A missed challenge

Well this card was originally made for the SCSC challenge last week that was a recipe but I just didint quite get it finished in time last night but thought I'd still show you it! Can you tell I'm lovin' my new Sugar Nellie stamps, this time I've used Flowers coloured in with wc pencils and sakura glaze and stardust pens. The papers are part of a digi collaboration kit and these come from the part designed by Mel - I love the richness and vibrancy of the whole kit which is called 'Grosgrain Girl', check out Mels blog to see more of her lovely designs. The flowers, brad and little clip are all from my stash. TFL

Crafty Muse Something Sweet guest designer spot

I was thrilled when Sammi asked if I'd be interested in a guest designer spot over at Crafty Muse and I could not resist! The challenge for this fortnight is ... something sweet this is a candy coloured or chocolate theme (pastels or browns)It could be that you are sweet to a friend or a loved one or a boyfriend ... It could even be a Valentines gift/ card if you so desire! So I used the new Once Upon A Time downloads and made this Sweet box for Ria. The box had originally contained 'Miffy' socks and was just shouting to be played with so I used some Pm double sided card (sorry cant remember what it is called) and some Pm embossed card. What image could I use other than the gorgeous dragon for my girl who adores dragons! The ornate corners are cut using a die from Xcut and the font is cut using Marissa dies from Quickcutz. TFL and dont forget to check out the wonderful examples from the DT they really are beautiful. And theres more! .. All those who enter the challenge this fortnight will receive 'something sweet' so how culd you resist.

Friday Sketchers #36

Well I only just made it with this weeks challenge over at Friday Sketchers I have used another of my new sugar Nellie stamps, Daisy (she is just sooooo cute) and I stamped her onto some cotton canvas and decided to leave her uncoloured. Teh papers are Pm the brads, metal tag and ribbon are from my stash and while looking to see if there was anything else I needed to add I found the tiny stitched purple flower that I took off a card to recycle and discovered that it fitted over her daisy perfectly and after not really knowing if I was right or not to colour her in I am glad I didnt! Crafy Muse sketch it challenge

Think I may have only just scraped in with this one this week! Over at Crafty Muse Sarah gave us a sketch to work with and it was a great sketch. I used Sammis new download collection Once Upon a Time. The card is cordinations put thru BS with d'vine swirl embossing folder, the main card is also embossed with the Happy Birthday folder, the castle button was in a pack I bought ages ago with Ria in mind as it had a dragon in it! See I knew the other buttons would come in handy one day too!lol the little silver heart clip has been in my stash forever then I used silver peeloff along the edge. TFL and now it is time to go to bed more to do in the kitchen tomorrow! Goodnight.

MTTC #46 A little bit of sunshine

Lovely challenge over at MTTC - 'A Little Bit Of Sunshine'! Goodness knows we could all do with some at the moment. How true this is. Well my Sugar Nellie stamps arrived this morning and I waited til this evening to play with them and I love 'em already! Have seen loads of cards made using these stamps and finally I could resist no longer! lol So for this challenge I used 'Summer Ice Cream' as what says sunshine like ice cream does! the papers are from a digi kit called painted quilt by Stolen Moments this lady produces some beautiful digi kits I havent known about her for long but long enough for her to have her own file on my pc with several kits in it already! I love the colours in this one. Ribbon, gems and flowers from my stash (not so sure about the flowers now I've stuck 'em on! typical huh?) finished off with a peeloff sentiment that means the card can be used for any occassion or just because. TFL Hope to be back shortly with another card if I can!

I want to play

The postie has just delivered some sweet Sugar Nellie stamps that I ordered and I want to play with them NOW but my kitchen is upside down! Oh it is so not fair! lol looks like I'll just have to wait til tonight now! Boo Hoo. Catch you all later.

