Bright & Cheery!

I have used one of my 2 Kenny K stamps for this card (gotta love those images and me thinks I'll have to get myself some more! lol) This time I have used Rock Chick coloured with copics and a tiny bit of stardust here 'n' there.  Bp is MME On the Bright Side one with orange cs I used the Rock Princess Cricut cartridge to cut 2 guitars and then the paperlace cartridge for the central border piece to which I added a peeloff coloured with copics.  Added a piece of green mirricard which I embossed with music notes and finished off with a selection of flowers, a button and some wire from my stash.

Crafty Sentiments - Shaped cards - not square

This weeks challenge over at Crafty Sentiments is hosted by Bunny and the theme is 'Shaped Cards - not square!  Now I love seeing all the different shaped cards that people come up with but it really isn't my strong point so I had to step out of my comfort zone this week.  After much deliberation I realised I had the persfect tool in my arsenal my 'Gypsy' so I set too and after going through all the different bits on the cartridges I thought I would have a go at the apron from 'Country Life' my friend Heather and I had looked at it and thought it should be do able and here is the outcome.  Cut the base from white cs then the next layer is cut from patterned cs printed with Raspberry Road Designs, next came the pockets and waistband again from whites cs and the frill at the bottom and top instead of cutting them out I decided to add some glamour dust instead, the sentiment is also cut from the same cartridge and mounted onto a die cut using Crafty Cutters Vintage Label die available at Crafty Sentiments Designs (Oh and they have some gorgeous new dies available for pre order too!) and then I used the wonderful image 'Tasty Treat' available from Crafty Sentiments Designs coloured with copics.

This card is actually going in the post to Heather as last summer she entered the  local show for the first time (which is actually quite big) with various items of home produce and did so well that she came joint first, so my card is to encourage her to do it again!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments Digi release Friday

OK so this is a few days late but I couldn't resist having a play tonight with the digi releases that became available over at Crafty Sentiments Designs, there were 3 this week and I have used 2, the windmill and bucket of Easter eggs along with Mo Mo who was a digi release a few weeks ago.  I have used my copics, sakura stardust, ink pads and glitter to add the colour to my little scene which I put together in PSE5 before printing.  The sentiment is also from Crafty Sentiments Designs and I added some sequin flowers and a tiny gem.  This was such fun, I hope you like it too.

Crafty Sentiments - Use 2 dps

This week our host over at Crafty Sentiments is Axa and the theme for the week is to 'use 2 designer papers'.  Well this gave me the opportunity to use another of my new 6x6 paper pads that I got the other day, this one is by Echo Park and is called 'Times & Seasons' I like the vintagey and masculine feel to these papers.  I have used the wonder stamp of Patches & Stitch from Crafty Sentiments Designs I have coloured using copics, the sentiment and Crafty Cutters Vntage label die are also from Crafty Sentiments Designs. I have added brads from my stash and a flower and swirl cut using the Cricut.  I have inked the edge of the sentiment and image to add to the vintagey feel.

Hmmmmm not sure ...

really not sure that this card has worked.  The idea and picture in my mind haven't quite married with the end product. (took me ages too! lol)  I have made the bp by embossing then inking.  On to that I have placed a drum kit cut using the Rock Princess cartridge on the Cricut and then I have finished off with the gorgeous Kenny K Rock Chick image (that I love and I'm pleased with how I coloured her) which is coloured with copics and then added with foam pads.  I am hoping it will grow on me! lol

Hint of Pink

Well the other day when I went with my friend to investigate a new local craft shop 'My Mums Craft Shop' a couple of stamps happend to fall into my basket!  Now I have admired the Kenny K images for quite sometime but have managed to resist buying any as I know when I start I shall want more and more of them, so I resisted no longer!  And here is a card I have made tonight with Troublemaker.  Coloured with copics, papers are I think Dovecraft Hint of Pink, the sentiment is cut on the Cricut from the Straight from the Nest cartridge then added some card candi and thread from my stash.  I'm really pleased with how this has turned out.

Air Mail with Love

I'm back with my 2nd card for the Digi Release Friday at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  This little cutie is Tobey Heart Ballon and I have coloured him using copics I cut his heart ballon seperately and joined them up using sakura stardust pen.  I wanted to use another of my new paper pads and this one is MME Kraft Funday Happy Days and decided to keep my image in the same colour way apart from the heart.  Also went with distressing for this card by roughing up some edges and inking others.  The bunting is cut with the Cricut and the film strip is a sizzix extended cut I finished off with a stamp from the Papermania Portobello Road collection.
Now, did you know that Crafty Sentiments also has a monthly challenge blog which started up this month,  NO!  well get yourselves over there and check it out! the wonderful ladies on the DT have made some gorgeous projects to inspire you.  The theme for this month is 'Love Is In The Air' and I thought I would add this card to support them.  Please go have a peek and join in, remember you have a whole month for this challenge.

