My latest digi lo

This lo has been done for the challenges over at the Scrap That Idea forum, I missed the last one and have very nearly missed this one too!  Vicki gave us all a fabulous kit called Spice Of Life and we had to use more than 1 photo, practice clustering and use the alpha that comes with the kit in some way.  The kit is so gorgeous and bright and full of wonderful elements so I enjoyed putting this one together tho my clustering skills still need more practice!  The pictures are off course of DD Ria and she was climbing one of her favourite trees at Cobham Hall.  TFL

Bonfire Night Digi lo

Well I actually made this lo for the Bonfire NIght Challenge over at Pear Tree Desigins but I hadnt realised their challenge closed at 4pm Doh! Still its a lo I wanted to do anyway so no problem.  I have used elements from various digi kits by designers over at Scrap That Idea.  The paper is just a black background and then I used a photoshop daily brush for the stardurst on it.  I took loads of photos on Friday night but alot werent as good as I would have liked so I used some of the best ones here, also got some pics of the fire itself but not sure of the best way to scrap them yet so they will come along at a later date.

Scrap That Idea - Challenge Forum Challenge #6 Outdoor and use at least 8 of the 9 elements

Wow! only just made it this time for challenge 6 over at the Scrap That Idea Forum.  We had a freebie kit called peekaboo and had to use at least 8 of the 9 elements and the photo had to be something or someone outdoors.  Now we are not sure exactly what this plant is and the 'fruit' is about 5" long so is quite big and rounded, oh its not in our garden either so its not something we planted.

Scrap That Idea - Challenge Forum Challenge #4 Title must be a film title

Only just made it in time with this one!  The challenge over at the Scrap That Idea Forum was to use the  great freebie kit from Vicki called Blue Moon, use at least 6 of the 10 elements, (have to admit found that hard) and the title of our lo had to be the title of a film, well it wasnt til I was going thru my photos that I thought about using the classic Hitchcock movie title The Birds.  Took the photo while walking at Leysdown Beach on the Isle of Sheppey recently and couldnt resist a photo of these birds all lined up on the tops of the breakwaters,  I was aiming for some atmosphere to the photo and I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.  Quite pleased with this lo too and the blending of the photo as the main background with a piece of the blue paper from the kit.  Really must spend some time finding out more about the capabilities of photoshop so that I can get more adventurous.  TFL

Scrap That Idea - Challenge Forum Challenge #3 inanimate objects (no people or animals!)

Here is my digi lo for the 3rd challenge over at the Scrap That Idea Forum.  I have used a freebie kit by Vicki (aka A Work In Progress) called Funky Retro and my photo is of a full moon which I took at the beach when I went with Adrian while he was fishing back at the end of June this year.  Took loads of pics and played around with my camera settings got some really unusual pics too that are quiet abstract if you dont know what you are looking at!  Plan to scrap them in the future too. I made this lo while I was travelling back home on the train yesterday, really made the journey fly by especially as the train was packed.  Ria was happily watching a film on my ipod so went quickly for her too!  Had a great week with my mum and dad ~ Thanks Mum & Dad, love ya!  One of the highlights of the week was a trip to the New London Theatre to see 'War Horse' an amazing piece of theatre if you get the chance go see it you will not be disappointed but I will tell more about it in another post.

Scrap That Idea - Challenge Forum Challenge #2 Animals

This time the challenge over at the Scrap That Idea forum is to scrap animals (not the human ones!) and we have to use one of Vickis kits (thats not hard I have quite a collection of them now! and I love 'em! lol)  So for this challenge I have scrapped a picture of one of Ria's bearded dragons, this one is Indie looking very beautiful and the kit I have used is called Simplicity, which was kinda fitting as I wanted to keep the whole layout quite simple.

Vicki (A Work In Progress) decided to continue the challenge forum that started during the World Cup so we had to state our intention to take part and were sent links to a freebie mini kit and we can score points for doing a lo and other things too.  Unfortunately I havent been able to pop on and view everyones work properly yet so that is my task for tomorrow morning!  And I know I am going to see some amazing work and hopefully get more inspiration for the next challenge.  The kit is called Petticoat Lane and we had to use at least 3 of the papers and 6 of the elements which I managed and I used the horse riding pictures from yesterdays post.  TFL

Scrap That Idea - World Cup Promo Final Challenge

Ok here is my layout for the Final Challenge over at Scrap That Idea and this time Vicki made us a beuatiful kit called So Pretty and the challenge was to scrap ourselves! Gulp, I hardly ever do this unless its a specific challenge so I had to look long and hard for a pic of me that I was willing to share! lol Well I found one from 2004 and here is my layout. This time our challenge was to use a black & white photo, at least half the 18 elements and include a date. This kit was designed by Stacey and is called Black Tie. The face has been deliberately blurred! TFL

Well here is another digi lo for the Scrap That Idea challenge, the kit is a freebie which was provided for the challenge, it had 11 elements and the challenge was to use all 11! That was certainly a challenge for me but I got there in the end. lol TFL

Scrap That Idea - World Cup Promo challenge 2

Wow, I am so behind this week, really havent had the time or the energy for crafting :( but made up for that tonight by completing the 2nd challenge over at Scrap That Idea World Cup Promo. Again we were given a freebie kit designed by Staceys Scraps and the challenge was to use 3 different papers and 10 different elements - sounds easy Huh? Nope I really struggled to use 10 different elements but got there in the end, hope you like what I ended up with. The picture is taken at our local seaside venue and it was late afternoon/early evening on Christmas Day 2009, we went for a stroll and I went a bit mad with the camera and this was just one shot of many but I really like how it captured the sunset thru the clouds. TFL

