I'm so excited! :)

Why am I so excited?

Well today while I was out doing the boring grocery shopping Mr Postie delivered my new toy!

It was my birthday yesterday and on Sunday I won an ebay auction for a brand new Cricut Gypsy ~ Thank you Mum & Dad! so I was thrilled when it arrived today I think that is really good service so now I am finding my way round it and looking forward to learning all the different things it can do and now all I have to do is build up my collection of cartridges, so if I go MIA you will all know why! lol

Crafty Sentiments - Punches & or Dies

This week over at Crafty Sentiments Jan is our host and she has a fantastic theme of punches & or dies, what a great theme.  For my card I decided to have a play with Steampunk so I used the very handsome manga image (Jack) Lets Go Out which is available over at Crafty Sentiments Designs, coloured him with my copics taking my inspiration from the paper which is Dovecraft Funky Vintage, I tore and inked the edges of the image and mat layer.  I stamped some papermania urban stamps on to the paper and then added cs cogs cut with a spellbinders die and stamped a little pocket watch between them, the film strip is a sizzix die as is the ric rak which I threaded through the film strip and finished off with a sentiment cut on the Cricut using the Beyond Birthdays cartridge.  Pleased with how this turned out, think I might be begining to get the hang of this steampunk! (Mind you by the time I really get it sussed it will go out of fashion lol)
So that is what I did this week, please check out what the rest of the DT have provided for your inspiration they are wonderful and then don't forget to join us we love coming to visit you.

Just for you Mum!

This card came about following a conversation I had earlier on MSN with my Mum!  I was lucky enough to win the challenge over at Crafty Creations the other week and the prize was some digi images from Sew Many Cards and for this card I have used Harley Valentine, he is coloured with copics and I have used First Edition Papers ~ Daydreams with a little mirricard which I cut using my Cricut, I then added some ribbon and flowers from my stash, peeloff sentiment and the diamond in the centre of the flowers is some table confettii that my Mum collected a while ago.  Hope you like it Mum! lol

Clean & Simple

I cant believe how long it has taken me to put this card together, not because it was difficult but because of constant interruptions (he has now gone out fishing!lol) and then my Cricut wasnt cutting properly but its ok it turned out to be the blade so I have replaced that and all is well again!  Papers are Papermania Regency, background, butterflies cut with Cricut Paperlace cartridge and the sentiment printed directly to pp is from Sentimental Sundays and cut out using a Nellies Multi Frame and then put on foam pads for a little dimension finished off with a few pale pink rhinestones.  Not my usual style but I like it.

Crafty Sentiments - Lace & Pins

This week over at Crafty Sentiments its the turn of Caz to host and the theme is Lace & Pins.  Now lace & pins aren't something I use a lot of, so this was a bit challenging for me.  I only have 2 pieces of lace, actually make that one now! lol (the other bit is pink) I decided to make a flower with the lace using a circle of card and lots of ds tape.  I filled the centre with some crystal glaze and little white beads then added some more beads to my pins before backing them all with a flower shape cut with the Cricut, the main background is also cut with the Cricut as is the sentiment and butterfly (I'm really liking the paperlace cartridge, can you tell! lol) I glittered the butterfly and added it using a foam pad for extra dimension.  My image is Patches Looking Out from Crafty Sentiments Designs who has had a touch of copics added, cut with nesties then mounted onto another oval cut with nesties and embossed.

Well thats what I did, I hope you like it, now be sure to check out the fabulous work by my wonderful teamies it really is amazing and then join in with our lace & ins challange, we love popping by to see your creations.

Get well soon!

Well I had planned on having a crafty day today but it didnt really work out that way, never mind I have managed to make this Get Well Soon card.  I have used an adorable digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs called Porly Bun Bun Bear.  My colours came from the background paper by Shabby Princess which I came across in my papers drawer and it went from there.  Don't usually use a lot of orange but it kinda felt right for this card.  Coloured the image with copics and cut out using a nestie, the border is a Crafty Cutters die from Crafty Sentiments Designs, the corners, leaves and sentiment were cut using the Cricut and the flower and brad are from my stash.

