Another post from me but this time on behalf of Ria.  She has completed a new project, actually she made it in a morning the other day but we only got to town today to pick a cushion for it! lol  The pattern came from a Cath Kidston booklet which was free in a newspaper a while back and Ria had already bought the material but was nervous about getting going but after spending a week sewing at school she has gained so much confidence and is eagerly trying out new things to make.  So here is her cushion cover both front and back views and I must say it has turned out beautifully.  I love her choice in fabric.

Crafty Sentiments ~ Numbers

Ooops! I am very late with my DT card for this weeks fabulous NUMBERS challenge over at Crafty Sentiments so without further ado here is my card.  I have used 'Lucy Rattles' which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs, along with the Crafty Cutters Summer Doily.  Lucy is coloured with copics and I have used papers from First Editions 'Dreamcatcher' pad and added some silver holographic cs.  I have kept it very simple as the silver cs and silver foiling on the dp seemed to be enough.  For the sentiment I adapted a digi sentiment from the Baby Sentiment circles collection from Crafty Sentiments Designs.  I also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder, Tonic Studio punches and nesties.  I hope you will stop by the challenge blog and check out what my amazing teamies have been up to (on time too! lol) and then join in our challenge, we look forward to seeing your fabulous entries.

A little wedding set

I'm back again today!  This time with a little wedding set that came about as a request from my mum as she is attending her friends wedding in August and she wanted one of my cards (thanks for the compliment mum x)  For the card I have used used the cute Bride and Groom stamps from Crafty Sentiments Designs coloured with copics (purples/heathers are colours for the wedding) added them to a castle background from the Once Upon A Time collection from Charmed Crafts & Cards then I cut the front of my card to follow the shape of the castle background (the wedding is taking place in a castle in Scotland)  I then added a gorgeous floral paper from Bearly Mine Designs Floral Breeze collection that again fitted the colour scheme.  Mum also asked if I could make a gift card as well so I decided to use the same beautiful floral papers and in PSE5 added the wording then mounted it on to a long slim card and made a pocket to match inside the card which has a blank space for adding a personal message.  And there you have it a little wedding set.  Hope you like it.

Little Gothic Modern Miss

I hope you are all enjoying some warm weather at the moment, we seem to be having sunshine and showers but I'm not complaining I'm off work till Wednesday so I'm just going to enjoy the time!  I have used the time so far to make a card using another fab image that I won from The Paper Shelter, this time it is the turn of Gothic & Modern and I just love her.  I have coloured her using copics and have tried to practice my folds colouring with her skirt but it still needs plenty of practice! and then mounted her onto an embossed panel of white cs. The papers and lace are Raspberry Road Designs, flower, card candi and pearls are from my stash, the little metal & net butterfly I have had for several years and forgot all about them till I came across them looking for something else! and the pearl leaves were some that I bought at Easter when I was visiting my Mum & Dad but this is the first time I have used them.  Finished off with a little sentiment stamp from PTI

Rockin' Robins

Another Christmas card done!  This card uses a cute digi image that I won recently from over at Pink Gem Designs, I think these 3 look like they are having a great time partying!  I coloured with copics and added plenty of glamour dust for that added sparkle that Christmas cards call out for!  Mounted on to Kraft card, dp is from the Christmas Dreams collection by Bearly Mine Designs then I added sparkly green ribbon and shiny red snowflake sequins.

A quick monochromatic card

Had great fun making this card as it is all digital except for the colouring of the actual image.  The image is Mikey from Charmed Cards and Crafts and the papers and elements are from digi kit by Sweet Blossom Designs called 'Numb3rs'  Mikey is coloured with copics.

Lets Go Fly A Kite

Hee hee are you all singing along now!  Well I was at work on Monday and someone wanted to watch Mary Poppins and then I got this fab new digi image from Crafty Sentiments Designs which actually is a freebie with the latest Complete CardMaking mag, anyway when I saw this image having just been watching bits of Mary Poppins it all just kinda fell into place!  The image is called 'flying my kite' and I have coloured him with copics and my papers are from the Lets Fly Away paperstack which was free with Quick Cards.  Added some yellow cs, peeloff sentiment and some little red ribbon bows.

Meet Emily from Mad For Markers

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all enjoying some fabulous weather at long last, we certainly are here in Dorset.  So on to my card this morning, I have used a new digi image from Mad For Markers, she is called 'Emily' and is so versatile.  Here I have made a Just Because card, the papers are Peppermint Creative Winter Sparkle, added some black cs, sparkly ribbon and buttons from my stash the sentiment is a PTI stamp and Emily is coloured with copics.

