Dotties World Challenge #3 (my attempt!)

Firstly can I say a big thanks to everyone who has stopped by and left comments especially on Rias creations she is so thrilled when someone comments and floats around for a while after!

Well I have managed to complete the 3rd challenge( see post below for details) from Dotties World just before the 4th one comes up 2moro! Had so many ideas but they just wouldnt come together until this one. I have used PM background paper which I've had forever and I have dry embossed with cuttlebug folder, rikrak (which I hope is ok for ribbon?) Disco Diva Dottie coloured in with sakura stardust and glaze pens, the inspiratin for the dress is from the different colours of threads thru the rikrak, some shiny holographic card to mount her on and a large brad which I doodled some music notes onto. TFL. Been a busy couple of days but dont seem to have acheived much especially in the crafting way :( but have started sorting thru the masses of craft mags I've got which take up so much space so going thru and pulling out the articles of particular interest which is very time consuming but is giving me ideas so I s'pose its worth it! Off to work this afternoon and 2mor morning so again not much crafting time but I'll try and make the most of it! Bye for now and thanks for looking.

Another card by Ria

Well Ria is being highly productive today! She has sat very patiently and cut out this panda and decoupaged them onto some backing paper from JS Oriental Dreams cd. TFL I meanwhile have been making some invites for a friends reception and now I'm working on a lo for a cj so a successful day really and the night is still young!

Dotties World Challenge #3

Hi all,

well I've had a very busy couple of days with work and no time for crafting but my DD Ria has! she decided to have a go at challenge #3 on Dottie's World Well, it's that time again and this week I've come up with a nice easy one for you, a recipe!Here are the ingedients;1 or more Charmed Downloads1 bradRibbon Hand doodling/writingDry embossing or crimping (CB embossing folders etc..)Mix them all together and see what happens! Warning....Do NOT put it in the oven! LOL She missed out the dry embossing but got everything else, hope you like it.

We are trying to have a crafting day today so there might be more stuff uploaded later.

Golfing George for Dad

Only time for a quick hello and card as I'm on the night shift tonight so I'm off to bed now for a few hours. This is a card I made this morning for my dads birthday at the end of the month. Golfing George (of course!) and the papers are Cherry Arte which were free with SI magazine. Used the 5 in 1 punch for the edged rectangle and then inked a BS embossing plate before running through the machine with the card. Sentiment is coloured peeloffs. TFL. Looking forward to 2moro and the new challenge on Dotties World but wont actually get to see it til I get up in the afternoon. Bye for now. x

Digi lo

Here is a digi lo I've done for a challenge on the Raspberry Road Designs Forum which was to create a heritage lo using 75 percent Raspberry Road Designs. Now I know mine isnt all faded papers and lace but apparently heritage is now anything pre 1975 and this pic was taken in 1970 so I felt it needed to be bright and yes that is a pic of me! Chose to put my name instead of just putting 'me' so that in years to come people wont say well who was that then?! Credits are Raspberry Road Designs Red Wagon freebie kit for papers and elements apart from notepaper which is from JZ Designs freebie kit Dear Diary and the font is Lucidia handwriting. TFL. Now to try and finish the cj pages.

Dotties World Challenge #2

Ok done it have put my card together for the 2nd challenge over on Dotties World (see post below Sun 18 for details) There have been some amazing cards made already so pop over and have a look. Anyway for mine I played around with the images in PSE5 resizing, erasing and colouring then I printed it all off 5 times then cut out and decoupaged it after adding various highlites using sakura glaze and stardust pens. The background papers are Raspberry Road Designs freebie kit Annies Cottage. This card was inpired by one of my all time favourite Dottie cards which was made by Adele this lady is soooo talented.

Well after a couple of busy days I am planning a bit of a crafty day as I had to get this challenge completed and I have a digi lo challenge to complete and a cj entry to finish which is already late being posted so I had best go and get on with it. Thanks for stopping by. x

Well another couple of busy days. Yesterday was work and then back and forwards to hosp and school with Ria for routine check ups then school pick up then we decided it was a good day to take a trip to ASDA as we needed food, by the time that was all done packed away and we had tea it was close to 11pm! Today doesnt promise to be much quieter, school run first thing now I'm off to do a 2nd job before going to my normal job this afternoon, by the time I finish there and get home (10pm approx) I shall be glad to fall into bed. BUT..... I have managed to print the bits for my Dotties World challenge so as I've got a day off 2moro I hope to de able to put it all together and do a digi lo challenge too! fingers crossed. Gardening George

