Childs Play

I love this stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs, always makes me smiles, its called 'Sailing Boat' and is available in store.  I have coloured with copics and used stardust on the ripples of the puddle.  Another attempt at blond hair, not so yellow this time but still a bit of practice needed!  Blue paper is PM Portobello Road as is the sentiment stamp and the red spotty paper is First Edition Family Ties, the ribbon and button are from my stash, spellbinders dies for the circles and scalloped circles.

Some Butterflies

I won this wonderful image from Delicious Doodles a few weeks ago and at the time didn't realise they had a challenge blog of their own too, but I found it on my travels so knew I just had to join in.  The image is 'Daisies and Butterflies', coloured with copics, the edges have been distressed with craft knife and inked with copics.  Papers are digital and are from the Jewel Collection which I purchased from C&C some time ago but keep forgetting I have them! lol  The 3 little butterflies down the side are cut on the Cricut and I finished off with some irridescent gems and a little stamped sentiment.

lets get cooking ...

over at Crafty Sentiments this week we have a recipe for you which Anne has cooked up for you.  So here it is ~ 1 image, 2 Papers, 3 embellishments, nice and easy.  For my card I used the digi stamp 'Flower Pot' coloured with copics except the petals which I paper pieced (digitally) using the same dotty paper that I stamped the sentiment on. Both papers are from Bearly Mine Designs.  I inked round the edge of the image for definition then I added some little buttons and a leaf and flower charms with some green bakers twine.  Hope you'll find time to come cookin' with us.

Mini Release - Wedding themed

Wow you guys are lucky, Crafty Sentiments Designs is having a Mini Release TODAY and the stamps are Wedding themed and they are all stunners. Pop over to the Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog and check out what my talented teamies have been busy creating for you.  For my piece I have made a gift box (using my Crafters Companion) I went with the idea of something old, something new so used hints of blue and thought this would be a nice box to give the bride a little gift to fit in with the saying.  I embossed a white panel for the top of the box and then added a heart doily die cut onto which I placed the beautiful 'Annabel ~ Elegance' coloured with copics.  The sentiment is stamped onto a Crafty Cutters Vintage Label also available from Crafty Sentiments Designs and finished off with some little blue heart gems

I also embossed the sides of the box.

So isn't she gorgeous?  I think she'd be great for prom cards too!

Faerie Fae

I was lucky enough to win some Delicious Doodles images a couple of weeks ago and just knew I had to have this one.  Seen other people using it and have loved it but was really worried I couldn't do her justice!  I must admit I did take a while colouring her in! lol not that I'm a quick colourer anyway.lol  I decided on the colours when I thought about using the butterfly ribbon which I thought was a perfect accompaniment  and while looking for that found the green leaf ribbon too.  The paper is a piece of textured holographic paper and again the colours were just right.  I kept this very simple because the image is stunning and the sparkly paper I felt was enough.

And the DT got to use a fab digi stamp and sentiment stamp from Digistamps4Joy so here is my card.  I decided to make a pocket card for a change.  My papers are JLJ Designs and I have punched the edges of the diagonally cut pieces (not that it shows up too well here!) The image is coloured with copics and cut out and matted using spellbinders dies, the leaves are a punch, flower, bow, gems and charm from my stash and the tag is a sizzix die with the border punch used along the bottom and finished off with the sentiment and some ribbon.  Once again thanks to Crafty Catz for having me.

Fancy Folds with Divas By Design

Yay my first official post as part of the Divas By Design DT!  I am so proud to be part of such a wonderful, warm and talented team. :-)  This week the challenge is Fancy Folds and we are sponsored by the wonderful

and we got to play with some of their gorgeous images.  I chose the cute 'Sunflower Bear' and I decided to make a centre stepper card.  I printed a bright and funky sunny digi paper onto my card before cutting and folding, Sunflower Bear is coloured with copics and I added some glitter to the centre of the sunflower.  Matted onto green mirricard which I also used for the sentiment mat and border.  Sentiment is a stamp and I finsihed off with a little bumble bee button and some green square gems.

Something a little different for me

I bought some new dies at the beginning of the month and haven't really played with them very much

so after spending today finding my craft desk I thought I'd have a play! (need to find my desk again now!lol)  The card is pretty self explanatory really and is a smaller version of something else I have planned and is based on the sketch at 4 Crafty Chicks.  I think I like how it turned out!  It was very hard to get a decent photo of too.

A project from Ria

Ria joined me in the craft room today for a short time while she was out of bed as she hasn't been feeling very well.  She has been very headachy and now the cold is coming out, just as well she is now on half term!  Anyway back to her project ... Ria has chosen 'Lets Play Music' from Crafty Sentiments Designs, coloured with copics, the paper is Raspberry Road Designs, then she found some ribbon to match the paper and cut some brown cs to make the rikrak and finished off with a stamped sentiment. I love how this turned out.

For my card I actually managed to use 2 lines: Flowers/ribbon/Kraft and Pearls/dies or punches/ribbon and we got the chance to play with fabulous images from Stamp Fairy.  I used the adorable Lenny Cupcakes 2, coloured with my copics and I added some glaze to the balloon, the cherry and their noses and a little dark brown glitter to the cupcake.  I used a new xcut border punch along one side of the card, Kraft card and dp from PM Happy Days, sentiment is a stamp and finished off with some pearls, ribbon and a flower brad.  Don't forget to check out the work by the super talented DT ladies.

Benson Bear Day

Today over at the Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog the DT have been having fun playing with Benson Bear, here's a little more about the adorable little guy ...

Benson Bear was born early 2013, he started out life as just two digital images but has already grown to 5 - such a cutie we all love colouring him up so much

Right here goes, this time I decided to be a bit different for me and I made a tag, the balloon tag and its shadow were cut using the Cricut and MME papers then I thought I'd try printing Benson on to Kraft cs and I like the way he turned out.  The 4 & U were cut using the Cricut from Kraft and coloured with copics to match the colours used to colour Benson and his gift. I added Bakers Twine to the bottom of the balloon and a big organza brown bow (not overly happy with the bow but I do seem to struggle to tie these bows as neat as a lot of people out there in Blogland) finished the image off with some white gel pen and a tiny red gem.  I hope you like all the DTs Benson creations, we certainly love him!

Valentine time at Crafty Sentiments

With Valentines Day just around the corner the Crafty Sentiments DT have been busy making love/valentine themed cards to inspire you. So come on lets see your 'Valentine' cards this week.

I have used 'Breezy' from this months new release stamps at Crafty Sentiments Designs, I thought she was perfect for a valentine card and I remembered this sentiment that was a freebie a long time ago from Sentimental Sundays and thought it was just right for Breezy.  I coloured her with my copics, papers are PM Happy Days and I added some little red mirricard hearts (cut outs from the heart doily die!) also added one to her earring and a little circle to her necklace.  I tried my first centre stepper card too, like it and will definitely do more of them. I have coloured her with copics and decided to make a wall hanging instead of a card.  My base is mountboard which I covered in digi printed paper by Raspberry Road Designs.  I ink dusted a tree using the left over cs from a tree I recently cut out using the Cricut, the trellis with flowers is a Cricut cut too and I raised the left hand side of it with foam squares for a bit more depth, the Summer corner is also cut with the Cricut then I finished off with a die cut of the bird and branch.  Think I may end up making a seasonal set of pics!  Hope you like it.
