Dotties World Challenge - Let the Sun shine

Louise set us a great challenge this week over at Dotties World when she said "Summer is finally upon us so I want you to use some sunshine in your card/creation, it could be an actual sunshine image, a card shaped like a sunshine or even the use of the word sun/sunshine somewhere on your creation. Don't forget to put your Charmed download in there somewhere too!" Well I decided on another digi lo again this week, (mainly coz my desk is so cluttered I couldnt find the right bits to make a card with! but I am enjoying digi at the mo too so its great to combine the images with my los) The papers and elements are from a collaboration kit by A Work In Progress (Vicki) and Charlie's digi scraps annd its called Bright Lights of Summer and the alpha is also by A Work In Progress and is called Bling Alpha (its gorgeous) The picture is of Ria and she must have been around 3 at the most and we didnt have a paddling pool at the time but she insisted that she wanted to play in water in the garden so we used her baby bath! She loved it. I thought that the cute image of Bathtime Dottie from the Dottie at Home collection was ideal for this lo, I coloured the image using PSE5 and the flowers are an element from the kit. Crafty Muse Challenge - a sketch & recipe (DT card)

Well here is my first offical card as a Crafty Muse DT member and can I just say its great to be working with a very talented group of ladies. The challenge for this fortnight is a lovely sketch with an additional recipe. You can see the challenge and the beautiful creations by the rest of the DT here I have used BG Sugared paper, Coredinations sparkly cs, my trusty Nesties and teh adorable Sitting Pretty image (available at Crafty Muse) the cupcake holder is covered with ribbon, the topping is diamond glazed and Angelique has been coloured using copics, whispers and sakura stardust which I then went over with a wc brush, brads and peeloff sentiments are from my stash. A digi lo

This is a lo I have put together tonight using a freebie digi kit by A Work In Progress (Vicki) the kit is actually called My Friends Wedding but I loved the colours and elements and thought it worked well with our tops. This is actually one of the few photos of me that I dont mind, usually I strongly dislike them! tfl

Dotties World Challenge - Christmas in June

Well the challenge over at Dotties World as you can see is Christmas in June and I've only just had time to complete as I'm heading out the door in 20 mins to work! Have cut the card with my Nesties and the pp is also cut with Nesties and is Papermania, the image is from the delightful new pixie range (yes I got both!! lol) and this is Holly I used the pre coloured version and added some stickles frosted lace to the fur and then finished off with some snowflake peeloffs. Right gotta go. TFL x

Crafty Muse Challenge - a sketch

Did you notice the blinkie in my side bar, I am now part of the DT for Crafty Muse and I am thrilled to be on board with some very talented ladies and off course the super talented Sammi. Anyway this is my card for this weeks challenge but my time in earnest starts with the next challenge. For this card I have used Canooing Carl from the Crafty Muse Male collection, Papermania papers, coredinations cs and some brads from my stash. Image coloured with whispers, sakura and a touch of copics! TFL.

Sketch & Stash Challenge #12

Ooops bit late here with this one, my excuse is that we have been workng in the garden today and by the time everything was finished, cleared up and Ria sorted for school it was pretty late when I got started. Anyway this is my card for Sketch & Stash challenge 12 (lovely sketch) my new item is the papers they are all from the Papermania Signature a5 paper pack of Blueberry Hill, have also used my new (few) copic ciao pens and whispers pens, gems and flower from my stash and the sentiment is a Daisy & Dandylion stamp. Dotties World Challenge - Fathers Day

Well over at Dotties World this week the challenge was to make a Fathers Day card well I had actually already done mine so instead I put together a scrap book page, now I know I'm cutting it fine but I had actually planned this all week but when it came to printing the papers it turns out my coloured ink is on the way out and printed all the colours wrong so as a quick thought I put it together as a digi page, but I will eventually put it together as a proper paper page for the album. The papers are Raspberry Road a freebie kit from ages ago, the image is George and is actually the christening picture which I have altered slightly to fit with my page and the sentiment is from the freebie pack that Karen very kindly offered. A couple of the pics are very early ones of Ria and they remind me of how small she really was, she weighed in at 4lb 12oz (she was 2 months early!) anyway sorry to leave it til the last minute yet again! TFL x

