A dottie card

Well I have managed to finish the card I started last night but I had to reprint and colour the image as made a mess of my first attempt!lol anyway this is for a colleague who is leaving to start a new job as a deputy home manager. The papers are Sassy Lass by Raspberry Road Designs (Love these papers) the image is of course the delectable Work Out Dottie from Dottie at Home collection, the ribbon is a freebie from ages ago with PM flowers and brads. The card is based on the sketch by Katharina over on the Papertake Weekly challenge which I was tempted to try after visiting Sue's blog, thank you Sue really enjoyed this one. x Hope to be back later as its my day off and I'm hoping to play some more! if the hw allows!

She has used cricket George on pm green paper and the blue paper is from Raspberry Road Snow Blue kit thenshe has stamped thanks in the middle with silver ink. Its a card for her cricket coach as she moves up to the comprehensive in September. TFL. Now we have to choose another image.

TAGGED

Ok before I can get down to doing some crafting I really must get on with this as I have been tagged by Crafty Wanderings so I hope I'm doing this right!
WHAT WAS HAPPENING 10 YEARS AGO? Well Ria would have been 2 1/2 so she would have taken up quite a bit of my time, I was working part time in the same place that I am working now! and we were living in a ground floor flat in not the nicest of areas!
NAME 5 THINGS TO DO TODAY complete my H&S workbook - completed, answer my Tagging! - completed, Visit Brenda and sort some stuff for her - completed, weigh myself - not done yet!(frightend about what the scales will tell me!) CRAFT! - am definately going to do.
SNACKS I ENJOY Oooh now thats hard as I love food! my faves have to be white chocolate and sour cream & chive pringles (not together I hasten to add!)
THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WERE A MILLIONAIRE well apart from helping out other members of the family and giving some to charity which I think we would all tend to do I would buy a small holding so DOH could give up his job and have his own little farm, we'd have horses to satisfy Ria (and me) and I'd have a huge craft room filled with so much stuff, where I could spend ages doing all the different things I would love to do if only I had more time, money and space!
PLACES I HAVE LIVED ok Gillingham Kent, Chepstow Wales, Skipton Yorkshire, Germany and Belgium (BFPO addresses dad was forces) and now here in sunny (well sometimes!) Dorset
So now I have to Tag 5 others so for this I choose Becky Kirsti Joy Sue & Natasha sorry everyone. x

Extraction Challenge on Raspberry Road

Well I seem to be on a crafting roll as I have just spent the evening doing a digi lo for a challenge over on Raspberry Road Designs Forum the challenge is ... This month our focus is on a technique called extraction. Extracting is just taking out part of the photo to use standing alone! It's super fun and can be used as the Out Of Bounds Technique. Rules- Use ONLY Raspberry Road Products (freebies or purchased) Use at least one extraction on your page. Make sure you credit your kit/s in the description. This was a totally alien concept to me as I had never done it before, have seen it and thought very clever but never known how to so thought I'd have a quick look and play today and hey presto I managed it, surprised myself as it wasnt as difficult as I had imagined thanks to the fact that in PSE5 there is a part of the program that really does it for you! so once I'd chosen and extracted the pic the time was taken trying to decide what papers etc use - why does that always take soooo looong to do? or is it only me! Anyway I have used Seventies Styling freebie kit for papers and elements except the tag which is from EasyRider kit again a freebie and all Raspberry Road Designs the font used is Artstamp Medium for the title and Lucidia handwriting in the tag. TFL And I just want to add a great big thankyou to everyone who has been commenting on my cards - you are all great.

Juliet's challenge on Dotties World & Friday Sketchers #7

Well Juliet threw down the gauntlet and it would appear that quite a few of us have taken it up! she said ... Hi everyone, Juliet here.I don't know about you, but I have my favourite Dottie and George images which I use again and again, sooooooo I decided to set myself a personal challenge of using all the images I haven't up to now - anyone want to join me? Well Ria and I have decided to pick up the gauntlet and added one of our own to it! we are going to use the same image and see how our cards differ. Ria is working hard on hers but has had to go out to a party - lifes hard at 11! so I have quietly been getting on with mine (hee hee) just aswell its not a race or she would not be happy! lol We chose cricket George by process of elimination - ip dip! and here is mine. I have used pm papers 'for him' and some black adhesive stones, the image is coloured using water colour pencils, blending pen and whispers strokes pens, this is also my first attempt at a Friday Sketchers challenge as I thought I'd try and give some more challenges a go as I enjoy the ones on Dotties world so much. TFL

Dotties World Challenge #7

Another great challenge this week on Dotties World which goes like this ... This week I want to see you making holes in your projects (no pin pricks, they don't count! (evil laugh again). The holes can be in the actual card or on an element of your card, like mesh or netting. Oh and of course it goes without saying, you have to use a Charmed download too! So is this challenging enough for you?... The DT have made some totally amazing cards again this week, they get better and better you really must pop over and check them out. Anyway when I first sat and started thinking about it I was somewhat flumoxed but then a little light went on somewhere in the depths! and the resulting card was born. I have mounted some gold metallic sheet onto the card then punched my holes in some PM nostalgic christmas paper then mounted angel Dottie and added a little peeloff sentiment. TFL

Dotties World Challenge #6

Well I have scraped thru by the skin of my teeth again this week for the challenge which was .......Floral...Using a download or downloads I want you to incorporate Floral with it in your card, layout or item, it could be Dottie's dress, Georges flowers, Holly, backing paper, embellishments whatever your imagination can conjure up, Well I decided to use Hula Dottie from Dress Up Dottie and the paper is some that I received in the blog PIF I mentioned in an earlier post, I inked the edge of the image card with versa ink cinnamon then added a flower ribbon brad threaded with a strip of the background paper. With dotties hula skirt I used some self adhesive ribbon and attached small pieces of string to it and stuck it over the coloured image., now I'm ready for tomorrows challenge!

