Dotties World Challenge #11

Oh my this proved to be really difficult for me this week! The challenge went ... Are you sitting down? Good because this week it's a toughie! At first glance you may not think so but wait until you try it.....
I want you to dig out those papers that you assigned to the 'never to be used' pile and get crafting with them. You know the ones I mean, you buy a set of beautiful papers but there's always one that you know you'll never use, well today, it's all going to change.
So, use at least one of your neglected papers as the main element of your project and any of the Charmed Downloads, and remember.........BE HONEST!
Now I have loads of paper that I'm really not keen on I buy it on impulse liking what I see at the time then when I get it home and look more closely I change my mind, Because I tend to buy most of it at my LCS I buy it when it comes in and its usually PM, ok I know not the best idea but I am trying to be far more selective and I love all my digi kit papers and they are the free ones! so for card making its great, anyway chose my image darts George coloured in in PSE5) from the sporty George collection as a friend is about to turn 40and he plays darts and I thought it would be easy to find a paper to use - how wrong was I?! I have loads but they just didnt work with the image I'm not totally convinced that this one works either but I have managed to complete the challenge and I was begining to panic! well its PM papers from a stack but cant remember which one (I have quite a few!) some ribbon from my stash to cover up the join as the papers are 6x6, some silver peeloffs and a couple of gems. An Award

Firstly thank you again Lea and Sammi for the award These ladies are fab crafters and I love visiting their blogs for inspiration and am honoured that they chose me. I am now going to try and fulfill its requirements. The rules are: 1. Only 5 people allowed. 2. 4 have to be dedicated followers of your blog. 3. 1 has to be someone new and live in another part of the world. 1. Sue truely inspirational and so very talented. 2. Ruth another favourite haunt of mine go check it out. 3. Nicky a fairly new blogger and I love her cards they are very imaginative. 4. Natasha another very talented lady who has some great ideas. 5. Patty I came across this blog after she visited me when I had a PIF she is in Louisiana in America and makes Christmas cards to pass to the troops serving over in Iraq and also has other crafting bits on her blog so go check it out. Wow that was quite hard as I have tried to choose people who have not received the award yet but I love all of these blogs and many more.

Cooking Dottie

My card for MIL used cooking Dottie from the Dottie At Home collection which I have decoupaged (which doesnt really show in the photo and when I tried to do a side view it looked yukky!) and coloured in using water colour pencils and sakura pens, the papers are Junkitz which were free with Scrapbook Inspirations, the candle on the cake is a fastenator with small adhesive gems in the corners of the image and a silver peeloff. TFL

Papertake weekly challenge

Ok sorry not been around much for a couple of days been a bit busy with one thing or another but did manage to get a couple of cards made for Ria to take to school, the first one is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge Katherinas sketch #7 using Teacher Dottie and papers from Raspberry Road Designs Fun Lovin digi kit image coloured using water colour pencils and sakura pens, ribbon from my stash and sentiment added using dymo and gems from my stash. The second card was using teacher George and paper from Raspberry Road Designs Christmas Surprise digi kit and gold holographic card and the adhesive stones in varying sizes are PM, this one was for the headmaster who was also one of Rias main teachers and he liked the card as George has baggy trousers like he does and I added the smiley face to the board as this is what he puts after marking each piece of work. Am now working on a card for MIL as its her birthday tomorrow and I'm not getting very far at the moment so best I go and get on with it. TFL. x

Dotties World Challenge #10

Wow I'm back and everyone has been so busy while I was away its taken me an age to catch up with what everyone has been doing but I think I have now done that and managed to do the challenge too! Challenge #10 on Dotties World goes like this Rhinestones...Ribbon and Raised...Raised can be corregated/textured Card, embossed paper,3d card or just foam pads, the choice is yours. Well I went with a bit of a black and white theme so coloured rocking George using pencils and sakura pens, used black & white stripy ribbon, black card and music paper by Raspberry Road Designs New Beginings kit then added some rhinestones that I got today in £land (120 different sized!) the image is raised using silicon glue. TFL

Anyway the narrowboat holiday went really well and I think all 3 of our residents enjoyed it I did but came home absolutely shattered! Then today had to take Ria shopping for bridesmaid shoes managed to get some for £15 from BHS so that was good, cant believe the wedding is in 2 weeks - Ria only has 2 days left at primary school! Its great to be back and lovely to be in my craft room I missed it and all of my blog blog buddies out there in blog land. x

Dotties World Challenge #9

Hello everyone just one last card to put on tonight then nothing from me for the next week I'm afraid as I'm off on a narrow boat holiday well I say holiday its actually work 3 staff taking 3 residents but it should be great fun just hope the weather improves dramatically! Anyway I managed to complete this weeks challenge over at Dotties World which is;- 'Pick a Letter'. The challenge this week is a little bit different.....Choose any letter in the alphabet, and use as many things on your card beginning with that letter as possible, for example, if you choose the letter ‘S’ you could use stitching, stamping, spots, staples, stickers, slugs, snails, stars, anything beginning with the letter ‘S’. You can use other things too, of course. Either Dottie, George or a Kitty from the downloads must also feature on your card of course, but get really creative with the other elements. Can’t wait to see what you come up with. The DT cards are as always totally amazing as are the other cards that people have been making. Took me ages to think what letter I wanted to use andit wasnt till I saw one in the Docrafts newsletter this morning that I knew what to do - So I have used 'S' Skating Dottie, slider card, stripes, snap, stamp, silver (eyelet and ribbon) snowflakes, seasonal and sentiment, the papers are by Raspberry Road Designs Annies Room. TFL Hopefully I will get the next challenge done after I get back next Friday. Oh no a whole week with out crafting :( Ok see you all in a week, happy crafting I look forward to catching up with all your creations upon my return. x

finished card

Ok I'm sorry but I have to admit to having done some of the hw today! DOH has been rained off and he has been about all day too! Had to make sure kitchen was squeeky clean as waiting for a plumber to come and sort out a very leaky tap, so leaky we have now had to turn the water off and guess what we are still waiting! Anyway I have finished my card, its for a friend who is going to be 25 (in case you hadnt guessed) on Sunday while we are away cruising along the kennet & avon canal for the week with 3 of our residents, so we intend to have a party on the boat on sunday. I have used a decoupaged Lollipop Dottie coloured with sakura stardust for some sparkle, I added 25 to the lollipop and then diamond glazed it and then used Happy Kitchen papers by Raspberry Road Designs and some little metal flowers that I bought ages ago and had forgotten all about! TFL, now I have to get on and do some paperwork ready for the holiday on Friday but hope to get some more craft time in later, need my fix as I'm not going to do any for a whole week - OMG how will I cope?!

If you want to take a look pop over to her blog, anyway thought it would be nice to get something in the post other than the usual junk mail and bills after being away for 2 weeks. Right now to get on with some HW as I have to go to work this afternoon, and you know what they say .. No rest for the wicked, not that I thought I was that wicked mind you! Anyway hope you all have a great day and spend the weekend relaxing and crafting - I'm working! :(
