Just a quick card

Ok well I hope you have all had a wonderful christmas and Santa bought you all lots of lovely gifts and plenty of crafting goodies.  Its nice to get back to crafting as havent had the chance for a few days so here is my card.  I have used DCWV Glitter Stack for the papers and the image is Cuddle Anya which I got from Simon Says Stamp as part of my prize for winning a challenge over at Stamp Something, I also got another TGF stamp and some tiny prima flowers one of which I have used on this card.  Her hat and teddy have been cut out of cream glitter card and then paperpieced and then I decoupaged another arm, card candy, eyelet, ribbon and big bloom all from my stash.  I have also added a watermark to the card which is part of my prize for winning a challenge over at Sentimental Sundays along with the signature on my blog posts.

And Finally ...

For tonight anyway! lol  A nice quick and simple card.  I have used a 'Bringing Crafts - Too you' embossing folder with some lilac whitewashed coredinations cs which I have then sanded to show some of the lilac thru then added the winter wishes sentiment cut from a piece of plain lilac cs.  Kept this very simple as I really think the embossing speaks for its self.

Sentimental Sundays #34 ~ Inspired by a song

This week Sentimental Sunday are challenging us to be inspired by a song, well I am still making my christmas cards so the song that inspired this card is 'Oh Christmas Tree' (didnt see that one coming did we! lol) anyway the image was a printed tree on acetate that I got at Creative Stitches along with the glitters and I didnt want to mount it onto white so went with the black and then used some glittered paper from the DCWV glitter pad too.  the Celebrate the season ribbon was also a Creative stitches buy and the charm and flowers are from my stash.

Nearly done them!

Yep nearly made all my cards for Christmas only a few left and here is another of them, again a nice simle one but I like the effect this one gives hope you like it too.  I have used white cs and embossed each layer using either snowflakes fiskers texture plate or swiss dots cuttlebug folder, I have added blue and hologrpahic glitter glue to define edges and the centre piece is a sizzix thin cut die.

A very simple Christmas card

Here is a very simple card that I have made today, I have used a cuttlebug embossing folder and a piece of charcoal coloured cs that has a white core so after embossing the card I sanded it then mounted it onto a card blank and added a simple silver peeloff greeting.  I'm having to make quick cards as running out of time and need them for work mates!  mind you if we have the snow they are forecasting for us here in Dorset getting to work may be a bit difficult, possibly 10cms and I'm on the early shift! keep your fingers crossed for me that it don't snow!

Another one done

Well this one would have been finished ages ago if I hadnt decided to have stitching on it and then my sewing machine decided it didnt want to play and after about half an hour of trying to get it sorted to no avail I had to start again but without the stitching!  The image and papers are from the Joanna Sheen Vintage Christmas cd and I added some christmas printed vellum paper too which has lots of words on it to do with Christmas.  Everything else is from my stash.

Well I wasn't going to make a card tonight, my desk had no space on it!, and I was shattered after work today, snow is definately not worth it! lol  Well I have the weekend off and it doesnt look like we will be going anywhere in a hurry so I cleared the desk and found a few bits and pieces that were left over from last year to which I added some flowers, a brad and a charm, got the sewing machine warmed up and hey presto a card.  The image and papers are actually from the Joanna Sheen Vintage Christmas cd.

Dotties World - Anything Goes ~ Blue

Have you been joining in with the recent challenges over at Dotties World - I have (no surprises there really)  Anyway the rules have been relaxed and now you can use any images you want just follow the theme BUT if you do use a Charmed image then you get a 2nd entry in to the draw.  Well I definately used a charmed image this time it is Dottie dressed as a tree from the Bumper Christmas Collection and the theme this time is 'blue' so I coloured her tree costume blue and added clear and blue sakura stardust for some bling. the blue is glitter cs and the white cs I have embossed and then rubbed with blue ink.  The little trees are some brads I got a couple of years ago.

Papertake Weekly ~ A Sketch

This week the challegne over at PaperTake Weekly is a sketch and I stuck rigidly to the sketch this time and it is a very minimilistic card but the papers are so glittery and I added glitter with sakura pens to the image that I didnt feel it really required anything else, but now its done I'm not so sure! lol  Mum this is one of the ones you wanted.  Papers are scraps from my MME Wonderful Winter glitter pad (I still have loads of this!) ribbon is from my stash and the darling image is Dottie in the Snow from Charmed Cards and Crafts, precoloured with bling added.

A bit of a cheats card!

Have just made this really quick card and its a bit of a cheat really as the ribbon and tree are actually off a card we received last year but I liked the simplicity of it and thought the actual design could be used again and again with different images (I made another one lusing the basic layout a few days ago) the paper is a scrap from the MME Wonderful Winter pad and then I just punched the corners and added the little holly and berry embellishements which I made last year and never got round to using!  Right I'm off to make tea not but will be back crafting later.