Playing with my Cricut

I have had some fun (and some frustrations!) today playing with my Cricut.  The end result is this tag, which has been cut using George & basic shapes, then I layered up a skull with bow from Rock Princess and the leaf and rolled flowers were made using the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  I think I am going to love that one when I get better at rolling my flowers! lol  the picture in the book looks to start rolling from the centre but all the clips I've seen on YouTube start at the outside!  so far I've been rolling from the outside using my quilling tool, I might have done better to start with bigger flowers but these ones here are cut at 1.5 and 2 inches so are pretty small when rolled!.  Anyway I digress!  I have used TGF image and coloured her with copics (we call her Abbi as she reminds us of Abbi in NCIS! lol) and I added a heart brad to her top instead of the usual star that is there, then finished off with some ribbon from my stash.

I would like to enter this tag into the following challenges:

Friendship

While I was looking at all the different bits and pieces on the Jewel Britannia cd I came across this pretty pink version of the Union Jack and decided there and then I wanted to use it!  So I have made a bit of a hybrid card as the sentiment (which was a freebie from Sentimental Sundays) and the lace along the bottom have all been added before printing and then I have added the flowers and strands of pearls and then made some bunting using the Cricut Straight From the Nest cartridge to which I added some pink gems and finally I gave the floers a little bit of glamour dust.  Quite a pink and girly card from me but I like it.

Crafty Sentiments - Love

Wow you guys like your Girly cards, we loved looking at them all but now its time for a new challenge this week hosted by Jo who I am sure has had a fabby weekend selling Crafty Sentiments stamps at the show.  Anyway the theme this week is 'LOVE'.  For my card I have used the super cute image 'He Loves Me' available at Crafty Sentiments Designs as is the ticket digi stamp.  I have coloured her with copics (still need more practice with acheiving good black hair!) and a touch of sakura glaze and stardust, backing paper is DCVW Glitter Stack and some red cs the oval has been cut with a nestie then embossed, rikrak is also cs, ribbon, buttons and gems from my stash and the swirl I did using one swirl then duplicating it and rotating it and welding them together on my Gypsy and then cutting out with the cricut.  The swirls come from the Straight From the Nest cartridge.
So there is my card, don't forget to check out the rest of the DTs work, it really is gorgeous and then its over to you all to spread a little love.

The Best Dressed Gypsy

Cricut Gypsy that is! lol  Ria has made me a pendant to hang from my Gypsy stylus, now we didn't have any 'cricut' charms so she chose to use this super cute little ladybug charm instead.  The whole thing is really beautiful and sparkles in the light and the pink in the beads matches the pink trim around the Gypsy cover.  I LOVE it!

Oh So Thankful ...

... that I am now on leave!  Got a bit short staffed at work this week for one reason or another and on Tuesday I was on an early shift and stayed on and did the late shift too so was at work for 15 hours and then yesterday I was on the late shift and ended up staying for the night shift too, left work at 6.30 this morning so spent the morning in bed!  Still feeling a bit groggy now so will be off to bed soon.  Anyway enough of my woes and onto my card.  I have used a Miss Anya from the Dressy Anya collection by TGF, havent used one of these for quite a while.  Coloured her with my copics the sentiment is also TGF stamp.  Papers are from the new Jewel Britannia cd I got recently.  Cut the sentiment shape using Crafty Cutter Vintage label die available at Crafty Sentiments Design, the border is also a Crafty Cutter die.  The mat for Miss Anya is a Nellies Multi frame.  You cant see a lot of it but there is some butterfly ribbon running along the diagonal then finished off with some wire and some sequin flowers and a few little pink gems.

A valentines card

Well with Valentines drawing ever closer thought I'd better think about making a card.  I did but I'm not overly happy with the end result!  I have used papers from Jewel Britannia collection on cd from My Craft Studio, I bought it with some of my birthday money along with 4 card kit books when I saw it on C&C the other day. I just love the papers especially the Union Jack ones and when I saw the one with the telephone boxes on I knew I had just the right stamp to use with it, the telphone box stamp is from Papermania Urban stamps Portobello Road collection, I did quite a bit of distressing and inking  to go with the feel of the flag, the sentiment is pc generated and then I got stuck I knew I needed something to finish the card off but I just couldnt get it right, I eventually settled on the circle of Union Jack paper with a heart and topped off wth the little gold charm but like I said not really happy with it but at least it didnt get resigned to the bin and I still love the papers! lol
