PTW - Dawnys Sketch #11

over at PTW is another gorgeous sketch by Dawny P, I love her sketches but didnt think I was going to make this one in time but I have (only just!) Papers are BG sugared, flower from my stash, Amy Butler button, quote is from K&Co Proverbs To Go Box and the image is the gorgeously cute Daisy by Sugar Nellie which has been coloured using Whispers pens and a touch of sakura glaze. TFL I am now off to bed as I have a paperwork day at work tomorrow starting at 8.30 so no doubt by the time I finish at 4 I will have a headache!lol but no doubt I'll try and fit some crafting in tomorrow night!

Dotties World Challenge - Twice as Nice

Well this week over at Dotties World Adele layed down the challenge to ... use two or more charmed downloads on your creations this week. You can mix and match, duplicate an image, resize, whatever you fancy but I need to see two or more images. I have been thinking long and hard about this one and finally came up with an idea but now its on paper I'm not so sure about it. I like the image(s) but not sure about the composition of the card as a whole. The papers were freebies with a mag (crafts beautiful) and I really like them, I love my flowers and the little Amy Butler heart buttons are from my recent win from Dotties World I just adore. I love the Dottie & George images from the at work collections but now I've put them all together I'm not so sure. The idea is for an anniversary card (incase it wasnt obvious!lol) Oh well its all stuck down so no changing it. LOL TFL

Sketch Saturday #43

Here is my take on the sketch this week from Sketch Saturday. For some reason I struggled with this at the end, it started off coming together pretty well but was hard to finish and I dont really know why! The image is Dottie as a butterfly from the front to back collection from Charmed Cards & Crafts, papers are K&Co classic K Bailey range, mirri card, flowers, butterfly charms and brads from my stash. Will add a sentiment when I know what the card will be used for. TFL

And for tea tonight ....

... we had this! A 3lb 15oz Skate, caught at about 9 o'clock last night by Adrian, we took the pic last night when he got home at about 11.30 I was just on my way to bed! so tonight I cooked it up and very nice it was too, even better seeing as it hadnt cost us anything!lol He was very pleased and proud when he got home last night.

SCSC #24

The challenge this week over at SCSC is Favourite Colour. Well incase you cant tell from my card its PURPLE! and I also love combining purple with green. My paper is Pm which I used my multi-shaper punch on then I also used the punch on the cs mat. Image was given to me and she has been coloured using a mix of whispers strokes pens, wc pencils and sakura pens, I used a couple of the punched out flower shapes and the ribbon, clip and peeloffs are from my stash. TFL.

Friday Sketchers #44

The sketch this week over at Friday Sketchers is another fabulous one and I was able to make use of the beautiful K&Co classic K McKenna papers that I won as part of the prize over at Dotties World. The prize also consisted of 3 bottles of Amy Butler embellishments, Amy Butler ribbon and some Stickles so I plan on having loads of fun with such a scrummy prize (when I stop stroking it!lol) Back to the card I've already told you about the papers and in addition I have used flowers and brads from my stash and the image is Onion from the new Daisy & Dandelion range as is the sentiment. Onion is coloured using sparkly paints similar to twinkling H2Os (but cheaper!) Thanks for a great sketch and thanks for looking. x

Holly in the USA Bag

Well now I can take one of my favourite download images to work, rest and play with me! I have used Holly in the USA from Charmed Cards & Crafts, who is designed by the very talented Louly and I have placed her on a digi background added some elements from a kit addon by Sweet Blossom Designs to A Work In Progress freebie kit called Country Life then I have printed this onto transfer paper and ironed it onto a little cotton bag which I bought in a local craft shop for £2.50. I am thrilled with this as this is definately a ME bag now!lol TFL I really should be doing something else but what the heck I'm off to work after lunch so why not relax now - and I can take my new bag too!lol Bye for now. x

