Swirls & Pearls at Crafty Catz

Ooops I'm running late I was sure I had sheduled this post but alas I hadn't!  Too much going on in my  head at the moment! lol  Anyway this week over at Crafty Catz it's Dianne's turn to set the challenge theme and she has chosen 'Swirls & Pearls' and for this great challenge we have a super sponsor to go with it.

Fabulous right and the DT were very fortunate to get some wonderful images to play with.  I just had to use this wonderful image 'Shoe Fetish' which I coloured with copics then added copious amounts of glitter and glaze to the shoe.  The black cs has been embossed with a paisly swirl pattern and I matted the image and sentiment onto red holographic mirricard added some red pearls and corner swirls cut from the red card.  This card really does sparkle in the right light.  Don't forget to check out what the rest of the fabulous DT have been up to you won't be disappointed.

Use some metal with Divas By Design

Good morning, over at Divas By Design this week we would love to see you using some metal on your creations.  We have a fantastic sponsor this week:

For my card I used a Gloria, Modern Geisha by our sponsor, coloured with copics, cut and matted with Sizzix ticket dies, rolled roses cut on Cricut and little butterfly charm added.  Papers are some very old PM ones and black cs and I added a little scrap of lace I found in my ribbon drawers.

Easter at Crafty Sentiments

Over at Crafty Sentiments this week the challenge is 'Easter' so nice and easy.  This weeks prize is:
Get ready for a picture heavy post, for my project I decided to make some Easter bunting which I will take into work and hang on the notice board along side pictures that the 'guys' have made recently.  I cut the bunting using the Cricut then I sponged orange ink around all the edges.  All the lettering, flowers, eggs, baskets and sign were all cut on the Cricut using First Editon Hideaway papers and patterned Kraft cs.  I used Bunny Harvest and Chicken Run both stamps from the recent Easter release which can be found at Crafty Sentiments Designs Store.  I coloured using copics.

Thanks a Latte

I picked up this wonderful freebie from Saturated Canary a while ago but hadn't had the opportunity to put it to use until today, as with all of Krista's amazing images she is a dream to colour and I had fun making this. She is coloured with copics and the papers are all from PM Happy Days pad (actually used 4 different patterns! I usually struggle over 2! lol) the threads are also PM Portobello Road range I think.  Rolled roses cut on the Cricut and the bow tied on the bowmaker.

Sparkle and a Bow

This week over at Crafty Catz, Sassy has chosen the wonderful theme of 'Sparkle and a Bow' and we know you are going to have as much fun with this as the DT girls did.  This week we have 2 fabulous sponsors who are:

How lucky, wish I could enter!
Onto my card for this week then,  I have used this cute fairy digi image from LOTV and coloured her with my copics but I went for really soft pastel shades as the rest of my card is White On White.  I embossed the base added some organza ribbon and a bow (still trying to get the hang of the bowmaker pegs on my CC Ultimate Pro! the fairy image is edged with glamour dust and I have used stardust pens on parts of the image for extra sparkle, this has then been matted on to a Crafty Cutters Doily, then I added some olive branch leaves and rolled roses which have been dusted with glamour dust and I finished off with a little silver 60 again edged in glamour dust.  This card is for my aunt who turns 60 in a couple of weeks and who likes fairies so hopefully I have hit the mark with this one, I am pleased with how it turned out.  So now you know what fun the DT had with this challenge its over to you to show us your sparkles and bows, have fun!

And a close up to give you a better idea of the sparkle.

Fallen

I recently won some images from Delicious Doodles and I made a card tonight with one of my favourites 'Fallen'  As I'm still without my glasses I decided the best way to do this gorgeous image justice was to print it off and continue with the monochromatic theme.  I embossed the black base layer with a feathers plate and the sentiment is from 'SteamPunk Dreams' by Sam Poole, I finished off with some small black gems.

circular easel card

I made this for my sister for her birthday and thought it would be a fun image as she volunteers at a rescue centre and walks the dogs.  I used an old cd as the base of my card and covered it in blue mirriboard then added a PM doily in Kraft,  The adorable image and sentiment are from Charmed Cards & Crafts and I have coloured with copics then added glitter and glossy accents

And here is a closer look at the image with its sparkle & shine

Chicken Run

Oh this is just such an adorable stamp.  Its called 'Chicken Run' and its one of the new Easter stamp releases from Crafty Sentiments Designs.  I have used my copics to colour.  Matting layers and borders are cut from cs scraps and the fun paper is from Kraftyhands and came on a free disc with a magazine recently (more about that later!)  The ribbon is all from my stash as is the little daisy button and I finished off with a little peeloff sentiment. This card took me longer to colour than normal as my glasses have been sent off to be mended and my spares broke too but they are non repairable so have to be extra careful colouring! Hopefully they will be sorted VERY soon!