Today has been blissful in as much as I didn't have to go to work! The past 3 shifts at work have been shall we say 'hard' I so needed today off! and I started the day with a card. Used George at Work, PM papers and some very old brads! also used the new 5 in 1 punch. Then actually got on with some hw and ironing so feeling quite virtuous today - it'll never last! Still back to the grindstone called work 2moro but luckily only for a few hours. (7.30 - 10 am) so hopefully get some crafting done after that. well thats me for tonight. Thanks for dropping by. Here we are its Sunday and time for challenge 2 from Dotties World which goes like this 'DOUBLE UP'The Challenge is to make a card or item incorperating two images from the downloads,it could be two Dotties,Dottie'n' George,Cats, there are soo many different combinations to choose from. Sounds great and there are some fab examples over there too, to inspire us. As for me I've got to go to work this afternoon so not a lot of time to play today it will have to wait til 2moro. Thanks for the positive feedback on my cat card, really appreciate it and the more I look at it the more I do actually like it! Well time to go boring things to do like ironing etc! TTFN.

Ok its done but I'm not very sure about it. I really enjoyed making it but dont know if I like what I've done iykwim. Anyway the credits are; Charmed Cards for the amazing cats download designed by Louly, the pp are from a digi kit freebie called Colour Your World by Raspberry Road Designs and I cut the black background using my trusty craftrobo. Morning all,
well I'm sat here playing around at the pc when I probably should be doing some hw before getting ready for work but I'm sure you all know how it is! anyway I'm waiting for some papers to print so that I can have a play so thought I'd pop on here, I'm going to try something a bit different for me so it may end up here or it may go straight to the bin only time will tell and hopefully I might even get it finished before I go to work - now that would be a bonus!. Back later ... maybe?!

Another day and another card. Dont tell DOH but I just had to go and buy those fabulous cats! and then made a card tonight. Have used BG Mortifica paper and the border is cut from some artist paper using one of the new multishaper 5 in 1 punches by design objectives for docrafts (got that today too!)

Oh well back to work tomorrow for a late shift! :(

Evening all

Feeling a bit better today so got down to making some commisioned cards and really enjoyed the peace and quiet and felt nicely relaxed, then it was time to prepare tea! Hopefully tomorrow after I deliver the cards I shall be popping of too charmed cards and purchase those lovely new cats! Shan't want to go back to work on Friday at this rate! Anyway hope you like the cards, the tag one is made using PM papers 'for him' range and brads, and the 2 silhoutte ones are from the Joanna Sheen 'dancing with shadows' cd and finally a Dottie in the bath card coloured with sakura pens paint like the twinkling h2os but from the works! and its another paper pieced one oh and I added some 'happy birthday' fastenater bars. TFL

Louise's new Cats

OMG have you seen the new download over at Charmed Cards & Crafts, these Cats are fantastic and designed by Louise of Dottie & George fame. Is there no end to this womans talent? I for one certainly hope not!

Anyway as for me ... well I've had a day feeling rather washed out and rather buggyfied full of coughs and sneezes so have spent the day doing not a lot but I did get round to backing up my photo and card files so not totally wasted I suppose! Fingers crossed I'll feel a bit more like doing something tomorrow especially as not back to work til Friday all being well.

Yes I'm back again today! Well someone did say it was addictive and they werent wrong, although I suspect the novelty will wear off eventually! Firstly I would like to say a big Thank you to all that have visited so far and left lovely comments, always appreciated, anyway I managed to make myself a header and wanted to give credit for the bits used so here goes, papers and elements are ShabbyPrincess freebie Promise kit with the addition of the flower pearl brads which are Raspberry Road Designs . Right now I must get on with some proper work but before I do I will just add the card that I made for DD last night to wish her well with her SATS this week. (I used Dottie Vet as thats what she wants to be.) Its a hybrid card using some early freebie download papers from before I knew I had to keep labels with everything, so if you see this and I've used your papers thank you very much and I'm sorry for not being able to acknowledge you properly.TFL

Ok time to add my first pic and its of a card made for the challenge on Dotties World and the challenge was I want you to make a card or layout using paper piecing on any Dottie or George image, but that's not all! I want you then to use the same paper as part of your card's background. The paper is downloaded from ScrapbookScrapbook and is their Wild Wild Animals. A great challenge and fun to do.
