In the 20's

Just thought I'd pop on and share a card I've made using the gorgeous 'In The 20's' from The Paper Shelter.  I really should be concentrating on making Ria's birthday card but not easy when she is around and I want it to be a surprise especially as it's for her 18th in a weeks time.  Yes I know I still have a week but on Tuesday I go in to hospital for day surgery on my left thumb which will then result in being in plaster for 4 weeks and I'm also having an injection in my right thumb so looks like I'd better get on with it! lol

Anyway back to the card, it is a precut and scored card base which I have then used papers from First Editions Blank Canvas pad.  I used papers from the pad to paper piece her coat and hat and she is coloured using spectrums, all the flowers, leaves and butterflies are cut on the Cricut or punched using the same papers, the sentiment was cut on the Cricut and a couple of brads were added to the flowers.  Hope you like it.

Pretty in Glitter with the Divas

Good morning well it's time for a brand new challenge over at Divas by Design and this week we want to see your 'Pretty in Glitter' creations.  We are sponsored by

For my creation this week I made a birthday banner for a family member who turned 10 and loves ice skating, she is definitely a girly girl so pinks and purples were called for and I managed to get quite a bit of glitter involved too!  I started with some pink glitter cs and cut the banner on the Cricut and some flowers, then I cut the Happy Birthday, 10 and flowers from purple cs also on the Cricut.  The image is from The Paper Shelter, coloured with copics, spectrums and then glittered, finished off with a gem in her hair and some crystal butterflies with the flower, I've added a close up of the image too.  I am pleased to say the recipient was very pleased with it.

New Release at Crafty Sentiments Designs ~ Day 3

Ok so how are liking the new Christmas stamps from Crafty Sentiments Designs?  Aren't they just adorable and they will be available in store tomorrow.  Today I get to show you the wonderful 'More Presents' she is just so cute and I thought I'd team her up with the 'fireplace' accessory stamp from Crafty Sentiments Designs (already available!)  I coloured the fireplace with my spectrum pencils and blending fluid as I wanted them coloured more softly than the main image and am pleased with how the bricks turned out.  The image is coloured with spectrums and a little glamour dust added, well it wouldn't really be Christmas without a little sparkle. To be honest with you this card is very very different to how it started but I just seemed to be doomed and ended up having to cut it out from the original that I had started but in the end I am happy with how it turned out, I'll just have to try again with my original idea and make sure I don't give myself a tight deadline! lol, at least all was not lost!  So don't forget to head over the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration Blog to check out all the other release projects they are all fabulous.

Christmas In September with Crafty Sentiments

Good morning to you, are you enjoying the fab new release stamps from Crafty Sentiments Designs, they will be available to buy from tomorrow and I'll be back shortly to share my preview of the new release but until then let me tell you all about the new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this time we'd like you to celebrate 'Christmas in September' with us.  The prize this week is this adorable stamp ...

For my card I have used 'Christmas Seasons' from the recent new release and coloured her with copics and spectrum pens & pencils, I was trying for a more muted vintagey feel to the card and colours, hope I achieved it. Papers are Bo Bunny and I have over stamped the bottom layer with a festive foliage stamp in a similar colour, the sentiment is also cut from a piece of the papers, finished off with some poinsettia die cuts with glittered dots in the middle and then a few green gems.

Crafty Catz #247 ~ Pretty Woman

Good morning, well it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Catz and this time the wonderful Nick has chosen the theme of 'Pretty Woman' and we have a fabulous sponsor (one of my faves!)

And the DT got to play with some of those 'pretty women' so be sure to check them out they are gorgeous creations as always and talking of DT the fabulous Ingrid and Cindy are staying with us as permanent DT members, Yay and that of course means that it is time to look for some new GDT so if you'd like to join a truely great friendly team for 3 months from October than please add GDT after your name to be in the running.

