At Your Age!

Just thought I'd pop on to share the card I made for BILs partner who turns 50 tomorrow.  I have used the fabulous Stella from Bugaboo and I tweaked the sentiment slightly.  Stella is coloured with copics and Spectrums and I added glossy accents here and  there!  Used the new Cricut cartridge to cut out the sentiment, now its time to go play some more!

Crafty Catz Challenge #309 ~ Kids

Sorry I'm late posting today but the internet crashed out last night while I was trying to do my post then the laptop was spending forever installing updates, I gave up and went to bed! So here I am now, just got back from having a cortisone injection in my thumb and an xray. Last injection looks like another op is on the cards! So for my card I have used this cute image from Crafty Sentiments called 'Why Not' and coloured him up with Copics and Spectrum Noirs, the patterned paper is from First Editions Neroli pad, used some cs from stash which I embossed then cut the stars using a new star die set. The sentiment is one I downloaded free a long time ago from Sentimental Sundays. When I was putting the card together it just looked to clean and smart so I attacked it a postal franking stamp and then grunged it up with some black ink, it looks so much better now that its not pristine, well it is for a boy! lol. Hope you can come along and play with us this week.

A little monochrome fun

Here's a little card that took a long time to come together, despite using a sketch!  I think it was more about the colouring and I couldn't decide if keeping the image monochrome too was the way to go!  I finally decided it was and here is my end result.  Used the awesome Kenny K image, background glittery paper is Santoro of London and the flowers are cut on the cricut from a scrap of grey checked paper, added the film strip die cut and coloured the image with Spectrums.

Crafty Catz Challenge #308 ~ Girls Just Wanna ave Fun

Hello, yes I'm running a wee bit late and no excuses!  So let's get right down to business, it's Friday so time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week the theme has been chosen by our wonderful Nina and she has chosen Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, fabulous choice and we are sponsored by

And the DT were given some fabulous images to play along with.  I chose Ginah and coloured here with copics, spectrum pens and pencils and first edition markers, I then used the pens to make the spotty background which I have seen others do but never had a go myself, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!  papers are First Edition Blank Canvas, embossed the circular panel and then added die cut pennant and die cut rolled flowers.  Hope you like it and get a chance to come on over and play along with the Crafty Catz this week.

Do you believe ...

... in Love at first sight?  Got this great sassy image from TEW and thought the sentiment would be perfect!  They are also have a challenge over on their blog which is black and white with  1 other colour and I went for a bright splash of yellow :-)  The image is coloured with a mix of Copics, Spectrums and First Editions.  I have embossed the black cs with a diamond embossing folder, the stars are die cut and are part of a new die set and finished off with some little black gems.

White Christmas

Hi, don't panic I'm not starting early on my cards for Christmas, this is actually one from last year that I didn't get round to posting on here and while I was looking at a few challenges I realised that this card would fit a couple of them so here it is ...!

I used a Crafters Companion Accordian Die and then I cut some double sided self adhesive sheet (using for the first time) with an overlay ivy leaf die which I then glittered with glamour dust.  Then I embossed the inner panels and added some cuts using the Cricut.  Its a shame the glamour dust don't show up too well in the photo it was very sparkly in real life.

Polar Bear Dancing

I seem to be very slowly getting back into crafting after the Christmas break, hopefully I'll soon speed up again but for now here is a card I made with the freebie image from The East Wind this month, unfortunately I was too slow for their first challenge of the year but I went ahead with my card anyway.  I have used paper from First Edition New Bloom and Dreamcatcher flowers and leaves are from my stash. I have done some dry embossing and die cut some banners.  The cute image is coloured with copics and spectrums.

Crafty Catz Challenge #306 ~ Flowers stamped or digi

Good morning and Happy New Year to you all!  Wow it's been so long since I blogged and I had the good intentions of blogging and crafting throughout the holiday period and it just didn't work out that way!  So here I am back with the first challenge of the new year from Crafty Catz and this week it's the turn of our fabulous boss lady Carol to choose the theme and she would like to see 'FLOWERS' but this isn't about adding all those gorgeous flowers we all have though you can add those too but it's about stamping flowers (rubber or digi).  Our wonderful sponsors this week are

A Day For Daisies were also kind enough to give the DT some fabulous images to play along with.  I chose Mr Rooster who I coloured using copics.  The papers are First Editon Blank Canvas and the smaller piece I have used an old background stamp (hardly every used!) stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with some very old holographic embossing powder which when it picks up the light does look very pretty. The small flowers are a die cut and the bigger flower is cut on the Cricut and has a brad in the centre which is attached to a simple little tag with a simple stamped sentiment.  I wanted to keep the background and embellishments fairly muted so the colours on the Rooster stood out more.
