Gold + 1 other colour at Crafty Sentiments

Well can you believe 2014 is almost over and we will soon be starting 2015!  Today sees a brand new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week we'd love to see your creations using Gold + 1 other colour.  The prize this week is

So for my card I have used the wonderful stamp 'Cheers' perfect way to bring in the New Year but also perfect for any celebration. I decided to use the gold for her dress and thought it would look good in glitter!  Love how the dress turned out, I think my clothes were almost as glittery!lol Once I had matted the image onto the black cs then the gold mirricard and then the black cs background I was a bit lost for what to do next and after some playing around with die cuts etc I settled on the Ivy but needed to lift it from just being black so I sponged the Ivy with versamark and then added some antique gold embossing powder, really pleased with how they turned out and really pleased when it all came together.

Having Fun

Good morning all, are you enjoying the festive treats over at Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspiration Blog? Everyone has been so busy making such fabulous and fun items. Today I have a table or window sill decoration that I based on a double twisted easel design. It was my first attempt at one and I love how it turned out. The base is covered with paper from Bearly Mine Designs and I fronted it with a grass die cut from XCut. The Ho, Ho, Ho sentiment is cut on the Cricut. The background to the boys is Kraft cs embossed and then rubbed over with a white ink pad to give an impression of tress behind them. The cute images I have used are 'Snow Ball' and 'Having Fun' they are coloured with Spectrum pens & pencils with copious amounts of glamour dust added. I just thought that these 2 images together made such a fab little scene that looks like they are having a fab snowball fight, I can almost hear them giggling, can't you?

A sad time at Divas

Good morning, today it's time for a new challenge over at Divas by Design and sadly it will be the last one, our fabulous 'boss lady' Rebekah has made the extremely hard decision to close Divas and we are all extremely sad and sorry to see the challenge go.  So as a final farewell Teams A & B have joined together for one last BIG FAREWELL and it's a theme you'll all love it's 'ANYTHING GOES' and there is a surprise gift for the winner and you have until the 14 January to enter, so I hope you will find the time to join the Divas for one last time.
For my project I've made a calendar using the fabulous Stella from Bugaboo Digi Stamps, the sentiment is also by Bugaboo but is with a different Stella image but this sentiment & this image fitted the recipient better!  I used a back to basics book cover and a Red Cross freebie coaster and covered both with embossed Kraft cs, added some foiled DCWV foiled papers, ivy leaves are a JS die and the flowers, ribbon and brad are from my stash.  I paper pieced the cup and coloured Stella using Spectrum pens & pencils.

Winter at Crafty Sentiments

Good morning it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and the theme for this week is 'Winter' so nice and easy for you, I hope you'll be able to fit a little craft time in and join us.  The prize this week is

For my card I have used 'Snowman Song' the cloud paper is by Raspberry Road Designs, then I have used an xcut tree die on some white cs and embossed the lower part of it.  I cut the snowman and little robin separately as I wanted to raise them up on foam pads, glamour dust added to the fluffy bits on their hats and finished off with some ribbon from my stash.  Thought this would be an ideal card for a child.

Fabulous Darling!

Treated myself to a couple of images from The East Wind and just had to make a card with one of them straight away so I have used 'Lucy Loo Close Up' and I wanted to be a bit different with her hair.  I've also been trying to follow Unky's instructions on her You Tube channel for colouring hair.  I must admit this is the second attempt as the first really did fail on all counts! This second attempt is much better, lol!  I used copics and spectrum pencils to colour and added some stardust clear to her earring and then some little red gems.  The gorgeous paper is First Edition Neroli pad and each of those little petals on the flowers has a tiny gem on it so the paper really sparkles but I could not get a decent picture!, the fabulous is cut on the Cricut and that is it.  I have kept this nice and simple as the paper and the image are just so beautiful I didn't feel anything else was required.

A country birthday

Now this card didn't intentionally set out to have a country theme to it, it just kinda happened along the way! I started off with the image which is 'Lets Play Music' from Crafty Sentiments Designs, once I'd given her a red & white check shirt I picked the gingham paper which came from Bearly Mine Designs, then I needed something for her to sit on and I remembered this stamp of the tree stump from Charmed Cards & Crafts and hey presto she has a seat.  Colouring was done with copics, spectrums and pencils. A tree embossed panel behind her and all mounted on the gingham paper and finished off with some flowers from my stash.

and

The Crafty Catz will be back in the New Year but unfortunately we will be minus Ingrid as she has had to step down and she will be greatly missed, but the rest of us will be there!  Right on to my make and as I said at the beginning my cards are made so I decided to make a gift card match book as its always very handy for any unexpected gift! lol  I used a fabulous image from Kenny K and some gorgeous papers that I just had to get in the Bearly Mine Designs sale.  I chose colours from the paper to colour the image and love how she turned out in the bright colours. I added glamour dust to her hat and the snow on the little tree was done with white gel pen.  The tag was stamped and edged in pink ink and then clear heat embossed and finished off with a pink gem.  The inside is some of the same design paper but in a different colour way.

Something a little risque (but only slightly)

I wanted to make a birthday for my other half and he is definitely not one for lots of flowers, and hearts and bling so I settled with a wonderful Kenny K image and a clean and simple card.  I used red cs blank and a piece of another one which I embossed with a hearts tri-boss folder and I matted that onto some white cs.  The image is coloured with copics, spectrum pens and pencils, the colouring did take me quite a while but I am pleased with the end coloured result. (I can certainly see some improvements) added some red gems and finished off with a sentiment that I got as a freebie quite some time ago from Sentiments Sunday.  Adrian liked the card but was a little disappointed he couldn't untie the ribbon!

Good morning it's time for a brand new challenge over at Divas by Design and this week we are all 'Feeling Festive' so lets see your festive goodies, there is a 'Crafty Bag' up for grabs for the winner too.

For my card I have used this gorgeous image from Delicious Doodles but I decided not to add any colour, instead I have distressed the edges and added some glamour dust, the 2 small panels have been embossed with swiss dots and the main background embossed with snowflakes, I finished off with a white ribbon bow and silver Joy charm.

I also took a close up with the flash to try and show the sparkle

Anything Goes over at Crafty Sentiments

Good morning, wow is everyone cracking on with their Christmas preparations, can you believe we are now in December?  So this week we are keeping it nice and easy over at Crafty Sentiments as it's 'Anything Goes' and the prize is

So I thought I'd take a break from Christmas cards and made a little easel calendar instead ready for the new year.  I have used 'Annabel Sail with Me' and kept to very traditional and nautical colours using copics and spectrums, I won the digi papers some time ago and I can't remember who they are by but I thought they fitted my theme perfectly.  I have overstamped the papers and around the image using various stamps from Papermania collections which reflected travel.  The very old tag is actually from an item of clothing from M&S and I added the passport and first class stamps and then covered up the M&S logo with the flower and I echoed the flower on the base of the calendar too.  These flowers have been in my stash for years waiting for the right project!
