Coming Back As A Man

Just thought I'd share with the card I have made to enter the Facebook Challenge over at The East Wind where the challenge was to be inspired by a song,  I was originally going to use American Beauty/American Psycho by Fall Out Boy but when I was scrolling through my itunes I happened across The Shocking Miss Emerald album and 1 song just jumped out at me ~ Coming Back As A Man' and I knew then that I was going to use the wonder TEW image 'Lucy Loo Mad Hatter' and I had great fun colouring her in.  I also remembered that I had a piece of ribbon left that would fit perfectly with the image.  Then I decided to go with Kraft/red/black colour combo.  The ticket border is cut on the Cricut using Elegant Edges and I finished off with a wooden hat to which I added some red ribbon and a few brads and black pearls.  A little out of the box I know but that's what challenges are all about.

Crafty Catz Challenge #276 ~ Things with Wings

Good morning!  Well today is the start of my 3 day weekend Yipee! so I shall hopefully get lots of time to craft (that's my plan anyway! lol we shall see!)  So as it's Friday that means time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this time it's the turn of the wonderful Nick to choose the theme and she has chosen one that will delight lots of you, Things with Wings, and we have 2 fabulous sponsors for you this week it's

AND

The  prize will be a 10$ Gift voucher.

Now I have to admit my mojo kinda took a break this week, so hope it comes back this weekend!  After lots of paper pushing and hair pulling I remembered a cut on the Cricut Paperlace cartridge that had lots of butterflies so that is what I went with and initially was going to go with a classic black and white version (maybe another day!) but in the end went with this one, I hope you like it.  The sentiment is also from the same cartridge, I must add that once I'd decided to go down the route of using the cricut it was a very quick card to make.  Be sure to check out my Teamies as their mojos certainly haven't been on a break!

Boy oh Boy!

Hi there! Did you all have a good weekend?  Mine went ok considering I worked 2 long days with a sleep in in between them!  Anyway when I got home yesterday I was just too tired to post this card so I'm doing it now!  I used an old TGF stamp called 'Tank' that I have had for a while coloured with copics and spectrum pens and pencils to match the stripey paper which is from Raspberry Road Designs 'Suburban Boy' kit.  I teamed it up with some green, orange and black cs.  The orange cs I embossed with cogs. Mats for the image are cut on the Cricut using Elegant Edges, the cogs and diamond strips are die cuts and I finished off with a stamped sentiment, some green gems and a green brad. Hope you like him.

A Good Book

Good morning, I just thought I'd share my latest project with you.  I finished it late last night but was just too tired to up load it!  I have made a bookmark for a friend at work as we were chatting about books and it turns out she is a 'page folder'! Oh No!  turning down the pages is not something we do, infact Ria can read a brand new book without putting a fold or crease in the spine, most of her books if they are not second hand are in pristine condition despite being read several times.  I have even known her in a book shop ask them if they have another copy of something if the cover is creased or damaged! lol Anyway back to my project I have used a fabulous image from TEW 'Lucy Loo Bookaholic' thought it was the perfect image for a bookmark.  She is coloured with copics and spectrum pencils. I have backed it with a scrap from DCWV Natural Stack, added a cream eyelet to strengthen the hole for the funky fibres.

Crafty Catz Challenge #274 ~ 2 or more patterned papers

OOoops!  I'm late!  But I'm here finally with my DT card for this weeks new challenge over at Crafty Catz where this week it is the turn of our wonderful Cindy to host and she has chosen the fab theme of 2 or more patterned papers and our fabulous sponsor this week is ...
prize...7 images of winners choice

Now when I first started crafting and making cards I really struggled putting papers together particularly patterned papers but then I came across fabulous designers particularly digi designers who make their kits and make sure that the papers work together, really made my life easier!  And I have used 2 papers on this card from the fabulous but unfortunately no longer trading Donna of Bearly Mine Designs.  ( I have quite a few of her kits on my pc! lol)  And I have found that they do team up rather well with the wonderful digi images from Bugaboo.  This card uses 'Flower Garden' from Bugaboo, our super generous sponsor and papers from 'Spring Delights' and 'Christmas Wishes' by Bearly Mine Designs.  The image is coloured with copics.  The little bird, rolled flowers and sentiment shape are all cut on the Cricut then I have added die cut butterflies, liquid pearls and a little clay ladybird.

Colouring on Kraft

Now colouring on Kraft is not something I do very often but The East Wind have a Facebook challenge going on at the moment which is to colour on Kraft so I thought I'd join in the fun.  The image I chose is Lucy Loo Maui Maui and is one I treated myself to the other weekend when Unky was having a sale.  I have used my spectrum noir pencils to colour the image and I'm really pleased with how she turned out, the only problem was that once she was coloured I had no idea what papers I was going to use to make a card, I'd just coloured as I felt which meant I have spent ages trying to decide on the papers and just as I was giving up I came across whats left of my MME Kraft Funday Happy Days pad and used a couple of pieces from there, the smaller piece is actually yellow background with Kraft dots but it doesn't show up too well.  Embellished with some Prima Tiny Tots, yellow bakers twine, flower charm and a stamped sentiment.

And a close up of Lucy Loo

Ninja Inspiration

Hi there, just thought I'd share this easel card I've made using a fabulous new image from the pen of Unky over at The East Wind, as soon as I saw this image I had to have it! I have coloured her using copics and spectrum pens and pencils she is then matted on to some gold mirriboard which has been cut on the Cricut using Elegant Edges.  The papers are from Raspberry Road Designs Always Asia.  For the sentiment I cut that on the Cricut using Home Decor using the red dp and then cut the shadow using gold mirriboard, the i's are dotted using small gold brads and then I finished off by using the 'waste' from the mat.  Kept this simple to let the image speak for itself really, love how it turned out.  The mirriboard does make it difficult to get good pictures though!

And now for a close up of the gorgeous image

And finally the sentiment