Now onto my card, well it's not really a card this time, quite a while ago I made some ribbon cupcakes for my aunt and as she lives in Kent I made them well ahead of time and took them on  visit so as not to damage them in the post, but I still needed to make a topper for the cake so I have used 'Happy Hour' coloured with copics and spectrums and cut out with dies then using the Cricut I cut out the speech bubbles, the sentiment on the reverse side then sandwiches a pin in place to put it into the cake, my aunt is very pleased with it and hopefully the recipient will be too when she receives it next month on her 50th! lol and she is a definate blonde too, lol  This was great fun to make and I hope you all have great fun making some 'pretty woman' projects to join in our challenge.

Crafty Catz #246 ~ Clean & Simple

Good morning, good morning, good morning, (well I hope it's a good one, this is a sheduled post! lol)  Anyway over at Crafty Catz it is time for a brand new challenge and this week it was my turn to pick the theme and I went with 'Clean & Simple', this is a style that sometimes I struggle with and sometimes it just comes together and this week it was a come together but before I show you what I did let me tell you what the fabulous prizes are ...
PRIZE.....3 digis of their choice.

and

a $10 gift certificate to spend at the Make it Crafty store

So for my card I tried something a little bit different but got the idea after colouring directly on to some Kraft cs the other day only this time I printed onto some dark green cs the same as my card base and place a layer of white cs between the 2, then I coloured the image using my spectrum pencils and blending fluid and then finished off with a stamp and white ink.

Anything Goes with Divas

Good morning, time for everyone's favourite challenge over at Divas by Design, 'Anything Goes' and this week we are sponsored by
and as it's the 10th I can share my card with you as I made it for my mums birthday which was yesterday (hope it arrived in time!).  Now I was really struggling for how I was going to out do the last card I sent her and I was struggling so much I finally decided to take it back a notch and make a C&S card that I hope is elegant too.  So I started with the lovely bird cage die cut which was sent to me by a friend, then I needed to find a bird to fit it and after lots of cutting and resizing I settled upon this one cut with the Cricut.  Cut it in several colours too as I couldn't decide which one I liked best and also hadn't decided what background I was going to used.  So while I was busy pushing bits of paper around my desk the cage ended up on a white card blank and I really liked the effect then the bird came next, after that the embossed lines, Cricut cut Mum and pearls just fell into place and I love how it turned out, hope Mum does too.

I even decorated the inside using a quote I have seen recently while blog hopping, printed on the pc in a colour to match the bird, more embossed lines and final edging using a spectrum pen.

Good morning and it's time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week we'd love to see your 'spots and/or stripes' and we have an adorable stamp up for grabs for the randomly chosen winner.  Check her out ...

So for my card this week I used one of my all time favourite Crafty Sentiments stamps 'Spring Breezy' which is available in the Crafty Sentiments Designs store and I've coloured her up with my spectrums.  The paper is from Bearly Mine Designs and the oval and flourishes are already in place all I did was add my stamped image (by masking) added some rolled black flowers and the sentiment which is a Crafty Sentiment stamp on a Crafty Cutters from Crafty Sentiments die and finished off with 2 little spotty brads and some inking round the edge.  Even my MIL who doesn't like black flowers was impressed! lol  I really like how it turned out.

Crafty Cats #245 ~ One for the Boys

Good morning, the Crafty Catz are back this week after our 2 week break and our wonderful Christine has chosen the theme of 'One for the Boys' and as always we have a super sponsor this week it is
prize...7 images of winners choice
The DT have worked their magic and come up with lots of fabulous inspiration for you so be sure to check them out.  I have used the awesome Bugaboo image 'Rock Kid' for my project this week and thought I'd make a banner instead of a card, the back is blank so a message can be added if I need one at a later date.  The banner is cut on the Cricut and then I have added various die cuts and the sentiment is cut on the Cricut.  I have used a large wooden food skewer and the post.  Had lots of fun making this and love how it turned out.
