Dotties World Challenge - fabulous flowers

Ok so Louly set the challenge this week over at Dotties World - I want you to make something (it doesn't have to be a card) and embellish it with flowers of some description. You can use flowers in your image or in the pattern on your paper but there must still be a flower(s) forming the main part of the embellishments, it could be silk or paper flowers, brads, buttons you get the idea right? As always Dottie's World challenges must have one of the Charmed downloads on them somewhere. Well yet again time has run away with me so I am just in time with this one as I have to go to work this afternoon and still have to find and iron something to wear! lol but cards must come first! So we have George with his barrow of flowers, which are little metal ones I picked up somewhere a long time ago! George is coloured using wc pencils and sakura glase pens mounted on to blue cs with daisies punched out, backing paper is Pm then I added a peeloff sentiment mounted on paper then cs and the final touch was a few daisies using the same cs and punch with a tiny bit of sakura startdust (blue) added. TFL now to find some clothes wish that was as much fun as card making! Til tomorrow then. x

SCSC #8 decoupage

Well over at SCSC they challenged us to use decoupage, its not something I do a lot of but I remembered I had these cute Margaret Sherry Collection teddies that were a magazine freebie quite some time ago so I thought I'd use one of them, mounted on some dark green cs teh background paper is another freebie, the ribbon and snowflake brad are from my stash and I added some glitter and I'm actually quite pleased with the result! (makes a change, lol) Ria had hoped to join this challenge too as she has been putting together some dufex decoupage but time just ran away with her this week due to lots of homework! I really must have a count up of my christmas cards and see how many more I need to make! TFL

Friday Sketchers #29

I loved this sketch at Friday Sketchers as soon as I saw it and will no doubt use it again and again but for this challenge I turned it around as it gave me the purrfect opportunity to use Lady Pusskins from the Animal Magic collection the papers are pm (2 different xmas collections) some red metallic card adn some starry vellum, I have trimmed a skeleton leaf adn cut quickcutz snowflakes edges inked in a coppery ink and some pm adhesive stones added to finish it off. Lady Pusskins has been coloured using wc pencils and sakura stardust pens. TFL Hopefully more time to craft tomorrow as today kind of disappeared! lol

Drumming George

MTTC #36 Its raining its pouring

Over at MTTC the challenge this week went ... This week's challenge is called 'Its Raining, Its Pouring...! We have had such wet weather lately we thought it would be very appropriate! We want to see your 'Rain' cards! The DT work is wonderful as always and here is my attempt, its Dottie & George puddle love and I diamond glazed the puddle (as I've seen done so effectively by others), I added glizt to the hearts on the brolly with sakura stardust pens and matted it coredinations embossed with a fiskars texture plate then sanded, ripped along the bottom then from some freebie paper from a magazine I cut the daisy from a 'thin cut' and added a heart shaped button cut from the coredinations card using a sizzlit die and finally added a gold peeloff, background paper is PM. TFL

Dotties World Challenge - fur or feather

Well Nicola set the challenge over at Dotties World this week and it went like this ... My Challenge is:-Fur or Feather.Using a download,i want to see either fur or feather, it could be from Animal Magic, dress up dottie or the reindeer etc,but if you dont have a set with one in, you could just add a feather or make something furry!!but be sure to add a download too. And with some absolute stunners by the DT how could I not have a go but as per normal I'm cutting it fine! Well I used Angel Dottie and substitued her wings for feathers mounted her onto blue embossed coredinations, cut some Quickcutz snowflakes from the same card and moutned this onto a gate fold A4 card which is shiny and embossed with Merry Christmas and Christmas trees (I got it at a craft show in Exeter a few years ago!), then I added some blue organza ribbon and the card is held closed with a little BG magnetic closure (I bought these recently without really thinking about how I would use them!) and finally added some blue gems. Crafty Muse challenge #1 Angelique

This card I have made (just in time) for the challenge over at a new blog challenge by the very talented Sammi called Crafty Muse go on over and check it out. For the first challenge Sammi gave away a lovely downloadable image called Angelique as the challenge was to use Angelique (you can also buy more images of Angelique to download) so here is what I came up with ... paper is Artylicious Filigree Fusion, paperpieced her dress using some handmade paper with metallic design in it (sort of reminds me of indian stuff) then added ribbon, flowers and brads from my stash and coloured a silver peeloff with orange permanent whisper pen to make it the same colour as the brads. TFL. Right thats me done for tonight I am feeling somewhat tired but looking forward to the fact that I have the next 3 days off but must try and fit in a little bit of housework between crafting sessions!

