A little bit of fun

Hi there got a quick card to share today, recently I made a card using the fab Bugaboo 'Stella drown your troubles image and sentiment'  I sent it to my mum who loved it and so did my aunt.  She loved it so much she asked me for another 4!  So here is one of those 4.  I am actually differing the layout, colours etc and it's fun to see how different they look and I'm sure you will see them appear here over time! lol

Anyway this one I went with a blue/black colours scheme and kept it simple, the image is coloured with spectrums and a little bit of sakura stardust then just added some little gems.

NEW RELEASE AT CRAFTY SENTIMENTS DESIGNS

Good morning, I hope its bright and sunny where you are today, its lovely here in Dorset and I'm enjoying a well deserved couple of days off work but I have totally lost track of time and where in the month I am and for that reason I am a day late sharing with you my project showcasing a fabulous new set of stamps from Crafty Sentiments Designs,  I know I say this a lot but you are going to love these stamps!  Now today is day 3 of our 3 day preview and you really need to pop over to the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog to check out the fabulous projects made by my talented DT teamies, they really are a bunch of awesome crafters.  The fabulous 4 new stamps will be available to buy at the Crafty Sentiments Designs Store tomorrow and I'm sure they will be flying out the door real quick so don't forget to grab yours!

So onto my project, I have used the adorable 'By the Sea' and coloured with a mix of copics, spectrums and spectrum pencils. I thought this little man would make the ideal front piece for an album filled with summer memories.  The covers are made from mountboard and a tip for those of you who would like to use mountboard more but can be put off by the price, pop along to your local picture framers and ask if they have any offcuts they are throwing out.  (They often have to pay to get rid of it!) I came away from the framers last week with a fantastic amount including some 12x12 pieces.  Anyway back to my project, I covered the mountboard with some digi paper that I have had for years and is from a collaboration kit called Take a Dip by Digi Designs By Nicole (I don't actually know if she is still trading this kit goes back to 2009), the lettering is a quickcutz alpha and the shells are cut on the Cricut.  I got out my trusty Bind-it-All to put it all together and then added some ribbon and string to decorate the bind, finished off the decoration using some gems.

Crafty Catz #236 ~ Stitches

Good morning it's Friday and time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week our wonderful Naomi has chosen the theme of stitches (real or faux) and we have a fabulous sponsor for you in the shape of the

Prize 3 digi images

So for my card this week I ummed and ahhed about how I would add my stitching, should I draw it on..No! I could use my embossing folder ...No  or how about some die cut stitches? No ...No none of these were hitting the mark so that meant it was time to get the sewing machine out from under its cover and some boxes of scraps of card!  So out it came and real stitching appeared on my card!  The thing is I actually like it just don't think to do it very often, lol  I used a fabulous image from Dilly Beans, coloured with copics and spectrums and as you can see I've been playing around with hair colour again.  The large piece of paper is from the Santoro pad by Trimcraft and it is glittered, the smaller piece is from a very old K&Co pad but not sure which as the cover is now non-existant! and I stitched round this to attach it. The flower is from my stash and I added a little skull brad and a tag with a small bird stamped on it.  Finished of with a stamped sentiment.

Crafty Catz #234 ~ Inspired by a Song

Good morning all, it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and it's my turn to choose the theme so I hope you are all in good singing voice because I chose the theme of  'Inspired by a Song'.  We have a fabulous sponsor this week too ...

I have to admit I had great fun making this card both because of the fabulous Bugaboo image and sentiment and the song that inspired it!  The image is coloured with copics and spectrums with a little stardust pen added here and there.  Some black cs and the paper is from Raspberry Road Designs.  I kept it simple because every time I tried to add some embellishment it really didn't work! lol  And can you guess my song choice? ...

Well it just had to be 'Itsy, Bitsy, Teenie Weenie, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini' lol

.

So for my card this week I used one of the newer stamps available over at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  This little cutie is called 'Hey There' and ain't she just the cutest.  I've coloured the image with a mix of copics, spectrum pens and tried to add some definition with my new spectrum pencils.  The papers are PM Portobello Road and I used some red cs and a couple of JS banner dies and I used a couple of spelbinder dies for the sentiment which is a wood mounted stamp from I don't know where! lol

Time for a little gardening

The other day I heard about The East Wind challenge blog so I took a visit and signed up for their newsletter and received this wonderful freebie 'Aurora Gardening' and just had to go ahead and use it to enter their challenge of embossing and this is the result!

I coloured using spectrums and added some definition using the pencils (still needs a lot of practice but I like the effect I'm starting to acheive) and I had a great time colouring her hair in pinks. The background paper is from Crafts Too pad, the embossed cs is yellow whitewashed coredinations embossed with a new darice folder, the sentiment was heat embossed and the card was finished off with JS butterflies and liquid pearls.

Anything Goes with Crafty Sentiments

Oh wow do we have an awesome prize for you this week over at Crafty Sentiments.  Our challenge is 'Anything Goes' and the prize is ...
and this cd is packed full of fantastic printables and images so for my project this week I chose to use some elements from the cd.