Blog PIF

Well I had a wonderful blog PIF (pay it forward) that arrived yesterday on my way out to work! This was as a result for blog hopping and I happend across Julias paper wishes when she was showing her stunning PIF she had received and then what the rules were, anyway I couldn't resist and this is what she sent me, I am over the moon and now its my turn to pass some of my stuff forward so here are the rules: RULES: The first three people to post a comment will recieve a PIF gift from me ( some printed and stamped images and some papers). Then these people need to pass a gift forward (PIF) to three other people, does that explain it to everyone? You MUST have a blog to do this AND you MUST pass this onto three people.
So come on in and grab a gift and pay it forward!

another christmas card

Well I did manage to fit in one more card last night again using a coloured in image of Dottie and papers from Raspberry Road. I ran the backing paper through with the cuttlebug folder then I filled in some of the words to make them stand out a little more, I quite like the effect, strange how thinkgs come to you when you are up really late!

Have been over and checked out the challenge on Dotties World so shall be attempting that one some time this week. Right must go a prepare the lunch, having it early coz I'm working this afternoon. Bye for now and TFL.x

Some Christmas Cards!

Well I haven't been able to get to my pc today for crafting as I had a problem with Norton and that needed sorting after several attempts to rectify it not working we had to remove it then re-install it then do a system scan and the whole lot seemed to take forever and unfortunately I needed the pc to be able to print off the images and papers I wanted. So after homemade fish pie for tea and a sit down to watch Dr Who I finally got back to my craft room and put together 3 christmas cards (all Dottie ones!) I have to admit to a slight accident on one of the snowmen as I was trying so carefully to cut round his twig hair I managed to snip one off and rather than collapse into a simpering heap I just had to cut the rest off. All the papers I have used are Raspberry Road Designs Freebie papers - Annies room (pink & green) and Snow Blue (pink & blue) in addition to the papers I have used inks, ribbon (more freebies!), peel offs and a recycled sentiment. Really enjoyed doing these, am loving the coloured in images. Well I might just get one more made before I call it a night but wont upload that til tomorrow, so for now I wish you all a good night. x

Fathers Day Card by Ria

Well Ria was almost too late to get her card done for the challenge this week on Dotties World as the new one comes out tomorrow! but she just managed to get it completed tonight by making her Fathers Day Card. Hope you like it. She has used PM papers, Fishing George from 'sporty George' collection coloured using sakura glaze and startdust pens and then drawn the stitching on. TFL

Robo June Challenge card

Well just a quick one tonight as I really need to get to bed soon as I'm on the early shift! Managed to follow the fantastic tutorial from UKScrappers for designmaster on my lovely Robbie and like the method which worked well but now that I've made it into a card I'm not sure about my finished object. I used the 'Porkys' font and the flower in the middle is from the hibiscus dingbat font. Papers are PM and I cuttlebugged the background one then finally added some adhesive stones. I think maybe I should have cut the text from a darker paper to give a bit more of a contrast, maybe I'll give it another go over the w/e with some different papers. Right thats me done. Goodnight all and thanks for stopping by. x

Not much happening!

Well its my day off today and I dont seem to be getting anywhere - mind you had the boiler serviceman here for nearly 2 hours doing an annual check and as always they find a problem and replace bits I think over the past few years we have had every conceivable part replaced why they dont just replace the whole thing for once and all I dont know, this time it was leaking inside (it was leaking out last time very wet stuff in my boiler cupboard!) give it a couple of days and it will probably go wrong yet again! So apart from blog hopping and lunch I really haven't done anything although it has been nice to be lazy for a change and this afternoon I'm going to have a go at the robo challenge on UKScrappers poor old Robbie has been feeling a bit neglected recently! Did mangae to complete the last of my anniversary cards did this one using JS victorian birthdays againbut didnt get time to scan it before I had to deliver it! Right off to play with Robbie now, catch you all later. x

Fathers day card

Well sorry I didnt get back last night but things conspired against me, mainly DOH hogging pc and getting in my way in the craft room bless him! Anyway here is the finished card - I used cheer leader Dottie from Dress Up Dottie and coloured using sakura stardust pens and also some purple metallic thread stitched into the poms poms (but it doesnt show up as well as I'd hoped!) inked round the edges and then put onto PM stripy paper with punched edge and the text done using Dymo junior. Now I just need to make an anniversary card then I can go to bed! TFL