Spoon Full of Sugar #25 Childs card

Only just made it again! Blame DOH as I had planned to craft my Monday to my hearts content but NO! he got rained off and had other plans so we spent the day sorting Rias room and moving it all around in readiness for her vivarium and bearded dragons, so I have spent tonight trying to catch up. Anyway I have completed a card for the challenge over at Spoon Full of Sugar and the challenge was to make a card for a child so I thought I'd have a play digitally with a lovely kit from Raspberry Road Designs called Bubby Collection, it is a freebie kit and I had fun with this as I havent done much digitally recently. I changed the opacity of the clouds so they have the appearence of vellum (well they do look a bit more like it IRL!) added drop shadows for more depthand printed it onto photographic paper. The pic is taken without the flash as I had to much glare with it! Am quite pleased with the end result. TFL and now it really is time I went to bed! Goodnight to you all. x

MTTC #36 Snowmen

Great festive theme of 'Snowmen' over at MTTC this week and I'm not sure if I got mine finished quite in time but I have done it, I've used PM flower and background paper, mulberry paper on the tag, buttons from my stash, a bit of wire through the tag, ribbon from my stash and a little tree fastenator. The snowman is cut using the xcut impress die through the sidekick. I think I should have edged the tag to make it stand out a bit more but its too late now coz if I try and do something to it I will end up making a huge mistake! TFL, hopefully back a bit later.

Sunday 16 November 2008

Dotties World Challenge - colour me silly

The challenge this week is inspired by fireworks and, as we were limited to one colour last week, this week I want to see LOTS OF COLOURS on your cards - the more the merrier! As usual, you must include one of the Charmed Downloads too, so get those papers out and start creating!!! So said Juliet this week over at Dotties World. What a great challenge! I used Raspberry Road Designs Kaylabugs paper, black paper pre coloured Goth Chick Dottie from Charmed Cards, an old flower from my stash cut in half, black glaze pen and red metallic pen with pink peeloffs. The white funky rectangle was cut on my xyron pc after I had printed Dottie, I keep forgetting about the shapes on there so I really must make some templates and have a bit of a play with them. TFL

StampSomething challenge - simples somethings

What a fantastic challenge over at Stamp Something this week - Simple Somethings. Make us a card using only one layer of cardstock. You can embellish it, stamp it, color it, do anything you wish, but you must only use one layer! That's easy right!!?? It wasnt that easy as I couldnt get it right til my 3rd attempt! but I got there eventually, so - white card blank embossed with CB winter scene folder, small silver peeloff at the bottom and a circle sentiment from Dotties Bumper Christmas Collection available at Charmed Cards which I have recoloured and resized in PSE5 then I added some ribbon and a small silver heart brad. Not sure if the photo really does it justice but I am quite pleased with this one for its simplicity, so thanks for a great challenge. TFL

Dotties World Challenge Black & White and a splash of Colour

Fantastic challenge by Adele over at Dotties World this week that goes like this ... Black, white and a splash of .........COLOUR!!! I want your creations this week to include one or more of the Charmed Download images and to be only 3 main colours. Black, white and one colour of your choice. You can use as many tones of grey and of your chosen colour and you can obviously use a skintone and haircolour ( I am feeling generous! LOL )but that's it. Well as you know my printer is not behaving as it should and all my favourite b&w papers are on disc! so had to compromise and printed out my own backing paper, the bathtime Dottie image has a glazed bath to give the impression of the old enamel baths adn the splash of colour is obviously the yellow of the duck and the stripe then I used black cs and yellow corrugated paper and finished it all off with some black adhesive stones. TFL