Ria's activity week project

Well thats it Ria has broken up for the summer holidays,lucky her!  This past week at school has been 'activity week' and Ria has been doing 'Sew What' and this is the end result.  Bearing in mind it was VERY hard to get these pictures but it just didnt look right just on a hanger! so VERY grudgingly she allowed me to take the pics.  She thoroughly enjoyed the week and feels more confident about having a go on her own now so hopefully there will be more of these 'under duress' photos to come! lol  I'm very proud of what she has acheived.

Gypsy Dancer

Well today I have another card using an image from The Paper Shelter that I won, this time I have used 'Gypsy Dance' coloured with copics and just a tiny bit of stardust. Flowers and leaves are punches to which I added some pink pearls.  The embossed border panel I made using my Cricut Gypsy and welding a rectangle to the border piece then resizing before cutting, ribbon is a recent purchase just because I liked the colour! lol  Finished off with a stamped sentiment.

A Girly Card

I have a little card to share with you today that I made using another of the fab images from The Paper Shelter that I won.  This one is called 'Fairy Of The Cookies' and she is just adorable,  I coloured her with copics and added just a little glitter to her wings and headband. The papers are from Bearly Mine Designs Roses Dream and Small Dots. I used Cricut Paperlace cartridge for the cut out circle and finished off with a stamped sentiment, flowers, lace, ribbon bow and butterfly.

New digi at Mad For Markers

Mad For Markers has a couple of new digis in store and they are fab!  They will be great for Christmas and winter cards.  I have made a Christmas card this time and I continued to use the theme of ' Winter Blues B, BV and BG' which is this months challenge over at the Mad For Markers Challenge Blog.  So without further ado meet 'Suzi' I used B12, 23, 24, & 29, R00, 11 &27 & E29, 37 & 57.  My backing paper is from a digi collection called Winter Swirls from Bearly Mine Designs and I have added some iridescent glitter to the trees and under the snowboard then finished off with a stamped sentiment.  Love how this turned out.

Crafty Sentiments ~ Colour Combo

Good morning and seeing as its Tuesday that means its time for a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week its the turn of Team B and we'd love to see your cards using Blue & Orange.  For my card I used 'My Best Friend' which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs I have coloured with copics matted everything on blue cs and my paper is Papermania Happy Days, I added some ribbon, screw top brads and metal letter blocks (they actually came of clips but I really didn't want to add them with the clips) and a clip from my stash.  This is such a fun image and a real joy to colour.  I hope you will stop by and check out the work that the rest of the DT have made for you this week and then why  not join in with our challenge.

Another quick post tonight this time on behalf of Ria, she has made herself a necklace after raiding the buttons! lol took a bit of working out as this was her first time working with wire but we are really pleased with how it turned out and no doubt it will get worn a lot especially as we are now heading for the holidays.  This is her last week and its activities week she is doing an activity called 'Sew What?' and is making herself a dress so at the end of the week I hope to be able to post a pic of her wearing her dress.  Anyway here is the necklace, hope you like it.

New stamps

Don't you just love getting new stamps (and any stash for that matter!)  I do and last week I was lucky enough to win a challenge over at Bearly Mine Designs and the prize was a gift voucher for The Paper Shelter.  I have often looked at these stamps and wished but stash cash only goes so far so to win was a dream and I had great fun and difficulty choosing how to spend my prize.  Now anyone that knows us here knows we have a love for dragons so this particular stamp was a MUST!  It is called Training My Dragon and I have coloured with copics and added some bling using stardust pens papers are First Edition Dreamcatcher, sentiment is from a dragon set I won some time ago then added glitter cs and some pearls, swirl is cut with a sizzix extended cut.

Kenny K blog hop card

Have you checked out the awesome hop and prize over at Kenny K's Krafty Krew?  I love his images but at the moment I only have 3 rubber and some some freebie digis so I'm keeping everything crossed for this one. (though I don't know why I'm tellin' you really coz the fewer of you who enter the greater my chance of winning! lol)  Anyway the challenge is Big Numbers ie, 18, 21, 40 etc so I thought I'd be really organised and make a card for Ria who will be 16 in October (and who also loves the images)  Now I have used one of the Glam Gang images and coloured with copics, Ria isnt what you'd call a girlie girl she lives in jeans, t-shirts and hoodies so this seemed the perfect image to use.  My papers are Fun Lovin' by Raspberry Road Designs and some corrugated Kraft card from my stash.  The sentiment ticket is from Crafty Sentiments Designs and I added the 16, embossed the blue with a triboss folder from Design Objectives and finished off with some blue gems. I'm very pleased with the end result and think Ria will be too.