Pear Tree Designs #28 ~ Sketch with a twist ~ include gems

Good afternoon from a very cold and snow covered Dorset.  Ria is thrilled it meant no school today and I'm hoping for it to clear as I have to get to work tomorrow on an early shift!  Still it has meant I can craft today!  So without further delay here is my project.  It is for the sketch challenge this week over at Pear Tree Designs and I have to add that I was lucky to win their challenge last week and received 5 digi stamps from the chirstmas collection by Cardmadfairy Creations so how could I not use one of the those fabulous images.  I chose the super cute 'Buttons' snowman who I coloured with copics and a touch of sakura stardust.  My white cs I have embossed and inked the edges of, the ribbon and gems are from my stash and the gorgeous star buttons are from my recent blog candy win.  The sentiment is a digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments (these are great as you can have them whatever size you want and there are 6 in the collection.)

Crafty Sentiments # 46 ~ New Beginings

Well here we are its Thursday again and the Crafty Sentiments DT have some really wonderful creations for you again this week.  Our theme is 'New Beginings' now that could be New Year, New Home, New Job or any other such, so I went with New Baby because I really wanted to use this cute stamp of a Teddy with a basket of Fowers (availble at the Crafty Sentiments store), now isn't he cute?  I coloured with copics then used flower soft for the actual teddy to give it some dimension.  The papers are some digi ones that I printed out quite some time ago and these are some scraps of that which were in the scraps drawers.  Ribbon, flowers and mulberry paper are all from my stash and the sentiment is from Charmed Cards & Crafts from the Once Upon a Time collection.  As I havent made this for anyone in particular I went with a neutral pastel theme as opposed to a pink or blue theme.  Dont forget to check out what the other team members have been up to and then why not join us for the challenge 'Go on You know You want to!' all the details are over at Crafty Sentiments Design Challenge Blog.

Totally Gorjuss #58 ~ Oh Christmas Tree

This was a very quick card to make and I think I shall be making more like this with slight differences.  Papers used are papermania and MME Wonderful Winter with glitter, some self adhesive ribbon (had for absolutely ages) and the image is actually a freebie glue image that I had on a magazine probably a couple of years ago now that I never got round to using so decided today was the day and then I used a deep red glitter to echo some of the red trees on the background.  This card was made for the challenge this week over at Totally Gorjuss where the theme is Trees.

Another fabulous challenge over at Dotties World, and you dont have to use a charmed digi stamp but if you do you can enter twice.  So I decided to use a cute little image from the Sugar & Spice collection.  I used a pre coloured one and then changed the colour of her dress using wc pencils to suit the theme of RED and to match with the background paper which is from my scrap drawer and I dont know what make it is, sorry.  I have teamed the image up with a fab freebie sentiment from Sentimental Sundays.  The flowers are from my stash I actually got the red ones on a long stem from Wilkinsons and then I took them apart!, leaves are a punch and the card candy I changed to black using my trust copics!  When I first laid this card out I had the image and sentiment straight (last night) and then this morning after I had moved a couple of bits around on my desk I discovered the image and sentiment had moved on the card and I actually preferred them this way! just as well I was too tired last night to stick them down lol

Crafty Sentiments # 44 ~ Red & Black

This week at Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog we have a colour challenge for you of RED & BLACK.  For my card I dug out some papermania paper from way back for the base then I used some red hollographic card for the mat.  My image is Pat In Summer and I gave her a party feeling by adding glitter to her top and shoes and by giving her a 2tone hair colour.  The sentiment is a silver peeloff which I coloured red and then I added a gold peeloff to the edge of the circle, the ribbon is self adhesive which I have had for a couple of years and then I finsihed off with some red and black flowers that I bought at Creative Stitches.

This lo has been done for the challenges over at the Scrap That Idea forum, I missed the last one and have very nearly missed this one too!  Vicki gave us all a fabulous kit called Spice Of Life and we had to use more than 1 photo, practice clustering and use the alpha that comes with the kit in some way.  The kit is so gorgeous and bright and full of wonderful elements so I enjoyed putting this one together tho my clustering skills still need more practice!  The pictures are off course of DD Ria and she was climbing one of her favourite trees at Cobham Hall.  TFL

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #84

Over at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge this week the idea is to take our inspiration from one of the DT cards, now this wasnt easy as there are plenty of great cards to take inspiration from so in the end I opted for the sketch provided by Cheri.  I rotated the sketch for my card because it suited my image to do that.  The cs is coredinations (3 shades of pink even though it almost looks red in the pink it is actually a deep pink colour!) I embossed 2 pieces using a fiskar texture plate, the pink organza ribbon and brads are all from my stash.  The image is a Lilli of the Valley stamp 'Lineart Snowman' which I won back last year.  I stamped it with versamark ink and then used irridescent mica pigment to 'colour' it and then added a little peeloff sentiment to finish the card off.  Hope you like it.

Still its a lo I wanted to do anyway so no problem.  I have used elements from various digi kits by designers over at Scrap That Idea.  The paper is just a black background and then I used a photoshop daily brush for the stardurst on it.  I took loads of photos on Friday night but alot werent as good as I would have liked so I used some of the best ones here, also got some pics of the fire itself but not sure of the best way to scrap them yet so they will come along at a later date.

Thanks for looking.
