For my make I used 'Sunbonnet Seamstress 3' and I paper pieced the new dress and the rest is coloured with spectrums, papers are PM Happy Days and I used this to make another page for my calendar finished of f with some buttons, the calendar page and some faux stitching.

Vintage with Lace at Divas By Design

Oh this week we have a great challenge for you over at Divas By Design and it's 'Vintage with Lace'.  Now I have to admit when I first saw this theme I ran and hid!  I love vintage cards but I really struggle to make them!  But then isn't that the whole point of a challenge - to challenge ourselves!  We have a fab sponsor for you as always and this week its ...

So I took a deep breath and jumped on in and this is what I came out with and I have to say I am rather pleased with how it turned out.  I have used the dress form stamp from SteamPunk Dreams from Creative Expressions and I heat embossed it with Antique Gold powder, along with the butterfly and sentiment which are also from the same collection, the papers are MME 'Wild Asparagus and I've distressed all the edges and layered at different angles then I finished off with some beaded lace and a build a brad which has a piece of the paper in it and again is in an antique gold colour.  So yes different for me and  a challenge for me but I really enjoyed making this and have just managed to stop Ria from taking possession of it and it disappearing into her room! But at least the fact she wants to is a good sign! lol

Lets get cooking with a recipe from Crafty Sentiments

Good morning, well it's Tuesday so that means it's time for a brand new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week the theme has been chosen by Celine and she gave us all a fab recipe to follow -  1 image, 2 papers and 3 different embellishments.  The DT are looking forward to seeing what you all cook up for us this week and there is a fabulous stamp for the prize too!

So here is what I cooked up using the adorable 'Sweet Butterfly' which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs  I coloured her using copics, papers are First Editions 'Family Ties', the floral strip is embossed and glittered then I added a flower charm, some gems and a die cut butterfly.

Another calendar page

I am slowly getting my calendar pages completed but they might not all get shown in order as some are DT projects but the one for April is a just because I had some time page! lol they don't come around too often these days since going back up to full time hours at work!  Anyway back to the page, well with Easter being in April that had to be the start of my inspiration and I just had to use this cutie from Crafty Sentiments Designs called 'Chicken Run'  I coloured her with Spectrums added some sakura glitter pen on her skirt and strawberry, paper is Raspberry Road Designs 'Baked Goods' and the cs is all from my scraps tubs and I finished off with some little metal flowers.  So there you have it another month completed, I might even get time today to do another! (If I'm lucky)

Crafty Catz #215 - Monochrome

Good morning all, well I'm sorry I'm running late this morning but have been having a blogger issue and it would seem I have some conflict between blogger and Norton but anyway I'm here now so let me tell you about the new challenge this week over at Crafty Catz, this week the wonderful Naomi chose the theme of Monochrome, this used to fill me with fear now I really like it! lol.  We have a great sponsor too.

I used the fabulous image Working the Land.  Now I chose green because a little while ago I was running out ink (I didn't know it at the time) and I went to print this image and it came out green and I thought at the time how effective it looked so when Naomi set us the theme of monochrome I just knew what colour I was going to use!  I started with a green cs base, then a scrap ofvery old green mottled paper from my scraps drawer (I think it's HOTP) then I used more of the green cs to make a mat that I half embossed then added the image, sentiment and some green brads.  Cut some swirls using the green cs and added some green flowers and tiny roses.

New Release Preview Day 3

Woohoooo it's New Release time again at Crafty Sentiments Designs and today is the last day of previews over at the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog, we shall be showing you some stunning projects from the  DT using the brand new stamps which will be in store from the 22nd January, gosh that's tomorrow!

For my project I used the adorable 'Patches Puppy' coloured with spectrums and mounted onto red mirriboard, I added liquid pearls for the packaging stuff.  Tag was cut from red mirriboard and the stars and sentiment are silver peeloffs and its held in place with a silver star brad, finished off with some shiny red brads and more mirriboard round the circle aperture for hanging over the door handle and hey presto a door hanger treat box!

Wonderful, wouldn't you agree and the DT got to play with some fantastic images so be sure to pop by and leave the some love. For my card I used 'Fae 33' I coloured here with my spectrums, I stamped round the edges of the image with a cog stamp and heat embossed them then inked all round the edge again, underneath the image is a mat of 'angel hair' I'd forgotten about this stuff but have to admit it was worth getting the iron out for.  I have 3 different colours of this but only used 2 this time round as I wanted to keep it pale and ice like in the background and my other colour is a black base! the paper for the background is from Dovecraft and I finished off with a blue ribbon and silver clock charm.  This is another card that Ria has claimed! lol

Let's see your ribbons

Hi, this week at Divas By Design we'd love to see all your glorious ribbons, so a nice easy challenge this week and we are sponsored by ...

So I decided to challenge myself and make a ribbon cupcake (especially for my mum), there are lots of great tutorials around blogland so after reading lots of different ones I was all set and using cream coloured ribbon for my main frosting and then decorating with small ribbon bows and glittered flowers from PM capsule collection.  (I think next time I'd use a slightly narrower ribbon for the size of my polstyrene ball)  The cake case and stand are made from pieces of DCWV Natural Stack and then I decorated the stand with more of the flowers and some liquid pearls.  Really pleased with how this turned out and will probably make some more for special occasions.

A Work In Progress page 1

HI there, well today I decided I wanted to make something a little different, I had bought a pack of calendar tabs in preparation for making some easel calendars but circumstances did not allow me the time and then I remembered spotting a wonderful calendar while I was going round blogland but unfortunately I cannot remember where I saw it, so my apologies for not giving the person credit for this calendar but my thanks to them for the inspiration.  Now this is going to be a work in progress as I shall complete each month as my mojo allows and I'll share each page as it is completed, the final calendar will be in the shape of a star.  So here is the first page and it celebrates the Chinese New Year which this year actually starts on 31 January.  Now the year I was born the Chinese New Year actually started on the 30 January which is my actual birthday!  I digress!  I have used the gorgeous stamp 'Oriental' from the Lollipop Dreams collection which is available at Crafty Sentiments Designs, I have coloured her with spectrums and paper pieced her dress and then added yellow glitter pen .  The papers are some very old HOTP and I have finished off with some old gold peeloffs and some red brads.

A little blue

Hi there, well I just thought I'd pop on and share a card I made tonight, it's a card that I think it will only make it as far as Ria's bedroom.  She has a collection of her favourite cards I've made which she claims are staying put!  This is definitely one of those! lol  I have used a fabulous Dilly Beans digi Abby Framed 2 and I have coloured her with a mix of copics and spectrums.  The sentiment is stamped and then I have doodled round the edge to match the frame around Abby (don't usually do that sort of thing but glad I did!)  The blue paper is some dark blue vellum that I've had for a while and the stars are some of that metallic offcut stuff you can buy, I got some silver (used here) and gold from a 'community scrap store' a few years ago and this is the first time I have actually used some!  Finished off with some gems.  I am really pleased with how this turned out and it reminds me of how in my youth (yes a long time ago) I was known for doing strange things with my hair including turning it blue!  Mmmm might just be time for a quick trip to Superdrug! lol.

For my project I decided to make a tag and I used 'Emma & the Cake' coloured with my copics then fussy cut and mounted on to a chipboard tag cut from a Big Shot die and covered with a scrap of pink gingham paper (probably Bearly Mine Designs) Sentiment is a stamp and I added some soft pink ribbon and pink gems from my stash.  I don't often do a lot of pink but I'm happy with how this turned out.