Still nothing to show!

but I have completed my little project for Crafty Muse! and I have managed to clear my shed, sweep it down and out (yes down! there are no longer any spider webs out there well not when I shut the door this evening but no doubt there will be by tomorrow morning!lol) Adrian popped home at lunch time and to my surprise offered to get the shelving down from the attic then rather than me having to wait til this evening - bonus! lol so the shelving is up and a few things have made it back into the shed but tomorrow I start on the kitchen, uummm great sorting cupboards! what a great way to spend my leave! lol Still I will feel really good about it when its all done. shocked the bin men today when they came round as this week is recycling so instead of just the box and 1 possible 2 green bags we had the box for tins and glass, 2 green bags of card/paper and then 3 large cardboard boxes filled with cardboard - now that was therapeutic filling those boxes with old boxes that I gleefully ripped apart I must have looked quite a sight there in the garden yesterday. lol In addition to the recycling I think I ended up with about 7 or 9 black bags full of rubbish too I couldnt believe how much rubbish we had been hording though my mum would tell you she isnt the slightest bit surprised hey mum?! anyway its now time for bed and hopefully tomorrow evening I will do some crafting that I will be able to show you! Goodnight and thanks for stopping by. x

Nothing to show

No nothing to show but I have been busy working away here in my craft room tonight trying to finish off my project for my GD spot over at Crafty Muse but you'll just have to wait to see it! lol I spent part of the day starting to sort thru all the rubbish and such like that has accumulated in our little shed (we actually have 3! and they are all full! lol) I aim to get it cleared and some shelves put in so that I can use it as an overflow to my small kitchen and as a result declutter the kitchen and make it more workable - what a way to spend my week off! Just hope it doesnt rain too much this week but after putting a days graft in doing that I intend to spend my evenings crafting and catching up with some challenges and maybe even doing some scrapping. Well I'd best get back to it, catch up with you all again tomorrow I hope.

Ugh No internet and a late entry for Dotties World Challenge

For almost 2 days I have been trying to sort out my connection to the internet, my pc just wouldnt recognise the wireless router or anything and I just couldnt work out why (I still dont know) I have a USB wireless connector but do you think I could find it! NO! have been hunting high and low and have now managed to locate so just before trying to connect it that way I thought I'd just try one more restart and see! and hey presto it connected! still at least if it goes off again I have the USB one! lol Anyway all this fooling around meant I didnt get to post my creation for last weeks challenge over at Dotties World which went ... Everywhere I look these days I find fantastic tutorials which suggests that everyone must love them. For this crafty challenge I want you to make something (it doesn't have to be a card) following a Charmed Cards and Crafts tutorial or class and include a Charmed download. There are absolutely loads to choose from so pop over for a peek, you won't be disappointed. When you put your creation on your blog please link up to your chosen tutorial and then we can all have a look.
The Online classes are here It was a fantastic challenge and one that pushed me to have a go at something I've only looked at before but wanted to do so I did a Jacobs Ladder! Lousies tutorial made it so easy to follow, I loved making it but this time I only used a thick card I think it will work better with mountboard due to the weight of the mountboard but it does work and I am pleased with the end result and decided that it would be a great way to use a few of the new front2back images which are just adorable and fun. So here it is and sorry its late. Oh and the papers are Shabby Princess Vintage Florals. meant to say aswell that when the ladder is flipping you see the fronts and then the backs in the right order even though it looks odd in the pics iykwim! lol TFL

MTTC #44 Mice & Easy

Actually it wasn't Mice & Easy for me this week with the challenge over at MTTC as I couldnt find a mouse of any sort, I've been racking my brain (not much to rack!!) and searching high & low and then finally tonight I found one! My one & only mouse image! its from Joanna Sheens Victorian Birthday CD and I've added some grey coredinations cs put thru CB embosing folder. the eyelets, rag brad, ribbon and cord are all from my stash. TFL.

Sorry I haven't been round to waffle all that much recently but other things seem to get in the way and I'm just about managing to produce a few cards to keep up with challenges but hopefully I'll soon get on top of it all and then I'll have more ME time instead of being up til really late crafting. Right I'm off to bed, thankfully I've got a late shift tomorrow but an early on Wednesday so probably wont be about til Wednesday night so til then, happy crafting and goodnight.