Scrap That Idea - World Cup Promo challenge 1

Over at Scrap that Idea blog they are having a great World Cup Promotion which gives those that enter great chances to win stuff from their store (there are some amazing kits there) Anyway there was a gorgeous freebie kit which you had to use for the first challenge and this is what I made, it took me ages as I'm still finding my way round cs4 but did manage eventually to find a way of cuttng my photo into a different shape so that was good - frustrating but good! lol Oh well best go and get on with the shopping etc then I need to make a frame/picture for Ria's friend as she is off to a party tomorrow. MTTC #94 Wild Thing & Stamp Something ~ something Digi

Ok been working on this for the past 2 evenings and its taken me a while but I am pleased with the final outcome. Its for 2 challenges.

My Time To Craft #94 Wild Thing ~ so what better wild thing but our very own bearded dragon, Wally being very wild attacking and eating his cress, it really is quite comical to watch him lunge at it and play tug of war with it, sometimes he even drags it half way across the vivarium!

Stamp Something ~ Digital something, can be papers, image, sentiment anything that is digi, now I do love doing digi bits and those of you who are regular visitors will know I use a lot of digi papers and I adore Charmed Cards & Crafts digi downloads and of course my TGF digi images too, but there are so many available out there its hard to choose and then I also really enjoy making digi scrapbook pages which what I have done for this challenge, the papers and elements and alpha are all from a kit called Cinnamon Spice except the 3 frame which is from a kit called Circle of Life and they are both by one of my favourite designers Stacey Towers aka Stacey's Scraps. And for anyone interested in digi kits 4 fantastic designers inc Stacey trade together at a place called Scrap That Idea and they have new stuff every week, so go check 'em out.

I have used Photoshop CS4 which I am still finding my way round so it gave me lots of practice and I really enjoyed putting this one together so Ihope you all enjoy looking at it. TFL xx

Dotties World - A Sketch

The challenge over at Dotties World this week was a sketch and the DT made some absolutely gorgeous samples to inspire us. I decided I would use this sketch to make a digi scrapbook page and as I have recently taken delivery of Photoshop CS4 which is a much more fuller program than photoshop elements but it is also a lot more complicated as all the little things like drop shadows are not where I was expecting them! but I did finally manage to complete the layout and also made an edge round the circle that I hope looks a bit like its been inked and I gave some texture to the red circle using overlay and blending bits that I didnt know about. (I'm self teaching can you tell! lol) Anyway the images are all from Charmed Cards & Crafts (of course!) and the papers and elements are from a kit called Ivy League by by Stacey Towers aka Scraps by Stacey. and not even for a challenge! Today we went to Hastings to the Blue Reef Aquarium and when we had finished there we took a stroll and then took a ride on the East Hill Lift. It is an amazing accomplishment considering it was first opened in 1902

PaperTake Weekly Sketch #38

I used the sketch from PaperTake Weekly this week to make another digi lo. The papers are from a digi collab kit by Vicki aka A Work In Progress & Sara aka Sweet Blossom Designs and also from Primary Grunge by Vicki. The shell elements I made myself! (took me all night yesterday! I'm sure it will get quicker with practice!lol The picture I took yesterday over on the Isle of Sheppy and although it was a sunny day it was very windy and VERY cold with the wind coming in off the sea but it was worth it I'm quite happy with the photos I took and hope to do some more lo's with them in the future. TFL Been craft shopping again today and got a few more new bits and tomorrow we are back over to Sheppy for some dog walking and a picnic so hopefully more photo opportunities.

Scrap That Idea - Scrap Your Hunk

I have been following the designers from Scrap That Idea for quite a while now and have an extensive library of their freebie kits and these group of 4 ladies certainly do produce some awesome kits and I use their papers quite a bit in my card making. Well they also have a blog and the latest challenge was set by Stacey of Staceys Scraps (link in my side bar) and she wanted us to Scrap Your Hunk but I do not want any LO's of your hubbys, your boyfriends or children...NOOOOOO you need to scrap the 'secret' love (celebrity) of your life! lol well after not being able to craft much recently I decided it was time for a digi lo and here it is. I used a freebie collab kit called Let It Rock which is by Vicki - A Work In Progress and Sara - Sweet Blossom Designs. Really enjoyed this challenge and hope to be taking part in more of their challenges too. TFL

Sketch & Stash Challenge #26

I have used the sketch over at Sketch & Stash this time to make a digi scrapbook page. My new stash is the digi kit, which is a freebie from the very talented Vicki Parker aka A Work In Progress, she really does make some awesome kits. The pic is one I took recently before all the snow when we had a hard frost, I had difficulty getting close to the washing line to get some pics as the ground was soooo icy! The webs (there were several of them) looked so much better irl! lol TFL On target so far for my 'scrapbook page a fortnight' too! lol

PaperTake Weekly - Sketch #31

The sketch this week over at PaperTake Weekly I have used to do a scrapbook page as I have challenged myself to make one once a fortnight! The picture is of my dd Ria and it was taken on Christmas day in the afternoon when we went for a walk at West Bay. I have edited the picture in PSE5 and removed most of the colour apart from the colour of Ria (I'm still learning about all these different things I can do with my pics!lol) The papers are Raspberry Road Designs a digi freebie kit called Oceans Apart, title was done on the pc and the blooms are from my stash. I was very tempted to try and fill the empty space at the top but decided to go with the 'white space' trend, I think I like it lol. TFL