Mad For Markers Digi Inspiration

Well here I am with a card I have made for the Mad For Markers Blog and I have used the theme of this months challenge over at the Mad For Markers Challenge Blog which this month is 'winter blues ~ use your B, BG & BV colours.  So I used B39, 60, 93 & 95 BV 23 & 29 and E 00 & 21.  My image is Birthday Girl 1 from the birthday collection which is available at the  Mad For Markers Online Store.  I teamed the image up with some new papers from the Papermania Happy Days collection, the die cut is a sizzix extended cut, the sentiment is PTI then I added some gems and pearls from my stash.

Crafty Sentiments Challenge ~ Christmas

Morning all, well this week its the turn of Team A to host the challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and the theme is 'Christmas' well I just couldn't resist playing along too with one of the new stamps that will be released tomorrow at the Crafty Sentiments Design store.  So I chose to use the adorable Candies & Bauble and I coloured her in using my copics and went for non traditional colours in pastel shades to match the papers which are a mix of glitter cs and MME, very glittery so I decided not to add any extra to the image.  I have used the Crafty Cutters Summer Doily which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  The sentiment is a vellum sticker which I put onto some of the pink glitter card and cut out, ribbon is from my stash and I finished off with some card candi.

Crafty Sentiments Preview Day 10

WOW!  Today is the last day of previews for the gorgeous new stamp release at Crafty Sentiments Designs and hasn't the past 10 days worth of previews been amazing.  I'm sure the DT have given you lots of inspiration and shown you how gorgeous these stamps are and they are available to buy on the 11 July.

Well today sees the turn of 'Carrying the tree', I have coloured with copics and cut out using the out of the box technique.  Paper is MME (I think its about 2 years old!) I have put some strips of white vellum that has been embossed with swiss dots and attached it with brads then added some ribbon a bow and a tree charm.

Something a little darker!

I recently won a challenge over at A & T Sketch Challenge and I got to pic 5 digi images and this is one of them.  I love the image but it is a little bit different from my usual images but then its good to have a shake up every now and again.  Mind you Ria rather likes the image and I know it will be a fitting card for some of her friends too.  Anyway I have used Skull with Top Hat, coloured with my copics and a little sakura stardust.  Papers are EP Times & Seasons, the cog cut is a spellbinders and then I have added flowers, leaves, brad, buttons and ribbon from my stash and finished off with a peeloff I coloured.  I am pleased with how this turned out as is Ria.

With gratitude

Gosh we really are seeing some rain here.  Ria and I had planned to go shopping in our local town of Bridport which is only 6 miles away but we had to turn around due to flooding!  In all the time I have lived here (about 30 years!) I have never seen Bridport flooded another 5 miles on is the coast and so far we are far enough inland and far enough up a hill that all the local flooded rivers are not effecting us, just as well its my weekend off or I'd have been stuck in Bridport at work!  It has rained non stop here for over 26 hours but it looks like it might be easing off now, fingers crossed.

Mind you it has meant I can spend time in my craft room and do some crafting (when I'm not checking out the flood pictures on facebook! very time consuming!)  Anyway here is a card that I have made.  I used papers from Barely Mine Designs, flowers, ribbon and pearls from my stash and the wonder butterfly is a die cut from Crimson Cloud which was part of my winnings from a challenge a couple of weeks ago.  It really is gorgeous. Finished off with a simple sentiment stamp from Papertray Ink stamped in green ink.

Crafty Sentiments Preview Day 8

Todays preview for the new stamp release for Crafty Sentiments Designs is using the cute stamp 'Snowman & Friends' and I thought I'd do something a little different for me!  Now last year I remember making a card that had a snow globe on it so I thought I'd go one bigger and make my card the snow globe!  I used my cricut gypsy to weld the shape together so that I could cut it out as one piece.  Then I cut the stamped image out, coloured with copics put in place on the card and then covered it in crystal lacquer and sprinkled some glamour dust and left it to dry!  This is the finished card but the photo doesn't really do it justice:-

A quick Happy Birthday

I just love these Papermania papers but I'm rapidly running out of them! lol  I have used them with a fabulous Kenny K image (don't have many of these but do love 'em!) coloured with copics and raised up using foam dots, the little shiny 'Happy Birthday' sentiment I have had for a long time just added a little ribbon to the back of it.