Sketch & Stash Challenge #6

Really enjoyed this one again over at Sketch & Stash. I have used the Madison with Attitude download for the 1st time from Charmed Cards & Crafts and she is coloured using sakura pens 2 of which are new (the red & black sparkly ones), grunged the edges with some red ink the black card has been embossed at top and bottom using one of my new CB borders then faux stitching in the sparkly red pen, coloured the peeloff sentiment and the red paper has been in my stash forever!, wooden flowers from my stash with some added red sparkly pen! do you think I like that one!lol TFL

CCT challenge #52 - Recipe

Well over at CCT they have given us a recipe this week which goes like this ... Take something ripped; 2 papers and 4 embellishments BUT there's a twist - four embellishments means ONLY four. A two-layered flower with a charm/spacer and a brad for example would count as ALL of your embellishments so choose them wisely! So my card uses Pm papers adn flowers (3) piece of ribbon from my stash (4) coredinations cs, sentiment peeloff and the beautiful Holly at Work image from Charmed Cards & Crafts. I decided on a 'good luck' card as my niece has exams for college coming up and thought this image worked for that too. TFL

Crafty Muse Challenge - Change of Season

Lovely choice of challenge this fortnight over at Crafty Muse - a Change of Season, well my choice for this is tulips and it was inspired by an image of Sammi's that she was giving away in my early days of blogging and it has been sat on my pc waiting for just the right occasion well here it is! The papers are Pm and the ribbon, wire and brad are from my stash. TFL

PTW challenge Feeling Fruity

Great theme over at PTW this week, something edible on your cards. I remember that I had a bag of wooden fruit that I had bought for £1 several years ago (dunno why just thought it seemed like a good idea at the time!lol) anyway I dug them out and found this lovely apple and remembered I had downloaded a collab kit which included a lovely apple tree paper by Mels Lightbulb Moments so with the addition of some ribbon, gems and a sentiment devised by Ria which reads 'an apple a day keeps age at bay' and then inside it says 'so they say!' my card was created, a collab between my daughter and I!lol TFL

Dotties World Challenge - A Sketch

Over at Dotties World this week Karen set us a challenge to use her sketch but also that ...The scalloped edge merely depict some sort of fancy edge. It doesn't have to be scallops but you MUST provide a fancy edge of some description, this is not an element that can be changed. You must of course include one of our downloads too. It is a great sketch and I decided to use it to make a scrapbook page and a traditional one at that not a digi one! Mind you the papers are from a digi kit which is a collab between Vicki ( a work in progress) & Sara (sweet blossom Designs) but this kit is only available thru Scrap 'n' Art magazine the kit is called Spring Zest its really vibrant. I chose a picture of Ria when she used to be a Brownie and they had been working towards their circus performer badge which ended in a bit of a circus day in the nearby village. The pic was taken in our garden before she went. So juggling Dottie was just the perfect image to use for this one and I added teh actual badge too. The heart and the journaling plate were cut on my xyron personal cutter, scalloped circles are nesties and the scalloped edge is hand cut. TFL and thanks Karen for the inspiration it was nice to do a traditional page for a change. Sorry the pic is a bit blurry I scanned it as the photo I took didnt come out too well so thought this would be better it is but not by much!

Here you are Mum! MTTC challenge #53 and ABC challenge F

well this is just a quick post especially for my mum who is going to be away for mothers day and I wanted to do something a little different for her so I just hope she likes this and wont be too mad at me - she'll know what I mean! This is a digi page made using a freebie collab kit called Mon Amie and its by Vicki ( a Work in Progress) & Stacey Towers I have also used some leaves from a couple of Vickis other kits. The photo is from when my mum came to visit me in hospital shortly after Ria was born, it was a bit of a surprise as she wasnt actually due for another 2 months! I just felt that this photo shouted a mum moment at me. Happy Mothers Day Mum hope you like it. xx(will bring you the original next time we visit. Thanks for everything you do for me, I love you. xx
I have also realised that I can use this digi scrap page to enter into 2 challenges this week the MTTC one which is nature, well the flowers and leaves work there but also what is more natural than motherhood. Also fits with the ABC challenge which is flowers. TFL