Hello

Wow, thank you to everyone who has left me such positive comments about my recent cards, I really do appreciate it, after all who doesn't like to receive a bit of praise every now and again. Well today has been hot and boring! Had an NVQ meeting this morning then came home and did a bit of the housework, prepared lasagne for tea and not a lot else so I am now in my craft room and planning on doing something for fun and that is interesting to me at least I will when I've cleared my desk so that I can work on it! I am such an untidy crafter! Have you been over to Dotties World today? Nicola has made a truely gorgeous anniversary card incorporating a dovecot and busy George & Dottie from the Christmas collection, totally awesome and inspiring and there have been some fab cards done for the challenge this week, what an incredibly talented bunch of ladies. Right I'm off to clear my desk and play, might get back later. x

Dotties World Challenge #5

This week Juliet has set the challenge on Dotties World and it goes like this;

You can make this as simple or as detailed as you like - the challenge is to make a card featuring one of 'Dottie's World' downloads but I would like you to use both stripes and stitching on your card. The design team have come up with some fabulous examples and Nicola's is to die for it is truely amazing - you have to pop over and have a look. As I have had the house to myself this morning I have been having a play and completed my card for the challenge already, which is amazing for me coz I usually spend hours just trying to decide which fantastic image to use and then hours more deciding what papers I need! but today this one just jumped out at me so I used Tree Dottie (already coloured) from the christmas collection and I added some sparkle to the tree ornaments, tinsel and dotties hair using sakura stardust pens, the papers are by Shabby Princess free digi kit Holiday magic and the faux stitching is with a white sakura glaze pen. I think these pre coloured images are going to be getting a lot of use! what a fab bonus they are.

Well I suppose I had better go and get ready for work now or I will end up being late but I'd much rather be staying at home and playing with Dottie & George! Til next time. Bye. x

another anniversary card

Well as per normal when I want to spend my time crafting it never works out that way and today was no exception! Had some NVQ study to get done so did some of that and a bit of hw and this evening nearly fell asleep infront of the TV! but I did manage to complete another anniversary card. Have used Christmas Kiss from the Dottie and George Bumper Christmas Collection which is truely amazing. (I removed the mistletoe before printing it out), coloured the image in using water colour pencils (must get some decent ones!) and sakura glaze pens. The papers are from a digi kit by Susan Darter of Raspberry Road Designs called Mothers Love, she does some amazing kits both for sale and as freebies and the balloon is a quikcutz die and the final touch was the peeloff sentiment. TFL. It is now time I went to bed so I can be up nice and early to check out the Sunday Challenge on Dotties World before I have to go to work for the afternoon. Hope Ria is enjoying camp, I shant see her til Monday coz she should be safely tucked up in bed by the time I get home from work tomorrow! So goodnight all and thanks to everyone who has visited and left lovely comments. x

A Day Off!

Yipee a whole day off! if only I could spend the whole of it crafting! but I really must get some housework done today and get Ria's kit sorted for Scout Camp tomorrow but I have snuck into my craft room and made another anniversary card. 2 down and 2 to go! only trouble is christmas Dottie & George are calling me! lol. Oh well here is the card I used the Joanna Sheen Victorian Birthday cd and some gold card I got ages ago then I inked some paper lace border that I got from lakeland and finally added a peeloff sentiment. TFL will be back later.

Good night all.

CHRISTMAS DOTTIE AND GEORGE

I'm sooo excited, what a day this has turned out to be! The new Dottie and George Christmas bundle has been released its here and is totally fabulous! I'm going to enjoy making my Christmas cards this year. Fantastic work Louly I love 'em!

I got Customer Thursday!

Well after 2 very tiring and trying days at work and coming home today feeling totally fed up and really quite down I come on line pop over to Dotties World (my first stop after switching on!) and I am totally gob smacked as Juliet has chosen me for Customer Thursday - you made my day, thank you soooooo much. I am now floating around with a huge grin on my face and DOH is wondering why! (think I'll keep him wondering for a while yet!!)
Anyway got home after work last night and needed to unwind so found myself making a card and suddenly realised I was working on the challenge from Sunday and it all fell into place quite nicely and it has been delivered to its recipient today as she is going to be away for her birthday.

This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge. Now interpret this sketch as you please, there are no rigid rules, just let your imaginations flow. Two simple specifications:
Your interpretation must contain at least one of our downloads.
I would like to see at least one brad or button.
Here is the sketch (pop over to Dotties world to see the sketch)

Will probably pop back again later when I've calmed down a bit! Thanks for visiting. x

Animal fabric card

Well not been around for a few days just been busy with not much spare time but not with anything interesting! And today was just a lazy day and not a lot acheived at all! I did manage 1 card which is for a friends birthday on Friday and her fave animal is giraffes so this just had to be the one. It is a square panel from some fabric I got in a local quilting shop then the animal print paper is a freebie from the internet I forget where at the moment. Right it is late and I have another full day tomorrow so I had best call it a night but before I go I must just say a huge thanks to Louly and Juliet without their help I would not have mastered uploading those wonderful blinkies! So thank you ladies. Go and check out their fabulous blogs, Louly has got some blog candy going on too!
