Crafty Catz Challenge #299 ~ Tag it

Good morning, well here we are it's Friday, boy does it seem to come round quick at the moment, I seem to be ever playing catch up, mind you I have been working extra hours at work so that kinda reduces my 'me time' somewhat, still never mind.  Right as it's Friday that means new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week it is the turn of our wonderful Janette to host and she has chosen the theme 'Tag It' so we need to see a tag somewhere on your creation or you could make a tag.  We have a fabulous sponsor this week too ...

 $10 Gift Certificate

So I decided to make a tag and I also included a tag on my tag! lol I have used the fabulous image Pizza Chef from our very generous sponsor.  He is coloured using copics, spectrums and first edition markers.  The base tag is quite big 8.5 x 4.5 and I covered it in some gingham paper as it reminded me of a table cloth! The flowers and pocket and smaller tag are some red paper that I got in a bundle, the flowers are Die'sire dies and the white branches are a die cut too.  The smaller tag is a sizzix die cut and is the bigger of a set of 3 then onto that I have matted a recipe for friendship that I found on the internet, there are loads of them! Finished off with some eyelets, a hello friend cuttlebug die cut and some pearls.  I have given this to a friend at work who needed a little cheering up and I'm happy to say it was gratefully received.
I would like to enter this tag into the following challenges:

Good evening all, well I just thought I'd pop on and share a Halloween card that I've made to play along with at The East Wind this week (actually challenge finishes tonight so I've cut it fine!) Anyway I have used the beautiful image Aurora Mushroom and I have given her a Halloween makeover using copics and spectrum pens and pencils, the background paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and then I have added die cut bats and various other cuts using the Cricut and the October 31st cartridge.  I hope you like her x

Crafty Catz Challenge #298 ~ Monsters ~ Spooky or Cute

Good evening, yes I know I'm late today, don't ask! but I'm here now and it's time to tell you about the new challenge over at Crafty Catz, this week our fabulous Nick has chosen the theme and being this close to Halloween it's very relevant, Nick would love to see your MONSTERS ~ SPOOKY OR CUTE and we are sponsored this week by

PRIZE......3 IMAGES OF WINNERS CHOICE

The DT were very kindly given some images to play along with, you really should check out all the fbulous work the girls have done, you won't be disappointed!  For my project which is a wall hanging for Ria for her room at uni I have used the awesome Clockwork Dragon.  Loved the image as soon as I saw it, has such fabulous detailing.  So for this I printed the image onto purple cs and matted it onto silver mirriboard, this was then mounted onto black cs edged using the TH Steampunk die.  This was then added to the purple cs background and embellished with black pearls, stamped sentiment and flowers cut using Die'sire dies out of black paper and a page from an old book which had first been inked with purple and then edged with black ink, and some JS ivy corner die cuts. I hope she likes it, her boyfriend is on his way up to London with it as I type!

Crafty Catz Challenge #296 ~ Embossing

Good morning, it's Friday so that means time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this week the wonderful Cindy has chosen the theme of  'EMBOSSING ~ heat or dry', I do love a bit of embossing!  Our fabulous sponsor this week is

For the embossing on my card I have used Embossalicious Banner folder, (love that now I have my cut 'n' boss I can emboss larger pieces! lol) and embossed the dp which is Papermania Happy Days, I used several KennyK images and cropped them to fit in my sizzix film strip die cut they are coloured up using a mix of Copics, Spectrums and First Edition markers.  The sentiment stamps are Crafty Impressions and cut out with a ticket die.  The card was finished off with some black pearls.  I didn't get chance to take a pic of the inside but it say 'It will make people wander what you've been up to on your birthday!  I made this card for Ria who celebrated her birthday last week up at uni in Camden I am pleased to say she was thrilled with the card.

A Little Autumnal

As I drive to fro to work I've started to see the changes in the colours of the leaves on the trees, it's really beautiful and the quote I have used for my card does sum it up beautifully too, so here is my autumnal inspired card.

I have used DP from The Paper Shelter, added some leaf embossed orange vellum (had the vellum for absolutely ages) and topped that with this gorgeous image from TEW 'Aurora Maple'.  The sentiment actually came from Sentimental Sundays probably a couple of years ago now.  Aurora is coloured with copics, spectrums and First Edition markers with a tiny bit of white gel pen for highlights, card is finished off with some orange card candi

When the going gets tough ...

... the tough get vodka! at least they do today!  And no not me! lol  A friend finished working at the unit I work at yesterday and we had a collection for her and I made the card.  She is famed for her love of vodka so the card and bottle of Polish Bison Grass vodka were very fitting and I'm pleased to say she was very pleased!

For my card (sorry not a great picture due to the gold mirricard) I used a fabulous image from Bugaboo called Tequila, it comes with a fab sentiment too but for this card I generated my own.  She is coloured with Spectrums and First Edition markers, I added glossy accents to her boots, glasses and glass and used glitter pens for her glasses frames and jewellery.  I embossed the gold mirricard with Embossilicious Banners folder and the black cs was die cut with part of a London silhouette die by x-cut but unfortunately it doesn't really show up very well.  Finished off with some liquid pearls.

Crafty Catz Challenge #295 ~ Fantasy/Fairy Theme

Ooops, I'm running a little late, seems to be the story of my life at the mo but I'm sure normal service will resume soon (I hope). This Sunday it's Ria's birthday and it's hard not being able to share it in person with her now she is at Uni but her boyfriend is with her this weekend and my Mum & Dad are visiting today so at least she isn't on her own.

Anyway enough of my mauddling! You're probably here to check out the new challenge over at Crafty Cats and this week the wonderful Naomi has chosen the theme of Fantsy/Fairy. We have a fabulous sponsor

And they are giving our lucky winner a 3 images of their choice

The DT were very kindly given some gorgeous images to play along with and I have used 'Gerient & Enid' which you can find here  This image really made me think of old books so I wanted to try and incorporate that into my card.  I stated by embossing a piece of Kraft and then using versamark ink and perfect pearls powders I set to trying to make the craft look like old leather then I added the brads to give the impression of it being old padded embossed leather (not sure I got totally right but was pleased with this as my first attempt).  Then I cut some corners from Kraft and heat embossed them with antique gold powder.  I printed the image 2x onto kraft and and cut out them mian image from 1 leaving just the border which I added to the other image using foam pads for some added depth.  I heat embossed with the gold powder round the edges of the frame and added the sentiment banner. The 'book' is then held shut with some string.  Overall I am really pleased with how this turned out, it matched the vision I had in my mind! lol  I hope you like it too, don't forget to check out the rest of the amazing cards that those Crafty Catz have been busy making for your inspiration.

I have included this view taken with the flash to try and show the effect of the powders on the Kraft and the gold embossing
