Crafty Sentiments ~ Bookmarks

Ooops it seems I am somewhat late with my post today, I thought I'd sheduled but it seems to have gone amiss somewhere out there in the ether!  Never mind better late than never!lol  This week over at Crafty Sentiments we would love to see your bookmarks.  For my bookmark I have used the image of Primrose 'A Good Book' which is available at the Crafty Sentiments Design Store, I have coloured her using copics and she is mounted on some cs printed with digi paper from Raspberry Road Designs and I have used an oval nestie to get the top shape, using the out of the box technique.  Ria has already claimed the bookmark! lol mind you she is an avid reader.

Now don't forget to check out the fabulous work by the other DT members and as it is now so close to Christmas we will be taking a short break but will be back with another new challenge and new images on Tuesday 3 January so you get 2 weeks to join in with this challenge.

Christmas Sparkle

I really enjoyed making this card but did get covered in glitter in the process! lol  Just plenty of white cs some of which is embossed with swiss dots, borders punched with Tonic Studios punches, then the punch outs glittered with glamour dust, corners cut with Cricut and the  image is from Charming Christmas available at Charmed Cards & Crafts to which I have added only a tiny amount of colour and then added the glamour dust finished off with some white organza ribbon and a snowflake brad.

Holly Pixie

Just a quick and simple card for today.  I used a pre coloured Holly pixie from the Pixies 1 collection available at Charmed Cards & Crafts to which I added some skaura stardust and glamour dust.  The upturned flower pot that she is sitting on it cut from a Cricut cartridge and then I inked it to give it a bit of a used look.  The pixie is mounted on foam pads for extra depth and the background paper is Bo Bunny.  Like I said a simple card but I really like how it turned out.

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 21 ~ I 'heart'

So this weeks prompt for the TGF journal was I 'heart' and  I decided not to go with how much I love my family etc as for me that is a given so instead I took a snap shot of some of the things I 'heart' at this moment in time and that is how my page was born this week.  I used a sentiments from Sentimental Sundays which I gave a glow in PSE5, then I cut several hearts using my Cricut out of some scraps of cs which I then wrote on and finally filled up the gaps with various peeloffs! Simple but fun to do and it will be interesting in years to come to see how my passions may have changed! lol

The last of Ria's presents made!

Ok this is the last of Ria's makes, she should now be able to post anything she makes onto her blog in future as she makes things instead of hijacking mine! lol  This time she used the blank covers from a Papermania chipboard album and covered it with some blue digi paper that I had stored on my pc from a long time ago! Then she went a bit mad with the Cricut! This is an album for her friend who has rather a cute bunny and Ria knows she has plenty of pics of him so thought this would be the perfect place for them, I suspect Lydia will agree! lol  A simple little book but effective.

Crafty Sentiments - Purple & Green

Now before I get onto this weeks challenge for Crafty Sentiments, I must remind you about the SALE that is going on right now over at CRAFTY SENTIMENTS DESIGNS, dont miss out!

Right this week the challenge at Crafty Sentiments has been set by the lovely Jan and she would like us all to use PURPLE & GREEN I love this colour combo!  For my card I have used some old Papermania papers and coloured cs.  My image is the cute Let It Snow digi stamp which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs, I used my copics and then went mad with my pots of glitter!  The sentiment has been stamped using purple ink and cut out using a Crafty Cutters Vintage Die Lable also available at Crafty Sentiments Designs and the ribbon came free with a magazine this month.

Ria has been making bookmarks for some more of her friends (she also made a matching bag charm to go with the blue flower bookmark but wrapped it before I had chance to take a pic! lol)  These are really pretty irl and not sure that the pics do them justice the are not easy to get good pics of.

It takes her a little while to plan her presents because she likes to think about what each friend likes but her final pieces are always beautiful (and yes I know I'm biased but they really are! lol)

More of Ria's projects

Ria has been busy recently with revising and exams but has squeezed in some gift making too.  Here I am showcasing 2 wall plaques one is quite steampunkish and the other is a cute girly one but they are a variation on a theme.  The images are Tickled Pink and TGF, papers are DCWV Natural stack (steampunk one) to which she has added some stamped images too, First Edition Papers Hideaway for the cute girly one.

Heavy Work ...

... thats the name of this cute image from the Santa's Little Helpers collection from Charmed Cards and Crafts.  I have used a precoloured digi stamp as I just loved the colours and had just the right papers to match it (from Raspberry Road Designs).  I love it when a card comes together that well!  It doesnt happen to me very often! lol  Just added some pearls and ribbon from my stash and job done!

