Family Fun In The Sun

Just wanted to pop on and share a project I made for the progressive challenge over at SBS Friends.  This month there was a choice of images and I went with Beach Family and decided that rather than just making a card I made a little photo/scrap album.  The background is just a piece out of an old road atlas, I framed the image, which was coloured with copics and chameleons, to look like a Polaroid and added a stamped sentiment from PTI.  The little postcard is a print and cut with the Cricut, the film strip is a sizzix die cut, a couple of little wooden bits a sticker and fabric sticker added and all finished off with ribbons along the top.  Had fun with this.

For my card this week I have used a wonderful new 'Hipster' image from Simply B Stamps, coloured with Copics and Chameleons, I managed to cut the image and mat on the Cricut.  The paper is BG Urban Couture, the hibiscus tag was cut on the Cricut and the pineapple is a die cut with coordinating stamps.  The punched border is a MS punch and then I have finished off with some glamour dust added to the pattern on the paper.

Crafty Catz Challenge #434 ~ Anything Goes

The DT were very generously given some images to play along with and I have used 'Happy Times Beach Boy' coloured with copics and chameleons.  Paper is from Basic Grey 'Oh Baby' and teamed up with blue cs.  I decided to make an accordion card this week, using dies! The sentiment, anchor and bucket and spade are all cut using the cricut.  I inked around the image and added some blue gems to finish off.

Crafty Catz Challenge #420 ~ Anything Goes

For my project this week I used a large tag (8x4) and covered it in some Kimberly Hodges paper from K&Co. The image is 'For Mom' from Simply B Stamps and I have coloured with a mix of copics, chameleons and SN pencils then inked around the edge.  I've embellished with a pearl for her earring, some prima flowers, cricut cut leaves and some ribbon.  I may add a sentiment at a later date when I have decided who the recipient is.

Crafty Catz Challenge #419 ~ Anything Goes

At the moment my crafting time is very limited but I did manage a quick play with the Cricut Explore Air 2 and I treated myself to a yearly subscription of Cricut Access so there are LOTS of cuts to play with (almost too many to choose from!) Anyway I found this nice squirley Christmas tree and cut it out of black cs but before adding it directly to the card front I used the Cricut to write the sentiment.  So there you have it a very quick and simple card, hope you like it.

Crafty Catz Challenge #418 ~Anything Goes

Well hello, it's been a while since I last posted but I'm here to share my latest project with this weeks challenge over at Crafty Catz.  It's the turn of our fabulous Aunty Sue this week to host and our theme is 'Anything Goes' but if you would care to play along with Aunty Sue's optional twist this week it's 'Christmas in May' and we have an awesome sponsor this week too

The DT were very kindly given some images to play along with, I have used an image called Bug R Blocks.  I have recently acquired a Cricut Explore Air 2 and had a bit of a play.  Must say I am very impressed with it's capabilities, even after a very short play.  I have used it to cut the milk carton firstly in cs and then in the patterned paper.  I then took the image which comes as a block of 4 and after importing the image into the Cricut Design Space I printed it, the Cricut then scanned it and cut the blocks individually and perfectly, I certainly couldn't have done it so well by hand! lol I think I'm going to like this new machine!  Images are coloured using Chameleons and the box is closed with some ribbon.

This was such a fun project to make and I think there will be a few more of these made for the little gifts at Christmas.

Crafty Catz Challenge #413 ~ Anything Goes

Good morning it's my turn to host over at Crafty Catz this week and our theme is Anything Goes and I gave my fabulous teamies the twist of going Clean & Simple and boy oh boy have they worked their magic!  We are sponsored by the wonderful A Day For Dasies.

For my card I have used the adorable 'Camariere!' and just one of my favourite combos which is brown & blue, papers are all from the Cosmopolitan range from Making Memories.  The image is coloured with a mix of Chameleons and Copics with a hint of white gel pen. Various die cuts, Prima Got Flowers and gems and I finished off with a PTI stamped sentiment.  Now I'm hopeless when it comes to lining stamps up properly and I was given a Stamp-a-majig a while back and it has sat on my desk as I didn't have a clue how to use it, so I went looking on good ole YouTube and found lots of demos and it's now one of my favourite tools, it's so clever and I'm wondering why I just sat looking at it baffled for so long! lol It certainly helped me with the placement of this sentiment.

Summer Breeze Elena

Hello, just thought I'd pop on and post this easel Mother's Day card now as it has been received.  The image I have used is 'Summer Breeze Elena' by Simply B Stamps and she was the February freebie when you purchased $8 worth of images so unfortunately she is no longer available but I certainly was not going to miss out on her! I have coloured her using copics, papers from my stash, Prima Got Flowers, pearls and the sentiment is actually from another Simply B Stamps image called 'Bianca Hipster'  I kept the colours all neutral and I'm glad I did as I love how this turned out and so does my mum!