As you can see I made a total of 3 items.  The first is a cute pillow box which all you have to do is print, cut, fold and stick together and your ready to go!  but of course you can add whatever embellishments you want to, I added some glitter to the cake and some 3d glaze to the cherry on top.

Then I made 2 cards, using Photoshop Elements I added elements from the cd to a paper from the cd and used sentiments from the cd too and after printing them off (in different sizes) I added glitter and 3d glaze to the cute little pre coloured image, hey presto 2 cards.  I thought about it afterwards and thought how great this would be for making party invites and thank you cards, so the possibilities are endless.

Such a cutie

Now I've had this cute little critter from The Paper Shelter in my collection for quite sometime but have never gotten round to using him, until today that is!  Coloured with spectrums and copics, papers are a very old K&Co Bailey pad and I used some very old silver peeloffs and some buttons and twine from my stash and finished by being very brave for me and stamping my sentiment direct to my background paper, pleased with how it turned out.

My first spectrum pencils card!

So my 2 sets of Spectrum pencils arrived, the primaries and essentials, but my paper stubs haven't arrived yet!  So I thought I'd have a bit of a play anyway, certainly needs more practice but I felt happy enough to make a card with my first effort.  The papers are Craft Creations XOXO, teamed with some Kraft cs and I finished off with part of the Starburst die cut from JS.

Crafty Catz #232 ~ Embossing

Good morning, well this is the start to my 3 day weekend, unfortunately I'm back at work on Monday! lol but I do intend to get some crafting fitted in as I've just had a lovely order from Crafters Companion of 2 sets of the Spectrum Noir pencils so I really do NEED to have a play! But back to business and as it's Friday that means it's time for a wonderful new challenge with the Crafty Catz and this week it is the turn of our wonderful Christine to choose the theme and this week it's 'EMBOSSING'  wet or dry, so a nice easy one for you this week.  We have the wonderful  FITZTOWN sponsoring us this week

PRIZE.....3 digis of their choice.

For my card I have used a Fitztown image 'Wild 8' and in photoshop I inverted the image to get the white on black and I printed it off quite large as I really did want the image to be the focal point.  I mounted the image on to some white cs and then mounted this onto a piece of embossed black cs, embossed using a sizzix texture plate 'weave' then I finished off with some black & white gingham ribbon and a little die cut ribbon slider with a stamped sentiment and one small white brad.

Anything Goes with Divas By Design

Good afternoon, I must apologise as I am somewhat late with this post we are still having major internet issues and having had a 5th engineer out today only to be told the fault definitely lies with BT we are now waiting a 6th engineer!  Hopefully they will be coming tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath!

Anyway I digress! lol today saw the start of a brand new challenge over at Divas By Design and this week the theme is 'Anything Goes' and we have a fab prize from ...
Bunny Zoes

For my card I used the cute 'Cow Girl' from The Paper Shelter, coloured with Spectrums and Copics.  The burlap paper is from Raspberry Road Designs and the red/white check paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and the rolled flowers have been cut from the same paper.  The edges have all been distressed.  Sentiment is cut on the cricut and I finished off with some eyelets and hessian twined.  Rather like the rustic feel I have managed to get here.

Inspired by Music/Song with Crafty Sentiments

Good morning, well this week over at Crafty Sentiments it was my turn to choose the theme and after a quick delve into the world of the web I found that this month in New Zealand it is Music Month so I thought music/songs would be a great starting point so we'd love to see your projects that are inspired by music/songs, but don't forget to tell us what the music or song is.  Our prize for this week is ...

For mine I chose the song 'Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon' by The Kinks and I thought this wonderful image from the Fathers Day Stamp Set, which is available at the Crafty Sentiments Designs Store, was just perfect.  I have used it to make a calendar page.  I printed it out 3 times so that I could decoupage parts of it to give extra dimension, coloured with a mixture of copics and spectrums.  Paper is from Bearly Mine Designs ~ Just Plaids ~ and I have added some leafy ribbon and calendar page and a sentiment cut on the Cricut.

So that's what I've made and now it's over to you.

Crafty Sentiments Designs New Release stamps

Good morning!  Well today sees the start of preview days for the brand new stamps from Crafty Sentiments Designs and wow you are not going to be disappointed!  There are 6 fabulous new stamps and they will be available for purchase from the 22 May but the DT have been working hard and there are 3 days of previews for your pleasure.

My preview for today is 'Isobel I Love Flowers' and I thought this was the ideal time to decorate a new bag that I picked up recently.  I love these jute bags so to find one that had a fab little pocket for a photo on it just seemed to be calling out to me.  It was a great little price too £4.99.  So I started by covering the piece of backing board with some gorgeous Shabby Princess paper.  I coloured Isobel with a mix of copics and spectrums and I used some sparkly orange coredinations cs for the heart die cut and corner die cuts, I used a selection of flowers, leaves and gem strands in one corner, some organza ribbon and a little wooden butterfly in another and finished off with a VERY old bookplate for the sentiment.  Once it was all put together all I had to do was slide it into the pockct and now I can change the decoration of my bag to suit my mood or outfit! lol  I had great fun making this and the stamp is a sheer delight to use and colour.  I hope you have fun seeing all the upcoming previews just pop over to the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration Blog to see how busy the DT have been.