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 20 ~ I have a dream

Another page I struggled with this week, I really could not get anything to come together until I remembered some printed vellum I bought ages ago just because I liked it!  Didnt know what I was going to do with it but there you go! lol  Anyway I thought it might just work for me this week.  I cut various sentiments using the Cricut and then fixed them to the reverse side of the vellum for a more muted look, then attached my 'dream Big' to the front and got carried away with my wc pencils and colouring in the flowers on the vellum!  I must say that I am pleased with the end result.  Only 3 more weeks of the Journal to go now too.

The sentiments for this are Live well, Laugh often and Love but it was really hard to get decent pics.  As always thanks for joining us on our Journal Journey. xx

Another one done!

Yes another Christmas card for the pile.  This time I have used some Bo Bunny papers  I won last year, I love the vintage feel to these.  The sentiment is cut with the Cricut from some gold card the same as the card base.  It is quite sparkly irl but doesnt show in the picture! ribbon is from my stash.

Non Christmas!

Ok in the flurry of card making I have managed to find a little time to make a revision book for Ria, I made some a while ago but she has now decided she would like one more (for the moment anyway!)  So here it is.  Cute TGF image, coloured with copics, paper is Raspberry Road Designs Butterfly Dreams and the sign, flowers and leaves are Cricut.

Crafty Sentiments ~ Snowflakes

This week over at Crafty Sentiments Shell is our host with a fab theme of 'snowflakes' so lets see all your snowflakes.  My card this week is very sparkly and was very hard to get a decent pic off but I tried!  I have used the wonderful stamp 'Gone Sledging' available at Crafty Sentiments Designs and I have coloured the image usng my copics and added a tiny bit of glamour dust to the coat and boots.  My background is a piece of black holographic card, then I have used some silver holographic card for the icicles (Marianne Creatables die) and for the snowflakes (Cricut Doodlecharms)I have cut the plain black card using a Crafty Cutters die (Crafty Sentiments Designs Vintage Lable) and then I found some fibres that you iron to melt them together I think they are called Angel Hair but I'm not sure.  So this card really does sparkle in the light!

3 for 1

Well I was thinking about away of speeding up my christmas card making and thought I always try and make each card different but as I still need to do quite a few I thought I ought to make some duplicates so that is how these cards came about.  I bought the tall card blanks quite a while ago and really dont seem to use them very often so I decided that Toy Soldier George from the Bumper Digital Christmas Collection from Charmed Cards and Crafts would be the ideal image and what was even quicker was that these images come pre coloured (bonus! lol)  the papers are by Raspberry Road Designs and I have had them for ages and love them for Christmas cards then it was just a case of adding some presents and labels (cut with Cricut) and hey presto.  Now I shall be going through all my images and seeing about some more quick cards!  Sorry about the poor quality of the pic couldnt quite get the lighting right today.

Another one done!

Yep another Christmas card made and yes I used the Cricut (the JOY banner), papers are all MME (glittered) and a little piece of embossed cs.  The image is a digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs and I added some little red gems to his holly and used clear stardust on his scarf and hat band which doesn't really show in the pic then finished off with some flat backed pearls.  I'm a little undecided with this one, one glance I like it the next I dont and then back again! (theres no pleasing some people!lol)

Christmas is coming ....

.... and I need to get more cards made! lol  Todays card believe it or not uses the Cricut! lol I have used it for the phrase, the holly leaves and the slotted diamonds which I have then threaded onto some gold ribbon.  Papers are all MME and then added some gems for berries.  Seems strange not having a stamped image!  I have used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp and just realised that I haven't stamped! doh! lol  Still I like the sketch!

One of Ria's projects

Ria is making her gifts for friends at school this year but she can't put them on her blog incase the friends happen to stop by!  So she is sharing my blog for the time being to showcase her staff! lol  She has used a Papermania Bare Basics board book cover to make an album for a friend who is in to her photography.  Papermania paper for the background, a TGF digi image Audrey who she has coloured with copics and done a little paperpiecing too.  Peeloffs for the letters and then she has been using the Cricut for the Smile sentiment and hearts and finished off with a wooden button that has been glazed.

