been colouring

Ok so I have been colouring but not all day like I thought I might!  My MIL came to visit so that took a big chunk! lol but I have managed to get one card completed and might try and squeeze another in before the night is out, then tomorrow Ria and I are off to spend a wek with my mum & dad, so really looking forward to that just hope the weather picks up as it's rained quite a bit here today.

Anyway no 'leccy' meant no printer so now digi papers and I rummaged through my box of ready printed images (made up of free images from magazines, goody bags, images printed then never got round to using etc etc!)  and I found some cute Heather Ellis Pure Innocence images, coloured up with copics and the papers are First Edition Family Ties and cs, some dry embossing, yellow bakers twine, pearly ribbon slider and little flower from my stash.  All light and flowery after my dark steampunk card of earlier!

Steampunk

Back again!  this time I wanted to share with you a quick card I made using the fabulous 'Col Macallan' from KennyK.  I love this image and when I was planning my card I wanted to stamp some cogs in the corner but my stamp wasn't quite right then I thought why not make a border of the cogs so used a bigger stamp and hey presto my card was born!  I love how this turned out.

Everyones Favourite

Yes this week over at Divas By Design it's an Anything Goes challenge and we have a fabulous sponsor too, it's

and the DT got to play with some fabulous Dilly Beans images.  I have used 430 Skull bow framed and I really wanted to try something new for me.  I've seen lots of images on candles and think they are such a great idea but never really knew how to go about it so I followed a tutorial by Caz which you can find here and I was surprised how easy this turned out to be, I'd been put off thinking it was really difficult.  I coloured the image with copics, followed the tutorial and hey presto one decorated candle which now is sitting in Ria's room (surprise surprise! lol)  will definitely be doing more of these.  Hope you can come an join in with our challenge.

Working the land

Hi there I have another card to share with you today, I put this together this afternoon and its using an image I have been waiting for the right time to use and as my BIL works on a farm I thought this was very fitting. The image is 'Working the Land' and is an I won from Delicious Doodles (so many awesome images!)  I had wanted to use this last week for the challenge over at Delicious Doodles Challenges which was scenic but I just ran completely out of time so when I saw that the new challenge this week is 'Black on Black' I thought I'd give it a go!  Actually I found it harder than WOW cards especially when it came to getting a good pic but I did it and I like the result.  I embossed a panel of card and the mount for the image has photo corners punched, added a peel off to a little tag, some buttons and gingham ribbon, hope you like it.

So now onto our sponsors, yes sponsors we have 2 this week and they are:-

and

Fabulous!  So onto my card, the DT were very lucky and got some Paper Shelter images to play with  (I love these images!)  I used 'The Adorable Miss Hall' coloured with copics and this time I used and offcut of cream card to print her on, wasn't sure how well it would work and if the copics would bleed too much but it worked (thankfully! lol) The papers are Bearly Mine Designs, love this bunting ribbon and it was the inspiration for my colours.  Sentiment was cut on the Cricut then added a punched swirl, flowers from stash and some gems.  So now it's over to you, have fun and we are looking forward to coming to visit.

Nice prizes wouldn't you agree!  So on with my project, I have made a luminaire (my first one!) and I must say I'm pleased with how it has turned out and already I know I need to make more!  I made this one by using a tag shape on the Cricut using George Basic shapes in silhouette mode  which I welded on the Gypsy and then cut, added some vellum again cut using the Cricut and then embossed for some texture, glued the vellum in to place then scored and folded the gold glitter card and finished off by attaching the cute lantern fairy, coloured with copics, added liquid pearls to her wings and 3d glaze over her lantern and a sentiment stamped on a vintage label die, available at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  Popped it over a battery operated tea light and hey presto!

and here is one with the lights out and the candle on

Very Very Late

Oh my I am so sorry, I meant to shedule this post last night when I got in from work but I was so tired (gone 10 by time I got home) and then I was up for the early today (started work at 7.30) and didn't get home til gone 5 (should have been 3!) and I was so hot and sleepy that I have only just got round to switching the pc on and realised what I had done or rather what I had not done!  So I will get on with it!

Tomorrow sees the previews of the new Crafty Sentiments Designs stamps and they are the Christmas ones and they really are fab, so yesterday and today the DT have been providing you with some extra early sneak peeks over on the Inspirational Blog.

So today I am sharing a christmas card made using the wonderful image 'My Presents' I love the cat playing with the ribbon!  I made an easel card using papers from MME (I think) a little ribbon and the poinsettias are dies but not sure where from.  The background paper is actually glittered as well but it doesn't show in the pictures.  So I hope I have whetted your appetite for more as the previews begin in earnest tomorrow over at the Inspirational Blog and you really won't want to miss a single piece of inspiration as the awesome DT ladies have been very hard at work for you.

It's Childs Play over at Crafty Catz

Good morning, well it is Friday which means it's time for another fun challenge over at Crafty Catz and the theme this week has been chosen by the wonderful Aunty Sue and she has chosen 'It's Child's Play' so anything for a child or with a child on it - what fun, and we have a great sponsor for you again this week and it's ...

and the DT got to play with some pretty awesome images, but before I show you my card how would you like to have a GDT spot with us Crafty Catz?  We are looking for someone to come and join us in August so if you fancy it, add GDT after your name when joining in with our challenge and we'll pop round to see you!

Ok so on with my card, I have used the adorable Karate Kid and I have mounted him digitally on to some digi papers from Raspberry Road Designs and also used some elements from the kit, added the sentiment 'congratulations' as this is for my friends son who does tae kwando and for that reason when I was colouring this little lad in I left the belt blank and thought I would colour it when he receives his next level to match his belt.  Now be sure to check out what the rest of my awesome teamies have been up to, and I hope you have fun and join in the challenge.

Fishing isn't easy!

This is a card I made at the weekend for Adrian's fishing buddy but I didn't get chance to post it up over the weekend due to work commitments, hence 3 posts in one day today! lol.  Kept this nice and simple.  Image is from TGF coloured with copics, have used 3 lots of coredinations cs which tie in with the colours of the image, 2 different fiskars embossing plates have been used for texture and a sentiment stamp from the Daisy & Dandelion range from PM.  Sentiment reads 'Fishing... if it was easy it would be called catching'

Here kitty, kitty!

This is a card I made for the wife of Adrian's fishing buddy who likes cats, now I don't have a lot of cat stuff so had to think hard about this one then remembered the ones from the Daisy & Dandelion range and hey presto this card was born.  Decided I wanted to make a different shaped card and turned to my trusty Cricut and after some duplicating and welding on the Gypsy my card shape was determined, also used the Cricut to cut the dp, mat and cat.  DP is First Edition Daydream and it is glittered and the cat has been coloured using spectrums, embellished the card with some flowers and ribbon and a pc generated sentiment with a couple of little rhinestones.  Pleased with how this turned out
