A little thank you

Just recently through parts of the summer holidays Ria has been spending some time doing work experience at local vets and she asked me if I could make some Thank You cards and having seen a card I made for an upcoming post she knew just what image she wanted me to use so here is the first one.  I'm sorry it's not a very good picture as the papers have a bit of a sheen to them.  I decided to go with a C&S monochromatic card.

The swirls at the top, middle and bottom of the card are cut with an Xpress Border Die, the circles are spellbinders and I added faux stitching, the image is 'Bandaged Up' and is from Crafty Sentiments Designs and is coloured with spectrums and the card is finished with a peel off sentiment.

Crafty Catz #244 ~ Recycle It

OOps so sorry but I am running somewhat late today, by the time I got to work yesterday and realised it was Thursday and my laptop was at home and I was on a sleepin it was just too late to rectify, also was a little bit caught up in nerves on behalf of Ria as it was AS results day yesterday too!  But she did us and herself proud and attained 3 A's in English Lang, Biology and Geography and 1 D in Chemistry.  To be fair she was expecting a poor result for the Chemistry as it had been an extremely hard exam and she plans to resit it. But we are just so proud of her. :-)

Anyway back to today, as it's Friday (ok I know 1/2 of the day has gone already! lol) which means time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this time the talented Ingrid has challenged us (and you) to 'Recycle It' and we are sponsored by ...
PRIZE ......$15 GC to the Fred She Said Store.

Now you really should check out all the amazing projects by the DT ladies, they totally rocked this challenge.  I always get worried about recycling challenges, dunno why I've always got lots of recycled buttons and ribbon but wanted to try a little different.  While I was trying to think of something to do I came across this sentiment which I got as a freebie a long time ago from Sentimental Sundays and that was then I remembered an old road atlas tucked away on a shelf and thought it would work well. I also liked Naomi's sketch from a couple of weeks ago so used it again, I finished off with some small green gems and a butterfly from my stash.  It has already found a home in Ria's bedroom! lol

So Charming with the Divas

Hi there, well here we are it's Wednesday so that means a new challenge over at Divas By Design and this week we are looking to see your charms and our fabulous sponsor is

For my project this week I have made a card that I have lifted from one a very good friend sent me.  I have always loved her original card but not been brave enough to try it until now and I am so glad I did.  I used my new First Editions Blank Canvas papers and cut the frame using my Cricut.  The stem is actually the handle of a broom stamp! and the leaves are by I can't remember! lol the flower is also cut on the Cricut from the same papers and then topped off with a button and some twine, I used the same twine lower down the card and attached a small leaf charm, then I got brave and stamped a small sentiment directly to the paper.  Love how this turned out and Heather if you are looking, thanks for the wonderful inspiration x

Crafty Catz #243 ~ Lazy Days of Summer

Good morning it's time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this time the theme is 'Lazy Days of Summer' and has been chosen by the wonderful Nina.  We have a fabulous sponsor in the shape of
gif maker

Now for my card this week I remembered a digi stamp that I had from Charmed Cards & Crafts designed by Louise Brigden that I have had for a very long time (I have lots of her images!  They were the first ones that I got into when starting my card making journey) and I teamed Peggy Pig up with some new papers I bought last week, First Edition ~ Blank Canvas, the sentiment on the front is cut on the Cricut using papers from the pad too and I finished off with some gems and some funky fibres (again I've had this for ages! lol).

for the inside I generated the sentiment on the pc and matted it with the same papers and fibres used on the front.
I'm really pleased with how this turned out, the bright bold colours are so summery, I hope you can find the time to play along with us this week.