A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge #43 Little Gem

Over at ASFOS this week the challenge is we would like to see you use Gem's on your cards. Well I had unfortunately not got my card completed for their wonderful sketch last week as my night shifts so rudely interuppted my crafting time! I had got as far as sorting my papers and layering them together but that was it, so I used it as my starting block this evening and chose my image 'Summer Ice Cream' Sugar Nellie and then decided it would make a good mothers day card for my MIL so chose the sentiment and then added the paper flowers and then added the pink gems to the flowers. The papers are MM cosmopolitan collection. I really loved this sketch and even added faux stitching, definately one to use again the hardest part for me was choosing the 3 different papers as I do sometimes still struggle to put pattern papers together, even when they come from the same collection! but I am pleased with how this one turned out. Please excuse what looks like lines in the paper at the bottom of the pick but I have used the flash on my camera and this is the reflection from the gloss painted surface I must try and remember to put a sheet of plain paper there before taking the pics in future! lol TFL

Well I now have 2 days of training ahead of me so I think it is probably best if I head off to bed but hopefully I will be able to fit in a bit of card making tomorrow evening (fingers crossed)

PTW - Dawnys Sketch

Great sketch by DawnyP over at PTW. I have used BG Sugared papers, embossed one piece with the script folder, the image is from Chatrmed Cards and is the wonderful George doing his Elvis impression (love this image) then I've added organza ribbon, wooden sentiment tag and photo anchors from my stash. TFL now I'm off to bed as I'm on the night shift but wanted to get this uploaded before I could go!

Sketch & Stash Challenge #5

Another great sketch over at Sketch & Stash this week. Turned it on its side and used some papermania papers that I have had forever! the new stash is my Bubbles stamp from the Daisy & Dandelion range and I replaced the stamped flower that she is holding with a paper flower and brad from my stash with a little swirl stamped on the brad. The sentiment is D&D too stamped using Stazon on some shiny paper ribbon that I bought a couple of years ago to hang my christmas cards from and then promptly lost it til after christmas! TFL

Scraps 4 Fun blog candy

Just happend across this blog by chance and Sonias cards are awesome and she has some amazing blog candy up for grabs so do go and check it out here

Dotties World Challenge - Get the Feeling

Nicola set a fantastic challenge this week over at Dotties World which is ... Get the feeling!!!!! I would like to see some kind of fabric incorperated in the card or item, it could be felt, ribbon, lace, cotton etc and of course a Charmed Cards and crafts download. I wasnt sure what I was going to do for this then I was sat the other evening playing with a new toy called a yo-yo maker which makes little rosette thingies out out fabric and I had picked up some scraps of material at the same shop I bought the yo-yo maker and when I finished it, it occurred to me that it would fit nicely in the centre of a paper flower and so my card was born! I have used the gorgeous Madison in Venice for my image and coloured her using my sakura stardust pens so her dress and accessories are quite glittery but it doesn't show that well in the pic. She is mounted on some paper by Raspberry Road Designs which in turn is matted onto a piece of coredinations gemstone cs and the background paper is Pm as are the flowers then I've added the yo-yo to the biggest flower and some gems from my stash to the others, also used the sakura pen to colour some of the background flowers to tie it all together. Hope you like it. TFL.

Sorry not been about much again this week but work got in the way and now I have a terrible cold felt so bad yesterday I just couldn't face crafting which was annoying as I had planned to spend the whole day catching up on challenges but it was not to be! so I'd best get on with some now instead! Bye for now. x

Dragons doing homework!

Actually its Ria that is supposed to be doing the homework! but she just cant resist having those 2 out with her whenever she gets the chance, trouble is they can be somewhat of a distraction! an adorable distraction but a distraction all the same! Indie is on the right shoulder and Walley is on the left. TFL and goodnight

MTTC #51 Hats

Ok so the challenge was Hats this week over at MTTC so I thought I'd try something a little different and having found a silhouette of a hat I had Robbie trace it and cut it then I added a little ribbon and some flowers and mounted it onto some K&Co Classic K Bailey papers and there you have it my card for the challenge. I will add a sentiment at a later date when I decide what occassion it can be used for. TFL

Spoon Full of Sugar #41 Torn edges

Over at SFOS this week the challenge was to use torn edges on your project, so I bravely decided to tear the edges of a sheet of paper from my new pad of BG Sugared! (it feels different tearing these papers to tearing my digi ones that I print I s'pose its coz I can easily print more if it goes wrong!lol) but hey I did it and the orange paper is Pm flowers, brads and leaf from my stash, added glitz it sparkle glue to the flowers and the image is Juliet from Charmed Cards & Crafts coloured using wc pencils and sakura glaze pens. TFL and now I'm off to bed for a few hours as my shift has changed to the night shift tonight - ugh!

