Crafty Sentiments ~ Birthdays

Ok the challenge this week over at Crafty Sentiments is BIRTHDAYS, so a nice easy one for you all.   I have used the gorgeous Patches stamp with his balloons available at the Crafty Sentiments Store.  I have paper pieced patches and the balloons and decided to keep the colours fairly neutral and a tad masculine although I think this will be suitable for anyone of any age.  I did add some shading to Patches using my trusty copics!  The bottom of the image has been cut using a Nellie's Multi frame's die which I bought whilst on holiday last week, the  papers are also new I have used DCWV Natural Stack with foil.  I just fell in love with this stack when I saw it so you are either going to see lots of it or not so much as I just want to stroke it! lol!!  I added the build a brad using an off cut of the card and the sentiment ticket is from Crafty Sentiments store and I coloured it with copics after printing it off.   I hope you can join us this week and we have a great sponsor too 'Hope Jacare'  'Go on You know You Want to!'

A touch of fantasy digi

Another digi tonight but this time a card which I will print out when I get home.  I have used a digi kit by Mel Lightbulb Moments called Chocolite and the image and sentiment are from Charmed Cards & Crafts.  For those who saw my layout involving the sea where I tried to have the sentiment cut into the background - I have now found a style for Photoshop CS4 that allows me to do this so I just had to use it for this card! lol

Another digi layout

I have completed another digi layout tonight using a photo taken in Canterbury back in 2007 outside the theatre where we went to see Starlight Express (which was amazing!) My inspiration for this one is the sketch at Sketch Saturday but I have a feeling I may be to late to enter but I am still pleased with the result.  The papers are from a freebie kit called 'Bohemian' by Sweet Blossom Designs and the elements are from a kit called 'Numbers' again by Sweet Blossom Designs.

A digi layout.

I've been playing around with photoshop this week and put together this little layout,I kept it simple but have used some layers on the photo, I was trying to get the sentiment (which is from Sentimental Sunday)  to look like it was carved out of the paper but not quite got it right then I wanted to have the effect of the photo printed on canvas which I think I acheived.  The wood effect background paper is a freebie from Far Away Hill and the other elements are from another freebie kit by AWP.  Hope you like it.

Crafty Sentiments ~ Spring

Ok this week over at Crafty Sentiments our theme is 'Spring' which is just round the corner (I hope!)  I'm starting to get fed up with the cold, dull and damp days we are having and its time we saw some sun and warmth so this week as I am actually away from my craft room I decided to put together a digi scrapbook page.  I found this photo which I took in my mums garden back in April 2009 and thought it would be a good starting point, next I used some digi ginham paper (available at the Crafty Sentiments Store) and I used digi stamp 'Flopsy with Flower' (available at the Crafty Sentiments Store) and stamped on the paper with it then isolated the flower and stamped with that in 2 sizes.  I also used the image on the label and coloured just the flower.  The ribbon, label and leaves are from digi kit Petticoat Lane by AWP and the flowers are from Shades of Happy by AWP.  So now its over to you guys, show us what you have to offer us for 'Spring', "Go on You know You want to!"

Crafty Sentiments ~ Lemon & Lilac

Here we are its Thursday so that must mean a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week its a colour callenge LEMON & LILAC, a gorgeous colour combination as I am sure you will agree.  Well I have used one of the new digi stamps, Violet and coloured her with copics and I have also used the fence stamp both of these are available at the Crafty Sentiments Store.  The papers are DCWV Glitter Stack, some organza ribbon and a selection of flowers that I put together with an oversized brad.  I have also added a sentiment which is done with a Papermania embossing folder (only got them a few days ago!)  Well when I first saw this challenge I really wasnt sure as the colours are ones I normally use a lot of but I am pleased with how this turned out.  Remember to pop over to the Crafty Sentiments blog and you will see all the other wonderful work by the rest of the DT and hopefully that will inspire you to join us this week.  'Go on You know You want to!'

