Good morning all, wow Friday comes around so quick these days! shan't be long before I'm back to work :( but that's not why I'm here is it! For my card I have used the beautiful image 'Wild Flower Beauty' and coloured with Chameleon pens, the papers are all from First Edition 'Daydream' the base layer has been embossed with butterflies and I have die cut a butterfly spray from the papers and also stamped the sentiment directly to some of the papers too.  I distressed all the edges and finished off with some Card Candi.

Warm Wishes

Bought the January New Release set over at The East Wind and just had to get making.  So here is my first card using the set and the image is called 'Lucy Loo Winter Birch Forest' I really wanted to keep this nice and simple and let the image speak for itself so I found a great background paper from Raspberry Road Designs, coloured Lucy Loo using my Chameleons (I think it takes me a bit longer to colour but I am enjoying the results oh and the time spent colouring! lol) I then cut a frame using the Cricut, stamped the sentiment then embossed the frame with some clouds which I inked slightly with some white ink.  Finished off with a little cloud outline die cut.

Simply B Progressive Challenge

Thought I'd share a card here that I made to take part in the Simply B Stamps Progressive Challenge over on the Simply B Stamps fan page on Facebook.  The fabulous image is called 'Coffee Emo' and the challenge accompanying the image was to use brown, beige, black and hot pink.  I have coloured her using Chameleon pens (a wonderful Christmas present) then I inked round the edge, can't remember whose the paper is I've had it for a long while, teamed it up with some black and pink cs, the sentiment comes with the image.  Used my Cropodile for the first time in a long time to put the eyelets in and make the holes for the little skull brads and finally finished off with a pink and a black gem and some funky black fibres.

Crafty Catz Challenge #352 ~ Anything Goes

Good morning and a Happy New Year to one and all.  I hope you all had a lovely festive break and are all set to enjoy the coming year.  I'm due back at work later this month (24th) so I am going to try and make the most of the time I have left with crafting and a bit of home decorating too.  So with out further waffle lets get down to business.  Today is the first challenge of the year over at Crafty Catz and the theme is 'Anything Goes' and it is the turn of our wonderful boss lady Carol to set the DT a twist and she very kindly gave us a nice easy one to start the year with 'add ribbon', don't forget you don't have to add the twist but we'd love it if you did join us.  Our fabulous sponsor this week is

So while I was wondering round looking for last minute gifts I saw this diary in Poundland and thought it was ideal for me to give it my personal touch.  It's A6 in size and now I wish I'd got a few more and done them as gifts! lol  

I started off with the sentiment stamp which is from a set called SteamPunk Dreams by Sam Poole from Creative Expression, the cogs, flying bugs and dressmakers form are also part of the set, the other stamps are from various different companies that I've bought over the years.  All stamped images have been heat embossed with, sea foam, antique gold, bronze or black embossing powders.

I then added various funky fibres, and bits of ribbon to the spine and finished off with a few little charms.  I don't think it will get mixed up with anyone elses diary! lol.  I love how it turned out.

Long Time No Play

Ok I seem to be struggling some what with my mojo. You'd think after not properly crafting for 2 months, following my thumb op, I'd be steaming ahead with ideas a plenty, but no such luck! lol  Anyway I really wanted to play along at The East Wind and the newsletter came for this month along with a cute Christmas kitty so I thought what better opportunity!  So I have spent a long time pushing bits of paper around my desk and moving die cuts here there and everywhere but it just wasn't happening and in the end I managed to make a simple little card but at least i managed something and I can play along with their challenge which is 'Meowy Christmas'  Hope I find my mojo soon!

Paper is from Raspberry Road Designs, cs is from my stash, image is coloured with copics, SN and Sparkles, added 3d glaze to the lights and glamour dust to the top of the stocking.  The embossed border is using a new folder that came with the Crafters Inspiration magazine issue 12.  Die cut holly leaves, gem berries and finished off with a peel off sentiment!