PTW hot chocolate?

The challenge at PTW this week is Hot Chocolate! lol It's a colour combination challenge, the Pink and Orange is the 'hot' part and the brown is obviously the chocolate! What a great colour combo, it wasnt a combo I had really thought about before but after having a look around there were some fabby cards being produced so I thought I'd have a go too! I have used Pm papers, coredinations cs, Imaginisce flowers, gems from my stash and the lovely Candyfloss rabbit from the Daisy & Dandelion range coloured with wc pencils and whispers strokes pens with a tiny bit of sakura stardust added! Enjoyed this one. TFL

Dotties World Challenge - Inspire me!

This week over at Dotties World Juliet challenged us to be inspired by a photo she had chosen. Great idea. Looking at my finished card it could be hard to see where I got my inspiration from but here goes, firstly the chocolate and pink colour way is my basis with a touch of the blue, flowers - the chocolate icing, buttons - the cakes I used the Holly in the USA pre coloured image I just adore this image and paper pieced her top with a piece of the paper from the pad that the rest came from which is K&Co Classic K Bailey. I also did some distressing by folding and sanding (with an emery board!) the papers and then inked round the edges of the image using rich chocolate ink pad and pulled it towards the image too. I was trying for a bit of a collagey, old look but not sure if it really worked. I see so many others out there who do this type of style so beautifully but I really struggle. TFL

Sketch Saturday #40

Great but tricky sketch this week over at Sketch Saturday, (at least I found it tricky!lol) I have used BG Sugared papers inked the edges, imaginisce flowers and some from stash, pm adhesive stones and the image of Dandelion and the sentiment is from the Daisy & Dandelion range too. Image is coloured using wc pencils. This feels very different for me and I think I like it but I'm not sure!lol but I have loved having a play with some of my new stash! TFL Hopefully get time tomorrow to play some more when Ria and I get back from Yeovil.

New stash at last!

Yea! I finally managed it I got to the craft shops today which I've been trying to do all week and now I only have tonight and tomorrow to play as I'm back at work on sunday! Anyway included in my stash buy up is the 4 new sets of stamps by Daisy & Dandelion ATC blanks (thought I might give ATCs a try) flowers which are Imaginisce/Papermania some coredinations Gemstones cs 6x6 pad of BG Sugared, 6x6 pad K&Co Classic K Bailey, stitching templates, glues, some fabric squares and a yo-yo maker and finally some Kling-On for my Sugar Nellies and some A4 storage sheets, the ones that are safe for storing stamps on. I dont think I missed anything and now I need to play but I dont know where to start! Bye for now x

Crafty Muse challenge Mums & Girlfriends

Over at Crafty Muse the challenge is to make a card for a Mum or Girlfriend well I have made this card for my sister so I hope that counts. The paper is I think by Raspberry Road Designs (it was in my scraps draw) the mat was cut from green cs on my robo and the image is the gorgeous sweet & sassy from Sugar Nellie coloured with Whispers Stokes and Sakura pens, flowers and brads from my stash. TFL I am now off to the craft shop having to put it off yesterday due to the snow! Back later!

