in my stash.
TFL and now its time to get sorted out for work.

PaperTake Weekly - Ice Cream Flavours

Great challenge this week from Papertake Weekly to use Ice Cream Flavours for your inspiration so I went with Neopolitan. My papers are MM Cosmopolitan collection, brads and flowers are from my stash and I embellished the flowers with some dew drops from my party bag, the image which is a Pure Innocence image is also from my party bag and I coloured her with copics and bit of sakura stardust for the flowers, sentiment is from a pack I got at the Works the other day. I also based my card on PTW sketch from last week as I didnt get the chance to use it in time! TFL x

Sketch & Stash Challenge #37 & Pollycraft Monday #48

Another card tonight and its for another 2 challenges!
Pollycraft Monday Challenge #48 ~ lets have a sing song - We'd like to see a project inspired by a song... so use a song title/lyrics as your sentiment... or create your card with a song in mind... Well my card is inspired by the song 'We are Family' by Sister Sledge and the freebie image from PollyCraft Designs suited it perfectly, coloured with copics and I had another try at feathering on her skirt.
Sketch and Stash #37 ~ well my card is based on the sketch and I have used MME papers from the Wild Asparagus collection and my new stash is the flowers which are from my party bag and the old stash is the pale lilac lace.
TFL and now I'm off to bed, night all. xx
Crafty Sentiments #22 & Sketch Saturday #108

This card covers 2 challenges and because Crafty Sentiments changed their challenge rules to allow any stamps to be used and also because they are giving away a free digi image here I was able to take part again in their great challenges.
Crafty Sentiments #22 Black, Pink & White ~ papers are Dovecraft A Hint Of Pink and some pink cs, the image is their freebie 'Sammy Snail' and I have used a pink flower from my party bag stash that I won and 2 little ribbon flowers from my stash.
Sketch Saturday #108 ~ Card made following this weeks sketch, as soon as I saw it this morning I knew I had to use it with the image I had chosen for the CS challenge!
TFL off to do some more crafting!
Parcel in the post

Good Morning Blogland! Well I had a nice lie in this morning (doesn't happen very often!) and I didn't get up till just gone 10! Lovely! lol Then the postman delivered a scrummy parcel to my door, what better way to start the day! The parcel was my Party Bag Candy from the Sketch Satruday Blog Hop on the 29 May. I have won a beautiful handmade bag which is full of wonderful stash. So I have to say a very big thank you to Emma for such a divine party bag and I'm really looking forward to putting all these things to very good use and some of them very soon! Definately a great way to start the day! xx

Dotties World - Fathers Day Card

Louise set the challenge for Fathers Day over at Dotties World and then Karen offered a free Fathers Day bundle for all those who were going to take part in the challenge this week. Well I nearly always take part in Dotties World challenges, they are what got me started with my blogging and I just adore ALL the images that Louise creates (and yes I have them all! lol) Anyway when I saw the bundle I knew exactly what card I wanted to create and here it is, my pop up Fathers Day card using 'Super George' which isnt actually part of a collection I think it was a participation gift (see I said I had 'em all! lol) and I just think he is adorable and fits perfectly with the 'SuperDad' sentiment. The cloud paper is from a digi kit by Digi Designs By Nicole (DDBN) which was a freebie I collected awhile ago, the other papers are Papermania and some red pearlescent card from my scraps drawer, the little screw head brads have been in my stash a long time and were part of a brad swap I took part in. Well I hope you like the card, thanks for stopping by and taking a look. xx
PS. I took 3 shots to try and show the front and inside of the card and that it was a pop up!

Scrap That Idea - World Cup Promo challenge 2

Wow, I am so behind this week, really havent had the time or the energy for crafting :( but made up for that tonight by completing the 2nd challenge over at Scrap That Idea World Cup Promo. Again we were given a freebie kit designed by Staceys Scraps and the challenge was to use 3 different papers and 10 different elements - sounds easy Huh? Nope I really struggled to use 10 different elements but got there in the end, hope you like what I ended up with. The picture is taken at our local seaside venue and it was late afternoon/early evening on Christmas Day 2009, we went for a stroll and I went a bit mad with the camera and this was just one shot of many but I really like how it captured the sunset thru the clouds. TFL

MTTC #94 Wild Thing & Stamp Something ~ something Digi

Ok been working on this for the past 2 evenings and its taken me a while but I am pleased with the final outcome. Its for 2 challenges.
My Time To Craft #94 Wild Thing ~ so what better wild thing but our very own bearded dragon, Wally being very wild attacking and eating his cress, it really is quite comical to watch him lunge at it and play tug of war with it, sometimes he even drags it half way across the vivarium!
Stamp Something ~ Digital something, can be papers, image, sentiment anything that is digi, now I do love doing digi bits and those of you who are regular visitors will know I use a lot of digi papers and I adore Charmed Cards & Crafts digi downloads and of course my TGF digi images too, but there are so many available out there its hard to choose and then I also really enjoy making digi scrapbook pages which what I have done for this challenge, the papers and elements and alpha are all from a kit called Cinnamon Spice except the 3 frame which is from a kit called Circle of Life and they are both by one of my favourite designers Stacey Towers aka Stacey's Scraps. And for anyone interested in digi kits 4 fantastic designers inc Stacey trade together at a place called Scrap That Idea and they have new stuff every week, so go check 'em out.
I have used Photoshop CS4 which I am still finding my way round so it gave me lots of practice and I really enjoyed putting this one together so Ihope you all enjoy looking at it. TFL xx

Friday Sketchers # 104

Well 1 card 1 challenge, dont that too often these days. I really liked the sketch this week over at Friday Sketchers (which I rotated!) but just couldn't decide on what image and in the end I chose a stamp that I have had in my collection for quite sometime, it was part of a set but I can't remember who it is by, anyway I stamped and embossed it with copper powder and then filled in the rest of the wings with glamour dust so it is quite sparkly which doesn't really show in the picture, the sentiment is part of a papermania botanicals set of the peacock butterfly. The papers are all from a digi kit called Summer Berries by Staceys Scraps, as is the stitched border. I did try adding some more embellishments but they just weren't working so I ended up leaving quite simple. TFL

Stamp Something - a recipe & SCSC # 85 - buttons & blooms

Well the weather here has certainly improved which was a good thing as Ria had a couple of friends over today and we went to the market so they could have a wander and a spend which I think they all enjoyed followed by a bag of chips and milkshake for lunch, while they were spending I was lookng in the lcs but only bought some glue runners, I'm waiting to buy the Roll Call stamps by TGF and The Spotlight collection also by TGF. Anyway we came home and they played with the lizards for a while before going home. So I think they had an enjoyable time. I have made a card and it meets with 2 challenges.
Stamp Something this week was a recipe ~ Designer paper (Me & My Big Idea Paper Pad), ribbon, bow (from my stash) tag (cut from BIgShot die and covered in papers) the image is one that I won in Sammi's blog candy and is Joseph digi from TGF, I tried to give him a bit of a stubble look but not sure if it really worked or not. The sentiment is from a freebie from Karen of Charmed cards and crafts ages ago.
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge #85 ~ buttons & Blooms, both from my stash. TFL

CCT #114 and Sketch Saturday #105

Ok now this card looks really simple and for the most part it was fairly simple to put together but I really struggled with the little flowers I tried lots of different things before I remembered I had these and then that was it finished. I coloured the image (which is a papermania botanicals) with copics and used the feather blending technique for the first time. You can find a brilliant tutorial here by Sammi over at the Mad For Markers blog. This card is for 2 challenges.