For my easel card I have used a fantastic Gus image and sentiment from Bugaboo Stamps, I do love a good Gus image and thought he would be perfect for a card for my OH who celebrated turning 50 on Sunday.  I have coloured the image using copics and SNs and some 3d gloss for his glasses, paper is First Edition Neroli and I have used scrap of cs for the matting, sentiment and balloon. The balloon is a die cut and the speech bubble is cut on the Cricut.  Kept it fairly simple as OH don't too fancy! lol

Crafty Catz Challenge #348 ~ Anything Goes

Good morning, how are you all?  Well we've had a week of it weather wise, the start of the week saw rain and lots of it which lead to localised flooding but thankfully we avoided that part and now we have strong winds and its bloomin' cold!  So all the more reason to stay inside and craft!  Well this week I have finally been able to get into the craft room and do some proper crafting.  I took it easy so as not to over reach with my thumb and I managed to complete my project for Crafty Catz this week. So without further ado lets talk about this week's challenge over at Crafty Catz, it's everyones' favourite 'Anything Goes' and this week our fabulous Janette gave the DT the twist of 'a Christmas tag'  Now remember the twist is for the DT but you are more than welcome to join in with the twist if you want to.  We have a great sponsor too

POLKA DOODLES

So I made a Christmas tag using a wonderful image generously given to us by our sponsor.  This little cutie is called 'Toots Santa' he is coloured with copics and spectrums and I added lots of glamour dust to all the fluffy bits for that Christmas sparkle.  Die cut to trees from Kraft then embossed them and rubbed them over with white ink.  The background paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and the paper used for the bows is from Raspberry Road Designs.  Bows are cut using a TH die and I layered up the large and small ones and finished them off with a little snowflake.  The final touch was the sentiment which is a little wooden one that I have heat embossed with white sea foam powder.

Our sponsors were very generous and gave the DT some fabulous images to work with.  For my card this time I have again worked it all digitally in PSE5 and will print it out and mount it on a card when I am back in my craft room.  I have used a pre-coloured image from our sponsor called 'Winter Games 02'.  Issue 12 of Crafters Inspiration arrived just in time for this as I used a paper and floral frame from the 'Happy Holidays' kit and then teamed that up with the Christmas tree element from 'Deck The Halls' all on the cd I finished off with a digi stamp sentiment also from the cd to which I added some bevelled edges.  Once printed I will no doubt add a touch of glitter here and there for some extra sparkle.

This week I have gone with a very simple project that I did in Photoshop Elements (I'm still not able to get in the craftroom and do stuff yet and I'm really missing it) I have used a gorgeous paper from Bearly Mine Designs, I love how it is already all layered up and 'embellished' so all I have added is the quote which I found on Pintrest and I added a slight bevel to it.  Once my hand is fighting fit I intend to print this out and put it onto a ceramic tile leftover from when our bathroom was decorated and then varnish it and put some little felt on it so it can be used as a teapot/hot plate stand.

This week I am sharing a project I made using mainly cuts on the Cricut. The card is cut from kraft cs using a die I bought recently then it is embossed with a clouds folder and I have added some gold gliding wax (need more practice with that stuff! lol) The hot air balloon and 18 are cut on the Cricut using brown and Kraft cs and paper from DCWV that is foiled.  Then made a little gift box again using the Cricut and Kraft cs and some more gilding wax.  Can't believe there was no colouring on this card! lol.

The DT were given some fabulous images from our generous sponsor to play along with and we all had great fun.  I have used the cute 'Cup of Cocoa'.  Now due to my thumb op I didn't get as ahead with my DT cards as I had hoped, so for this weeks project I have made a totally digital creation using Photoshop Elements, I haven't done much digi work for a while so this was a nice way to do some crafting!  So I put the background together then digitally paper pieced the cute image.  Papers are all from Bearly Mine Designs.  Used drop shadows between some of the layers.  Added some gems to the image and then used some stars elements which I digitally embossed, there are a couple of great embossing buttons in PS Elements.  Finished off with a sentiment now all is left is to print it off and stick it to a card.

For my card I have used a reindeer stamp which I have had for a while and I have heat embossed it with bronze powder.  I kept this card quite simple by just using white and red cs, I embossed the white background with a reindeer folder then I added some red ribbon with a metallic border and a few red gems.  This is one of the last cards I made before the operation on my thumb and I'm really missing being in my craft room creating :(  but its only 3 weeks post op so its early days yet.