Gone Cricut Crazy! lol

Oh yes I have been having fun playing with my new toy! lol  This is such an awesome piece of kit and I kinda went a bit crazy with this card!  I have used an image which is actually as a freebie available for this week only over at Crafty SentimentsDesigns isn't he cute?  I've coloured him with my copics and then matted him onto gold embossed card, the tree paper is a piece of MME and the snowflake paper is from my stash.  Then I set the Cricut to work.  The snowflake border is from  Doodlecharms, the individual snowflakes are from Christmas Cheer and the For You is from Walk In My Garden, see told you I went a bit crazy! lol

Ok I am officially a VERY VERY happy bunny, on Wednesday I went to see a great friend of mine who is a crafty friend and she passed onto me a wonderful item ... A Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter as she has upgraded and ... she has lent me some cartridges to allow me to get started too, how wonderful a friend is she!  And ... I'm on leave now until Sunday 11 December so I have time to play too!  Yes a VERY VERY happy bunny!

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 19 ~ Chaos

The theme this week for The Greeting Farm Heart Journal is 'Chaos' and this got me thinking about how quite often whats going on inside my head feels like and often is chaos that I have to make sense of so that is how my page came into being.  I have used a wonderful digi stamp from Charmed Cards and Crafts from their Let It Shine collection as this summed up my feelings in picture form and then I just jotted down some of the thoughts that swirls around in my head!  But I did have to add my antidotes too! lol.  Enjoy.

Crafty Sentiments ~ A recipe

This week over at Crafty Sentiments the lovely Hazel is our host and she has provided us all with a recipe which goes like this ~ 1 ribbon, 2 images and 3 papers.  So I set to and then realised that I had actually ended up using 3 iamges (whoops lol)  I have used the stamps 'Primrose and the snowman', 'Christmas Fun' and 'Sledging', thought they all went together nicely to give a fun in the snow sort of theme to the card and they are all available at the Crafty Sentiments Design Store.  Used copics to colour and added several different colours of glitter.  Papers are I think Papermania and matted onto some gold holographic card.  Finished off with a gold snowflake charm on my little piece of ribbon.

New stamps and a masculine card

Ok I treated myself to some new stamps on Tuesday while I was in Dorchester after a training session for work!  Its the new papermania Urban stamps I only got 2 of the 4 sets (for the time being!lol) at first I was a bit dissapointed when I inked them up as the ink didnt seem to hold to the rubber and I wasnt getting a good stamped impression then I remembered reading an article in the December issue of Papercraft Inspirations about conditioning your new rubber stamps which basically involves rubbing an eraser over the stamp before use, so I tried this and now they are stamping beautifully!  So I had some fun with them and the result is my card which is a bit vintagey and a bit steampunikish but all in all I really like it.  Ria likes it so much she is doing a version of it as a piture for a friend for christmas so will let you see her version when its finished.  Anyway on to my card I have used the stamps and papers from the DCWV Natural stack and my image is a digi stamp which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs and is called (Jack) ~ Lets go out, and he is coloured with copics as is the little peeloff sentiment.

TGF Heart Journal ~ week 18 ~ Mothers &/or Fathers

Well for this weeks TGF Heart Journal I have gone with the Mothers part of the theme and added and thier daughters as I really wanted to use the photo of the 4 generations of my family and when Ria and I were looking at it we worked out that there is 1 great grandma, 2 Nans, 3 Mums, 3 Daughters, 2 granddaughters and 1 great granddaughter!  I also used some vintage Christmas postcard paper from Bo Bunny as the picture was taken at Christmas and I wanted to convey the passage of time too.  Hope you like it.

Crafty Sentiments ~ Use some metal

This week over at Crafty Sentiments its Jo who is our host and the challenge is to use 'metal' which isn't as difiicult as it sounds at first, I mean there are brad, eyelets and charms for starters.  I used a brad but then I took it a bit further and looked around the room at what else I had that was metal and there sat in front of me was a coke can and yes I used it!  After washing it out and cutting it with an old craft knife and some kitchen scissors I had some small panels which I then run thru the Big Shot using a snowflake quikcutz die and hey presto I had me some shiny snowflakes but they looked a bit flat so I put them back thru the Big Shot in an embossing folder and now my snowflakes have texture too!  For my image this week I have used 'Warm Wishes' from the Primrose Winter collection which is available at the Crafty Sentiments Designs Store and I coloured her with my copics added some glitter to the snow and fluffy bits, matted the image onto some silver mirriboard then placed that on some deep red cs which I embossed with snowflakes, the ribbon and brad are from my stash.  For anyone not yet had a go at crafting with a coke can I can recommend it just be careful as the edges can be a bit on the sharp side.