Joined 2 challenges together again for this card. Firstly Crafty Muse gave away a free image to use to make a card this week, image coloured using wc pencils and sakura pens and the challenge over at MTTC was a sketch by Becky so I used this. Background papers are from a digi kit by A Work In Progress called Citrus Brights, flowers, gems and sentiments all from my stash. Thats all for tonight! TFL

Dotties World Challenge - Holey

over at Dotties World this week the challenge was to use a charmed download and have holes somewhere, well I know I'm leaving it til the last minute again but I promise you I have been working on this for a couple of days in between working. It is an 18th card for our neice who is having a little bit of a do tomorrow night, she actually turns 18 on Monday and her parents are paying for her and her boyfriend to have a holiday in spain later this month so how could I not use Holly in Spain for this card, coloured her with whispers (apart from the skin tones and I used my new copic ciao baby skin pink! also got flesh pink but that seems quite dark but I'm still playing!lol) The background paper is Artylicious Filigree Fusion cd and reminds me of spanish tiles my hole is the one cut for the 18 spinner using my nesties and then I added some little silver fans, also tried a wash with sakura stardust pens on the fan and I'm pleased with the result. Anyway TFL and now I'm off to bed as I've got an early shift tomorrow.

Friday Sketchers #55

Its been a while since I managed take part in a Friday Sketchers Challenge but I managed it this week! I have used papermania paper, daisy e-z rub ons from Royal & Langnickle (had 'em in my stash forever!) coredinations cs, nestabilities, little bee buttons from my stash, the sentiment is a papermania one and the image is Pretty Dottie from the Front to Back collection over at Charmed Cards & Crafts coloured with wc pencils (but no water added)TFL I'm now off to bed as I seem to have lost an hour somewhere so if anyone finds it please make good use of it!lol

2 challenges in 1 card

Seems like ages since I've sat down and made a card. This one started last night but I got to a certain point and couldnt get no further with it it just wasnt uite coming together right then I got up this morning looded at it and hey presto some new ideas came to me and I managed to get it finished and looking how I was expecting it to too! the challenge over at CCT was Nip & Punch - Get your punches and die-cuts out and at SCSC its BLING - we would like to see gems and sparklies on your creations. Ok so I didnt use gems but my papers (doddlebug Inc) are sparkly/glittery and my cs is papermania Gemstones (shiny bit like Bazzil Bling I think) so I hope that counts for bling and as for die cuts and punches well I loved this challenge as it made me think about and sort thru some bits and pieces that I havent looked at for a while! I have used the teddy sizzix die (green) amd the tags and number 1 are sizzix DoodleTag numbers & more set and then I added a couple of little punched teddies and the mats are of course nestabilities. The rectangle one at the back was going to be bigger but didnt have enough cs left so experimented and am actually quite pleased with the result, ribbon and breads from my stash. TFL - wow that was a long post! And now a quick apology from my previous post, I used abbreviations and didnt really stop and think that some people might not know them so PSE5 is Photoshop Elements 5 which I use for my digi scrapping and Netbook is my mini laptop, the screen is only 10inches wide and I love it, will post a pick of 'Samson' later.