A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge #34 Paper Piecing

This week the challenge over at SFOS is paper piecing which is a great technique (I only discovered it about 6 months ago!) for my card I have used Pm background paper, blue vellum, yellow coredinations cs and yellow mulberry paper. The image is Angelique sitting which is by my good blog friend Sammi over at Crafty Muse, she has designed some wonderful little characters so go check 'em out. The sentiment circle is by the very talented Karen and then I have added gems from the £ shop and some Pm gem butterflies and off course the circles are cut with my nestabilities! TFL and now its time I went to bed, goodnight all. x

Another altered tin

Well Ria really liked my button tin and when she was trying to think of what to get her friend at school for a birthday present we came up with the idea of a tin for her pens as she loves stationery and collects pens so thats what we did. Pm paper, coloured the self adhesive lace paper this time, cut Fenne's Pens on the craftrobo using chick font then embellished with various flowers and brads from stash and a butterfly charm (6 for £1) and self adhesive gems (£1 shop). Hope her friend does like it, now to do some crafting for me! TFL

PTW challenge Dawnys sketch #6

Another fabby sketch by DawnyP over at PTW Now for this sketch I used papers from a freebie digi kit by the very talented Stacey whose blog you can find here and this kit is called Flower Child. My image is Aquarian Dottie and I coloured her on the pc in PSE5 using the colour dropper to get the colours to match the papers then I added glossy accents to her boots and the water and a little bit of glitter to the fluff on her hat and coat. The flowers at the bottom are from Lakeland which I got way back when, peeloff and brads from my stash. TFL.

Well considering I have been at home all day today I dont seem to have managed to acheive much in the way of ME time, everytime I sat down and started to get into something I was called away and this is how it has been all day I just hope it doesnt carry on that way tomorrow! Hope you are all having a great crafty weekend, I just love going round and checking what you've all been up to.

SCSC #14 Anything but a Card

Over at SCSC Claire set the challenge for Anything But A Card and after some thought I decided to alter a tin for my buttons because at the mo my buttons are all crammed in a little drawer and I struggle to find what I want and usually end up not bothering so I thought it was time to remedy that and we drink frothy coffee from Llidls and it comes in tins! so here we are I found a scrap of paper amongst an old wallet of bits and pieces that fitted a treat sorry cant remember what its called etc, the lace effect at the top and bottom is self adhesive paper lace from Lakelands holes and eyelets set with the cropadile, buttons and flowers from my stash and then I used the image of Henry Hare from Animal Magic download from Charmed Cards and I resized him several times and added the text to his banner. I am actually quite pleased with the end result and now need to work my way thru my coffee tins for my other buttons. TFL

Dotties World Challenge - Pure & Simple

Oh look I'm done before the last minute!lol Took me a while to work out what I was going to do for the challenge this week over at Dotties World This week I want your creations to be PURE & SIMPLE! No patterned papers, just clean, fresh and simple. I don't want any fuss on our creations this week. You can include any Charmed download, the choice is yours!- trouble is there are soooooo many totally fabulous designs to work with. Anyway what decided it in the end was the fact it is Ria's friends birthday tomorrow and she loves fairies so what other image could I possible use! I went for the pre-coloured as I adore this colour combo anyway! Used coredinations cs and embossed the purple using a fiskars board in the Big Shot but then turned it over for the debossed side so the design is a little more subtle. Used my nestabilities of course (think I'm addicted! but dont tell the OH or the bank manager!lol), flowers and button from my stash then a peeloff sentiment. TFL. I am now off to bed and looking forward to the next 2 days as I'm off work and its been a hard couple of days workwise! Goodnight all. x

PTW & MTTC 2 in 1

Well time is of the essence so 1 card to meet 2 challenges this time. PTW challenge is spots and MTTC is food and drink. Cupcake card is cut on Robbie, as is the frosting which is mm cosmopoliton. also cosmopoliton for the 2 circles cut with nestibilities, Dottie from Charmed Cards printed onto card before cutting and coloured in PSE5, and finally a little pink sticker sentiment from my stash. Not as pleased with this as I had hoped but quite a sweet little card for a youngster maybe. TFL, wont be back til Tuesday as have a long day tomorrow.

Sketch Saturday #32

Really like the sketch at Sketch Saturday this week and as you can probably tell I'm lovin' my new nestabilities dies!lol Right the background paper is I think from a Joanna Sheen cd adn the check paper is from a daffodil collection that someone gave me a long time ago! the corners are cut using nestabilities which I then cut into 4. the image is a daffodil from the Marie Curie limited edition stamps from Do Crafts which I stamped onto Pm paper and then onto green cs (both cut using nestabilities!lol) then I added 2 little wooden buttons from my stash. Only jsut finished it in time too! TFL and now I'm off to bed. x