Creative Card Crew ~ Friendship with Phindy's

A great theme for the challenge this week at Creative Card Crew ~ Friendship.  Now I have ad s set of sentiments I won over at Sentimental Sundays but not actually got round to using yet but this sentiment I love!  I have used the sentiment as the main focus of my card, the papers I have used are from a digi kit by Raspberry Road Designs called 'Fitting Room' and I tried to go for a bit of a vintage feel to it with a modern twist being the sentiment.  The flower is made with the same paper as I used for the background and they are cut using a set of 3 dies that my friend Heather sent me for my birthday (Thanks Heather I love 'em) I scrunched the individual flowers up after cutting them out and then dabbed the ink pad over them added a little button tied with string and then decided to add a little bit of sparkle with some glitter.  The layout is inspired from one I saw in an old copy of Creativity magazine.  Hope you like it

Anyone For Anya ~ Colour challenge with a valentine theme

This week over at Anyone for Anya they have a lovely photo as inspiration and my project is based around the colours and  the theme (valentine/love)  I have used paper from a digi kit called 'Fun Lovin' from Raspberry Road Designs which I cut out using a nestie, I have used Summer (wild sprout) from the Roll Call 1 collection and coloured her with copics and a little sakura stardust I then added a little kraft paper tag which I inked the edges of and added a handwritten sentiment.  I finished off with a little heart gem and then used it all at the top of a cello bag with some sweets in.

Paper Sundaes ~ Pick your topping

The challenge this week over at Paper Sundaes is to use your choice of the toppings provided, you have to use at least 2 but can use all 4 if you want ~ well I managed 3 was going for the 4th but the pink didnt quite work so I had to settle for flowers, lace and distressing.  My paper is from Raspberry Road Designs (I think) it was in my scraps drawer and has been for some time!  The image is a stamp which was part of a win I had recently, the stamp is by Peachy Keen Stamps, I have used the feathering technique for colouring the main parts of the petals and face, the the darker rim of the petals I then softened by using the copic blender pen to lift some the colour.  The sentiment is a stamp from Papermania (see mum they will definately come in handy! lol) the lace has been in my stash for ages.  I raised the flower using foam pads and the cs was sanded and scraped and then the main card was inked around the edges.

Totally Paper Crafts ~ Clean & Simple

Well I thought I would have a go at the Clean & Simple challenge this week over at Totally Paper Crafts and could visualise my card in my minds eye but it doesnt quite seem right now its completed.  I have used a stamp and sentiment from a Papertrey Ink stamp set that a very good friend gave me for my birthday recently and I love the stamps they are gorgeous and this is supposed to be her thank you card but not sure if I will send it yet!  Her cards are divine! lol  Anyway I stamped the image (its actuually two stamps the flourished circle and then the butterfly circle within it) with versamark ink and then used Ranger Perfect Pearls blue patina so colour the images and give them a real shine (this doesnt show in the pic but if I took the pic with flash there was to much glare! lol) and I did the same with the sentiment.  I then punched along the bottom of the card and threaded ribbon through and finished it off with a (bunny ears) bow (the above said friend showed me how to do those too!)

When I came across the challenge this week at Our Creative Corner which was to use a tree on your card and keep it Clean & Simple.  I knew immediately what image I wanted to use.  The tree is an embossing folder by Bringin Crafts-Too You and I used some DCWA cs then sanded it.  My Sentiment is a freebie from Sentimental Sundays from a while back which I matted on some forgotten metallic paper (lol) then I added some little pearls and the background paper is from a freebie kit from Raspberry Road Designs.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge ~ A Bear on a Card

Thursday is here again and that means challenge time at Crafty Sentiments and this week I'm sure you're gonna love playin' along we want to see a BEAR on your projects and dont forget there are loads of wonderful bears available at the Crafty Sentiments Store

Well I used the adorable Patches from the recently released A5 stamp set and for this card I really wanted to try something I had seen somewhere while I was blog hopping but unfortunately I cant remember where I saw it but someone was saying how they liked stamping  white on Kraft.  Now my white ink has just about dried out so I had to improvise! lol  I found some Kraft couloured ridged card that I bought a very long time ago so that was my starting point and after failing to be able to stamp on it I opted to stamp in brown on white but keep Patches fairly white and use the Kraftas emphasis on the card, I also embossed the white card, added some white brads and the sentiment is part of the Digi Valentine Sentiments available at the Crafty Sentiments Store which I recoloured to Kraft colour and then added a little button.  Well thats my card, I hope you like it but please pop over to the challenge blog and check out the rest of the amazing DTs work, it is awesome.

OSAAT ~ As You Like It ~ Start of the Christmas Club

Anyway on to my card, it is only a simple and quick one but now I've done it I rather like it!  I have used a piece of paper from a very old paper pack which I think is K & Co and I only have some oddments of it left, well I mounted it onto a gold card (had forever too! lol) and then I added a stamped sentiment in gold ink which is from the Daisy & Dandelion kit from 2 christmases ago so I have really made use of my old stash tonight for this one!