Been playing with PSE5 on my netbook infront of the tv! and this is what I came up with! The kit is a freebie by Staceys Scraps called Circle of Life and the photos are of the rhinos from Woburn Safari Park. Hope you like it. TFL and now I'd better go to bed coz I'm on the early shift! oops!lol

Dotties World Prize

I'm sorry for being so late in posting this but life just kinda got in the way. This the fabulous prize I received from Dotties party, this was for taking part in the most challenges and I just adore what I received it is all so scrummy and I'm having to fight Ria off particularly from the K&Co adhesive chipboard! Might let her have a bit of it! if shes good!lol Anyway a huge thanks to all the wonderful ladies involved with Dotties World and thanks for a wonderful year I am now looking forward to another fantastic year with you all. xx

Dotties World Challenge - Coffee & Cream on Spots & Stripes

Fantastic challenge over at Dotties World and I have managed to do my usual and leave it to the last minute! Mind you work unexpectedly got in the way today! I have used Holly in the USA, the pre coloured version and then sepia toned it, torn and inked the edges, the papers are ShabbyPrincess Harvest Spice and my dots are in stripes (hope that counts!) added some flowers from my stash which have a bit of sakura stardust added to them and a tag and ribbon for good measure (just noticed my ribbon has stripes on too!lol). tfl

PTW - Scraps & ABC P is for Pearls

I have combined 2 challenges for this card but I think I'm just making it for PYW by default as the very talented DawnyP is taking over and the challenges are now moving to a Tuesday! and the other challenge is ABC P is for Pearls. Well I have used white, green and red pearls, scraps of paper from my BG Sugared pad, the background paper is a dark green with a gold sheen to it which doesnt really show in the picture and the image is Miss Anya that I won in some blog candy recently coloured using whispers and sakuras. Dotties World Challenge - Buttons & Beads

For this weeks challenge over at Dotties World I wanted to have a go at something different for me, I've seen this style of card about and really liked them so thought I'd give it a try. It looked like it shouldn't be too difficult but I seem to have made it difficult! lol Anyway here it is, the background paper is Raspberry Road Designs - Surreal and the fencing at the front is from George & The Dragon by A Work in Progress. The image is of course Holly in the Garden (another image I hadnt yet used) buttons are Amy Butler and the flowers and wire were in my stash and the little flower pots are an xcut punch I got in the sale a couple of weeks ago at half price. TFL.

CCT challenge # 61 Sporting Chance

When the challenge this week was Sporting Chance over at CCT I was spoilt for choice as to which image I was going to use and eventually I chose a wonderful Dottie image from Charmed Cards & Crafts which I havent actually managed to use yet, Swimming Dottie from the Fun Time Dottie collection. I coloured her using sakura glaze pens to try and give an impression of beign wet, the paper is papermania which I have had forever and after ripping and sticking I decided to edge wtih stickles 'frosted lace'. The fact that the mat and image are behind the 'waves' was by accident when I was moving them round trying to decide on placement the mat just slipped so I decided to go with it. Couldnt find a suitable sentiment so just added this in my own writing using a stardust pen and the flowers and brad are from my stash. TFL

No crafting today

Been to busy setting up and playing with my new netbook - a very cute and stylish black Samsung NC10 now named Samson or Sam for short! So busy I havent even gotten round to taking a photo yet but will do tomorrow. Ria and I have a homework day tomorrow, she's got school stuff and I've got work stuff! But no doubt I'll squeeze in a bit of craft too!

MTTC #62 Love & marriage

For this weeks challenge over at MTTC I have used a quote from the wonderful download 'Love & Marriage' by Sammi of Crafty Muse. It is such a lovely quote that I wanted to keep my card fairly simple. I cant remember whose the paper is I found in my draw of oddments then I printed the quote on some pale vellum and it is held in place with some gold outliners and I added the sentiment cherish at the bottom of the card. I guess the card be used for wedding or anniversary. TFL

Right thats me done for the night, I'm off for a cuppa and then to bed as I've got an early tomorrow so I might just get back here tomorrow night if I get anything made in the evening. Bye for now. x

A digi layout for a challenge

Over at Stacey's Scraps she is running a challenge from 25 May thru to 29 May and it is a template challenge. There is a prize of $20 to spend in her store too. Well as I havent done any scrapping for a while I thought this would be a good excuse. You have to use 90 percent of her kit/s on your layout, well mine is all hers using her freebie kit My Guy. The photos are of Ade but he hates his pic taken so have blurred his features to be able to upload this and the wonderful skate he caught back in March. TFL