Dotties World Challenge - 'ave a laugh #2

Ok so I am back with a 2nd card for this challenge, I just hope all of you out there who are waiting to see this arent disappointed! I have used Golfing George (of course!) the background paper is Lilys Garden by Vicki - A Work In Progress, green coredinations cs and text printed in purple on pc, then used my new nestabilities die (I so NEED more of these now I've tried one!) and green cs and then in centre of that I cut a circle on my xyron personal cutter which I then ran thru the bigshot with my new cuttlebug tiny mosaic embossing folder and used the debossed side as it really reminded me of a golf ball, topped of with George on foam pads. I decided to keep the card clean but am thinking of putting a little mini book together for him with lots of golf quotes and saying and maybe a pic or 2 of him if I can get any. Anyway thanks for looking, I'm off to play some more!

Questions, questions, questions!

Should I stop crafting and playing with my new stash that arrived today and go and prepare tea for the family or shall I carry on playing? I think I'd better get on and feed them at least that way they will be quiet and I can then play for the rest of the evening! See you later. x

Dotties World Challenge - 'ave a laugh

Great challenge set by Karen this week over at Dotties World and it went like this ... I am a demon for incorporating funny elements onto my work, well I think they're funny anyway LOL, and I want to see what you can do to make us all smile. This then is the challenge: "Start the New Year with a Laugh" . I simply want to see "something funny" on your project, what you use and how you make it is up to you. Oh and of course you must use one of the Charmed downloads. At first it sounded easy then it seemed that all my humour left home! then on Monday Louly posted some fantastic one liners, certainly cheered me up on a cold Monday morning I can tell you, so I sat down this evening and put my thinking cap on and while looking thru my downloaded images I saw golfing George - now my dad is a bit of a golfer and his birthday is coming up in May so I put 2 + 2 together and went trawling the internet for a suitable comment found a couple that really made me smile and a couple that were not for the children in the family! so I start thinking of the design and realise I really need some stash that I've got on order so have to put the card on hold so instead of not crafting I thought I'd just have a bit of a play, found some paper (digi) I really liked and thought it would work really well with another download image and well the rest as they say is history! Here is the finished card which I hope someone will find at least a little amusing! Have used Sarah's shopping (I love this image) and then the flowers and paper are from Sweet Blossom Designs and are an add on to Vicki - A Work In Progress - kit called Country Life. A few drop shadows to give it a bit of depth, printed onto photographic paper and its done! TFL. Sometimes feels like doing it digi is cheating - no cutting and glueing all the individual bits but I do enjoy putting them together in PSE5 and its just one of the reasons that I love the downloads! Right be back tomorrow and you never know I might be back with the golf one! x Oh yes I nearly forgot one of the most important things I was supposed to tell you about! Well you know that darling Scruff from the Animal Magic download at Charmed Cards & Crafts (yes I thought you would all know who I meant) well Louly has decided to give him a bath, (pop over to Dotties World and check him out) anyway anyone who enters this weeks challenge will receive Scruff in the Tub as a particpation gift - which is why I just had to complete the challenge!lol

PS sorry that was a long waffle tonight and thank you if you managed to hang on in there and get to the end of it! x

Sketch & Stash Challenge #1

Well over at the new Sketch & Stash Challenge Blog there is a lovely sketch and I had an idea formulating in my head but do you think I could transfer it into reality? Not a chance it didnt matter how many times I moved bits of paper around and tried different techniques what I wanted just wouldnt work! so although my card looks quite simple it took a long time getting to that stage!lol Anyway used more Imaginisce paper for peeps sake collection. I have had the papers for year now and just holding on to them as they are so beautiful but this week I have now made 3 cards using them (not too much left now might just have to order some more!) The new stash is the stamp which is a Pm one that I got just last week but this is the first time I've used it. Now while doing some stash shopping I did happen to notice that this stamp adn the thank you stamp that accompanies it, are VERY similar to the little stamps that are part of the for peeps sake collection - how wierd is that! didnt know that when I bought them! Anyway I digress! the flowers are from the latest addition of Creativity mag the ribbon is Anitas adhesive and finished off wiht a little gold peeloff. Think I like it even though it wasnt what I planned! TFL Well that was fun cant upload the image yet so will have to try again later tells me there is an internal error?! will be back either later or tomorrow - sorry