My 2012

Well some of you may remember that last year I took part in the Heart Journal at TGF and when it finished promised myself I would do something else so I have decided to document my year on a monthly basis by means of a scrapbook and the idea is that thru the month I will take notes of what has been happening in my life, take pics and at the end of each month put together a 12x12 scrapbook page.  So for now here is my title page.  I bought the Papermania Portobello Road papers just because I love them and am hoping to get hold of the album too, my local shop sold out but then they only had 2! so waiting to see if they get some more in!  The tags are cut on my Cricut as are the numbers then I got stuck and after much thought I remembered some VERY old month rub ons well it took me about 20 mins to actually find them and then I began to wish I hadn't!  Some of them didn't work very well and I ended up having to write over them with a black pen but I got there in the end and hey presto my title page.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Paper Cutz #120 ~ For the new year
Allsorts #137 ~ Celebration of Nations

Crafty Sentiments ~ Anything Goes

Gosh another week gone!  That means its time for another challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and Jo has chosen a theme we know you all love and its 'Anything Goes' so no excuse not to join in the fun!  I have used another of the fabulous new release stamps, this time I have used 'Love Boat Bunnies' and the minute I saw this stamp I knew I wanted to use it for an anniversary card for my Mum & Dad, I have used the Cricut to cut out Happy Anniversary which I have added to the inside of the card as it really didnt work on the outside!  I have cut a panel for the background using my new Paperlace cartridge as it reminded me of waves then I mounted my image (available at Crafty Sentiments Designs) which is coloured with copics and a tiny bit of sakura on the water on top of the panel and then added a flower from my stash and some leaves cut with the Cricut.  Hope you like it.

Ria's first project of the new year

Ria and I came across 2 t-shirts that were of a one shoulder design, they were too small for me and too big and a bit old for Ria so she decided to recycle them and as one was green which is one of her friends favourite colours an idea for a bag sprung forth! So with some triming and fiddling and trying out new stiches for stretchy material this is the finished item which she has given to her friend for her birthday.  Both seem very pleased with the outcome and it is helping to build Ria's confidence with the sewing machine! (it wasn't the easiest thing to photograph either! lol)

Crafty Sentiments - Water Theme

This week the challenge over at Crafty Sentiments is a 'Water Theme' and several of the new releases work so well for this theme, I chose to use Annabel the Mermaid and I teamed her up with a 'swimming Billy' from an earlier release both available at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  They are coloured using copics, I added some stardust to Annabel and some crystal glaze to Billy.  The background paper is a piece from my scrap drawers that gave me the impression of water (sort of!)  To this I have added a sandcastle and some vines cut using my cricut and I have created a little underwater scene.  I dont often create scenes but really enjoyed putting this one together.

Dont forget to check out the rest of the amazing DTs work you will not be disappointed and then why not 'dip your toes in the water' and join us for the challenge.

Ooops - a happy mistake!

Yes a mistake!  There I was quite happily figuring out the different parts to my card so I put the Crafty Cutters border die (available from Crafty Sentiments Designs) thru my Big Shot admittedly with some quite thick cs thinking nothing of it, till it came out! Now it had cut around the edge but all the wee hearts and dots didn't get cut all the way through, so I'm hunting round for some more scrap cs to use as an extra shim to put it through again when I took another look and decided I actually really like how it looks, so keeping it that way I added it to my card (with a mental note to self that when using thicker cs add another shim if you want to cut it all the way through!) lol  I have used some more new stash on this card.  The image is '2 hearts' from the new stamp release over at Crafty Sentiments Designs, isn't it adorable? coloured with copics (of course!) The background paper is from the new Portobello Road collection by Papermania as are the sentiment stamps (2 different stamps)  I have to say I love this collection and back in 2000 I was studying in London and Portobello Road was my local market and I loved it!  Anyway I digress!lol the bow and button are from my stash.

I have coloured her using my copics and added a touch of stardust to her rattles.  The pale blue squares are embossed with the new folder and the corner and rattles are from Cricut cartridges, paper is from a freebie pack and the alphabet ribbon is from my stash.

Crafty Sentiments - Love and Romance

Well here we are back for the first challenge of the year over at Crafty Sentiments, which is Love & Romance.  Hope you all had a great festive period and are now raring to go in 2012.  Crafty Sentiments Designs has a new release of stamps for your pleasure and they are adorable as I'm sure you will agree when you visit the other DT members blogs.  For my card I have used 'Gypsy Heart', coloured her with my copics and added some gold gel pen and sakura stardust, I have also crystal glazed her crystal ball!  I have also used one of the Crafty Cutters border dies also available at Crafty Sentiments Designs and used the 'waste' from the die to add rivets to her treasure chest and as hearts and jewels around her feet, (time consuming but really like the effect!) The red paper is from a digi kit called DirtyLove by JZ designs and the sentiment is computer generated.
Isnt she adorable?  Dont forget to check out what the rest of the DT have been up to, you wont be disappointed, then join in with the challenge, we love coming round to see what you are creating.