Make Us Laugh!

Its Friday and for most of us its the start of the weekend, time to relax and put our feet, but not unfortunately for me!  This weekend is my weekend to work (again!)  I seem to get 1 in 3 off at the moment.  Anyway I hope most of you are looking forward to a weekend of relaxing and hopefully crafting.  The challenge this week over at Crafty Catz is chosen by Carol and its 'Make Us Laugh' and our fabulous sponsor for this week is:

For my card I have used the wonderful Tequila and matching sentiment.  I paper pieced her dress using the same digital paper which is in the background but minimised it.  Paper is from Crafty Sentiments.  The rest of Tequila is coloured with copics and I added 3d glaze to her glasses, the glass and her boots for the added shine.  Finished off with some bakers twine, eyelets and card candi.  The card is for a very good friend who I know will find this as amusing as I do!

Put on some PINK with the Divas

Oh My!  I am so sorry, I thought I'd sheduled this post but apparently not and as a result I am somewhat late sharing my inspiration for our challenge this week over at Divas By Design which is 'Put on some PINK' and our fabulous sponsor this week is

And we got to play with some awesome images!  I chose the fabulous Breast Cancer Fighter and I wanted to mix the tough and the soft together with my project.  I made a picture in a clip frame which is now sat happily in Ria's room.  Background paper is First Edition Dreamcatcher and it has pink feathers all over (the soft) then I used pink and soft brown cs for the various cogs (tough) and embossed the pink panel with a cogs embossing folder.  Ripped round the edges of the image and then added some inking, finally finished off with a pc generated sentiment.  Really pleased with how it turned out and so is Ria.

Hello Spring

Here we are with another fantastic challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and the theme for this week is 'Hello Spring'.  For my card I decided to use the stamp 'Hedgehog Hello' which is available over at Crafty Sentiments Designs as is the wonderful heart border die.  I have coloured with my copics and added a little sky background by inking, used gold peeloff lettering.  Flowers are dies which were given to me so don't know whose make and finished off the flower with a build your own brad (keep forgetting I have these! lol) Also added a couple of corner die cuts and the papers are MME Wild Asparagus.  Not sure what the style of card is called I guess its a kind of pop up, had to adapt it from the original plan but am pleased with how it came out.

Easter Stamp Release at Crafty Sentiments

Wow did you see all the fantastic Easter cards previewed yesterday over at Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog, they were just all so gorgeous!  I was so sad that I didn't get the chance to play yesterday but had a hectic few days work wise BUT I did get to play along with todays previews which are 'Chicken Run' and 'Delightful Flowers'  My card uses 'Delightful Flowers' and I made as a Mother's Day card just to show how versatile these stamps are.  I used copics and my papers are First Edition Family Ties, the plain pink piece I embossed then added some pretty floral ribbon which I have had for a while just never quite found the right project for it until today!  The sentiment is also from Crafty Sentiments Designs and I finished off with a diecut corner and some tiny heart shaped gems.  These gorgeous new stamps along with another 2 that will shown tomorrow will be available to buy tomorrow over at Crafty Sentiments Designs.

Flowers

I made this card for my mum for Mother's Day and she had it a couple of days early as she went away to Maderia on holiday on Saturday so this way her flowers wont have wilted by the time she gets back!  She was very pleased with them and I really enjoyed making this one.  Sorry it is a bit picture heavy.  I have used Coredinations cs in pink and green and the paper is from First Edition. I found the instruction in a copy of  Creativity Magazine and they were really easy to follow.  I used narrow coloured lolly sticks (found 'em in the back of a crafting cupboard!) and the flowers have all been cut on the Cricut using the Bloom cartridge.  Added in some feather and gem stem and a pearl stem for some added texture.

The next 2 pictures show a close up of the flowers and how it looks closed and ready to post.