Thanks for stopping by my internet seems to be staying with me (for the time being anyway!lol)

Patches & Stitch

I have made a card using another of the fabulous new stamps which are available from the Crafty Sentiments Store.  This one is of Patches & Stitch and it looks like they are on their way to a birthday bash.  They are part of an A5 set of stamps and they stamp and colour up really well.  I have used my copics and added just a touch of sakura stardust.  I have used my pink copic (RV06) to edge the card too and colour the little flower which is a new stamp from the cupcake freebie set on the docrafts Creativity magazine, I have then mounted it on a little black circle and finished it off with a clear dome sticker.  The paper and S/A ribbon are Dovecraft - hint of pink set and the little silver sentiment topper I got from The Works.

Anyone For Anya ~ Pretty Bows

This weeks challenge over at Anyone For Anya is Pretty Bows, now my bows dont always come out looking too pretty so I started off feeling a bit stumped til I remembered a little Cafe Creme cigar tin which I had decorated and used to put in ready made bows that I had bought or retrieved from other things! and there in the tin was the little bow I have used which has the little pearls on it so I knew I just had to use it, and now I have some other bows for other projects too!  I have used Fleur Anya which is a stamp I won recently and this is the first time I have used it.  I coloured her with  copics  and used the feathering technique for her dress (unfortunately I havent done it very well! lol) The paper is from the K Ology Addison paper pad and the cs is coredinations and the little flowers are Tiny Tots from Prima

Crafty Sentiments Challenge ~ Vintage

Here we are its Thursday so that means challenge time over at Crafty Sentiments and this is one that I found a little more difficult, but I know loads of you out there will love this, the theme this week is 'VINTAGE' I have used another wonderful new image and this is Mushroom Bear, isn't he just so adorable? and available at Crafty Sentiments store,  I coloured him with my copics and then gently inked the card so it isnt so bright white, all the edges of my card have been distressed with a craft knife and inked.  The papers are new, I won them in the last Dotties World challenge and they are Bo Bunny Noel Collection Pack and I love the fact that although they are Christmas papers they can be used for other occasions too and they are vintage and distressed so definately fitted in with this challenge!  The ribbon, large flower (behind the image) peeloffs and the pearls are all from my stash.  So even though I dont really do vintage I am pleased with the way this turned out.

For some major inspiration and beautiful creations stop by the rest of the DT and then show us your vintage cards by joining in our challenge this week.  Go on You know You want to.  And we have another fabulous sponser again this week which is Digis With Attitude so check out the Crafty Sentiments Blog for all the details.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge ~ Thank You

Whoo hoo! did you have fun on the hop, we certainly did and what fab challenge entries this week we had too, it was great hopping round and visiting.  Anyway its Thursday so that means its time for a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week its Thank You, nice and easy for you huh?

I have used the new stamp Patches with Balloons, which is available at the Crafty Sentiments Store, coloured with copics and mounted on some blue cs which is then mounted onto some M&MBI paper stitched to some brown cs.  (now I had originally used my old sewing machine to sew this - old being the operative word and guess what its not working prperly so I ended up having to carefully unpick the random stitches! so rather than just leave it or throw it out I got some glittery thread and hand stitched it using the holes, labour of love! lol) The main backing paper is also M&MBI, the flowers, tag, gems and peeloff are all from my stash.

Well the rest of the DT have been busy creating some wonderful creations for you to look at and be inspired by, so dont forget to check them out and leave some love on the way.  Then check out the challenge and join us this week 'Go on You know You want to!'

Wow I have just completed a digi lo for the Scrap that Idea forum and the challenge was a recipe but boy were there lots of ingredients and I have to say I did struggle to put this one together but hey thats the whole point of challenges isnt it!  Anyway I think I inlcluded everything I needed to.  The main kit I used is by A Work In Progress (aka Vicki) and is her kit Citrus Brights and then I added elements from some of Vickis other kits and also some elements from kits by Staceys Scraps both of these uber talented ladies are part of the awesome group of designers that make up Scrap That Idea.  Ria isnt impressed with it but then she wishes I wouldnt keep scrapping pics of her!  But hey scrapping our memories is the whole point!  lol (she doesnt mind really just being a teenager!lol)

I had fun with this one as I was using my new Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet so it probably took me longer than usual the pen is really sensitive and its taking a bit of getting used to but I really like it.