Well its here now what a palava! and I'm going to bed! night all

Crafty Muse challenge #5 Something New

Well having made my card for a baby girl for the PTW challenge I decided I'd make one for a baby boy as I am waiting to hear what my friends has had! so having decided what to make I realised it would fit in with Sammis challenge over at Crafty Muse for something new. The card used the Little Dot boy image from Charmed downloads, the papers and Joy rub-on are Imaginisce - for peeps sake and the flower, snaps and little clip are from my stash from way back and the little hearts are actually from a broken earring that someone was going to throw away! lol I knoew it would be useful one day! TFL

No crafting today:(

to busy having to do paperwork for work today but at last its finished! Just thought I'd show you the latest of the dragon pictures. They really do seem to have settled in well and now both have names. The one we think and hope is female has been called Indie after Indianna Jones as she is very inquisitive and brave and the one we think and hope is a male is called Wally mainly because everytime we look in the vivarium we say Where is he so now its Wheres Wally?! lol (plus he can be a bit of a wally from time to time too!) Anyway this afternoon Ria is busy trying to finish some history homework and decides it would be nice to have Wally out too and this is the result! He did try to eat the little flashing lights at the bottom of the keyboard too! He seemed to enjoy his outing and was soon lying comfortably over the touchpad! End of homework! lol Right I'm off to bed now and up for an Early tomorrow so hopefully crafting tomorrow evening. Night all.x

PTW Dawnys Sketch #5

DawnyP has done another fabby sketch over at PTW and I have only just managed to get a card done for the challenge! (thats about right for me! lol) I have used imaginisce papers from the For Peeps Sake collection - very scrummy, they were a gift so I only have limitied amount and try and save it for specials! Ribbon, flowers, photo anchor are Pm/Anitas and the charm and gems are from the cheapy shop! The image is of course Little Dot from Charmed downloads. TFL

SCSC #13

This has to be a first for me getting a card made so soon after the challenge went up - well soon for me!lol I really liked this sketch over at SCSC this week, my card uses papers from my stash that have been there for a very long time! the pocket is a thin cut die, flower is Pm and an old brad from my stash, little self adhesive stones and the image is a Charmed download - girls about town, the pocket has 2 sentiments that come as part of the download - chocolate, coffee and men - some things are better rich and Man does not live by coffee alone. Have a danish. TFL and now I am off to bed as didnt realise how late it had got!lol

Ria made a couple of Calendars

After seeing the lovely calendars made by Ruth a while back (she has great stuff on her blog go check it out) Ria said she would like to make a couple, so this is what she came up with they are for friends I work with and I have to say they were both thrilled to bits with them. They are of course Charmed downloads, the papers a Pm and the other bits are from my stash. Ria was very pleased with how they turned out and thrilled that they were gratefully received. TFL

Dotties World Challenge - Wishing You Well

A great challenge over at Dotties World and yet again I have managed to leave it to the last minute to get my card done! Anyway the challenge this week was Louises turn to set the challenge and this is how it went ... After all the over indulgence you've most likely had over Christmas ( a few poorly tummies and heads I guess?) The theme this week is Get Well Soon .You don't have to use those words, but it has to be aimed at cheering someone up or wishing them well . If you don't know anyone who's poorly your creation could be wishing them well in their new job or a new home...basically, lots of positive vibes in this card please AND of course a Charmed Download. Nice and easy? the DT produced some gorgeous examples and all the other cards that I have seen on my travels have been fantastic too, so here is mine. I used a precoloured Scruff and used the font Bones to add the sentiment, this was then printed on some canvas (bought it in a roll ages ago for £1) then I have used a selection of papers from mm cosmopolitan collection and some Pm flowers and gems from the £1 shop. TFL and make sure you check out their challenge tomorrow there is a new freebie for taking part and its just adorable!

SCSC & crafty muse in one card

Right I hope you all had a great time last night and have now recovered! I have just managed to squeeze 1 card in today but it does meet 2 challenges. Over at SCSC the challenge is paper piecing and Sammi over at Crafty Muse challenged us to make a card or project for a male. I have used the Rocker George download and paper pieced his top and trousers using papers from a digi kit by Sweet Blossom Designs called Love Me Forever, the background paper is also from this kit. I then added gold peeloff sentiment. Well thats all I have time for tonight and I'm working tomorrow on a 9 - 4.30 (peprwork day) then I have 3 whole days off yippeeeeee! so til then goodnight and thanks for stopping by.