SCSC #21 Transport

WhenI first saw the challenge over at SCSC I thought Oh No! I dont have anything about transport! Then I stopped and thought a bit harder and here is what I came up with, cant believe I forgot I had the fabulous image of George on his bike! Papers are Pm For Him collection with the addition of some cs circles cut using nestabilities. George from Charmed Cards & Crafts coloured using sakura glaze and stardust pens and whispers strokes pens. Pleased with how this one turned out - Ria says "its dudie" whatever that is supposed to mean but I think it means she likes it! lol TFL

StampSomething challenge - cold winter wind

Ok the challenge over at Stamp Something was all about cold winter wind and the fact we should be waving goodbye to it, anyway the idea was to use the title to inspire our project so I have done another digi lo. My stamp part is the date as the font used is the Art Stamp font, the papers and elements are from a collab kit called Walking in a Scrappy Wonderland and this part of it is by Snowsmoons Designs apart from the sprinkle of glitter in the bottom right corner which is from the same collab but is by Bon Scrapatit Designs. The journal font is Arctic adn the title font is ball. TFL and now its time for bed and hopefully more crafting tomorrow. x

Recent awards

I have been very remiss in not putting these awards up when they first came thru and I have Lea and Nicky to thank for them. Now I am supposed to pass them on to 5 more people and this is the difficult bit as most of the blogs I visit and my blogging friends have already received these awards so I would like to just say that these awards are for you all and with out all your support and friendship life would be very dull and boring. Thank you. x

Friday Sketchers # 41

Well this week I decided to make a Digi scrapbook page based on the sketch over at Friday Sketchers, all the papers and elements are from a freebie kit called Bright Eyes by one of my fave designers at the moment, Vicki aka A Work In Progress. The photo is one of Ria taken on holiday at my mums recently. TFL
Well the weather started off cold but fine this morning we even managed a bit of sunshine, then it decided to rain just after lunch and then before long it was hail and that was followed by snow! It didnt last long but it was really strange! Had planned a trip to the lcs today but unfortunately when I went into town DOH came to! so just got some herbs to plant up instead! fingers crossed I'l get there tomorrow!

CCT challenge #49 Animal Magic

Over at CCT this week the challenge is Animal Magic and they would like to see an animal somewhere on our project. The papers I have used were part of a rak ages ago and I dont know what they are but they are lovely and I have now used them all up :{ I embossed the edge with a CB Button border folder, (think I'm going to like these as much as the other folders, I got them while I was on holiday at mums) the image was part of a rak too and has been in my stash for ages so cut her out using the nestabilities adn the mat too then added the silver tag with some pink ribbon that actually came off the labels of Ria's new clothes that she got on holiday!) TFL x

ABC challenge C is for Childs Card

Over at ABC challenge the letter is C and its for a Childs Card, I have cut my card on the Robo by welding the 10 today to the side, background paper is pm and the image is a decoupaged Rock Hard Fairy, ribbon is from my stash and the little adhesive gems are pm. TFL

MTTC #50 Beckys sketch #2

Over at MTTC Becky has provided us with a lovely sketch and I had just downloaded just the image for the challenge. The image is from a decoupage sheet (freebie) via Do Crafts and is of their new range Daisy & Dandelion and hopefully on Wednesday I will be able to make a few more of these as I hope to be able to purchase some of the stamps at my lcs (fingers crossed they have them in) Anyway back to the card the pattern paper is from Shabby Princess a digi kit which at the moment I cant remember the name of, then I've used coredinations cs, swiss dots folder and gold peeloffs. TFL and thats me done for tonight adn tomorrow if its not raining I'm off to help Adrian on a job (lucky me!! lol) then Wednesday is definately a craft day! (I hope! lol) Good night all, and to those of you who have given me award recently, I havent forgotten and I really do appreciate the thought and I will be sorting those on Wednesday too! xx

Not a card!

No! I have spent the past 24 hours or so trying to complete a circle journal layout and boy have I struggled with this one! most of the books in this cj have been stories for children but this one is adult and is a bit of a love story (I hope!) at least my bit is! I wanted to keep the page fairly simple and hopefully stylish and the ideas I had originally just didnt work properly and I got very frustrated but in the end I am quite pleased with how it turned out. Anyway here it is. I think I've still got about 3 books to go! Right now I'm off to try and get my MTTC card finished so I may be back again later. As always TFL and I love reading the comments that you leave, thank you all. x
