Yellow

Today I'm sharing the first page in my art journal and I have used a beautiful image from Unky over at The East Wind.  She produced this image back in May and I have finally finished colouring it.  I challenged myself to use my SN pencils.  I had nearly finished it when the picture got creased and I couldn't bring myself to redo it so it sat here in my craft room just looking at me until I decided that by the time it was finished being coloured and then cut out the crease would no longer be visible and so I completed my colouring, I'm glad I did!

Unky gave the image away to those that requested it and all she asked for in return was that we share our completed image and raise peoples awareness about the Sewol Ferry Disaster that happened in April 2014 in South Korea, 304 people lost their lives and 250 of them were high school students on a school trip.  If you Google 'Sewol Ferry Disaster' you will find lots of information about it.  I don't recall hearing about it at the time and I have used the other page of my journal to write about it.

Whoo hoo, happy Friday everyone, I am enjoying a weeks leave and am down in Kent visiting my Mum & Dad, actually been here since Monday and heading back home tomorrow and as I'm sheduling this post I am sure we've been having a fabulous time!

I have used the wonderful image 'JJ Wine', she is coloured with a mix of markers and for the wine bottle I have coloured the wine with SN Sparkle pens then the bottle has been given some glossy accents along with JJ's glasses and drink, the wine label has also been coloured with SN Sparkle pens but I really can't get the sparkle to show in the photos.  The dotty paper is also glittered.  The flowers are stamped and embossed with Seafoam white and then die cut, the leaves are actually a feather die! lol and I added some dotty ribbon and stamped sentiment direct to the cs.

Meet Seeana

Have you joined 'Markers! Papers! Digis!' on Facebook yet?  Its awesome, so many talented people sharing their colouring and some awesome freebie images which I am so looking forward to playing with.  Unfortunately I haven't had as much crafting time as I would have liked recently so I am very behind but I finally managed to colour up and make a card using one of these fab freebies.  I have used 'Seeana' and she is by Faery Ink and is coloured with copics and I have used SN Sparkle pens to colour the water and add some sparkle to her hair and tail, the background and its mat are  cut on the Cricut using blue cs and blue mirriboard, the sentiment is a long forgotten stamp that I found when looking for something else and is by Paper Pretties.  Finished off with some flowers from Dovecraft and used some blue beads for the centers.Its really hard to show all the shine and sparkle in photos.

The tag is cut on the Cricut and text added by hand (shock horror! lol) I then added a key to the tag with some string.  My button is my flowerpot which is holding some sunflowers.  Now I just need to make an envelope as its a bit deep then I can get it off in the post!

Hi all, well here we are at Friday again, the week goes by so quickly, thankfully this is my weekend off actually my long weekend off as I'm off today as well. So for my card I have use 'One for You - Winnie Fruit Punch' and I have coloured this cutie using a mix of markers, pencils and some SN Sparkles.  The papers are all from a glittered paper pad from The Range, love the pink and green colour theme of them.The bows are a TH die cut and I added a pink buttons, the sentiment is a stamp and the die cut ribbon border is a new die I got just the other day when it happened to fall in my basket at Hobbycraft! A little bit of Mr Maker

Ok so I had a request from a work friend for a card for a 2 year old who is crazy about Mr Maker, who? says I! lol so anyway after a quick google I found said Mr Maker and his shapes so this is what I based the card on.  Shapes all cut on the Cricut, embossed the '2' and raised it on foam pads, also made an envelope as it ended up being unconventional in size! lol, just hope it fits the bill for her so fingers crossed.

And the DT were very kindly given some fantastic images to play along with.  I have used the very cute 'Bee Flower' and coloured with a mix of markers and added some Spectrum Sparkles to the body and wings of the bee, the body of the ladybug and to the petals of the flower, unfortunately the sparkle doesn't show up in the photo.  The funky summer paper is from Bearly Mine Designs, did a corner cut on the Cricut, stamped sentiment and finished off with a bee charm on some glittered yellow bakers twine.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

Over on TEW facebook page there is a mini colouring contest going on and there is a very special image which is only available to members of the Facebook group at a discounted price.  The image is 'Lucy Loo Coffee Aroma'.  I decided to challenge myself by going with red hair, I still struggle to find the right combinations.  So once I had finished colouring her I just had to make a card with her. I have used black cs and the paper is from a pad called Greatest Glory which I got from the Range. The black mat has been embossed with keys and behind that is a border cut using the Cricut.  I have embellished with skeleton leaves, a rolled paper flower and little key charm.

Going Postal

This months newsletter from The East Wind came with a fabulous freebie image called 'Fung La' and there is a challenge going on over at The East Wind Blog which is called 'Mail Art' so here is my interpretation.  I have used Portobello Road papers which I love, I have coloured 'Fung La' using copics for the skin and spectrum pencils for her hair.  I have embellished using a flower and leaves punched from the papers and a sentiment stamped from the same range.

Prost Vater!

Just wanted to share a card I was trying to make in time for the challenge over at Club KennyK Facebook page but unfortunately work got in the way last week so I didn't get it finished until today! The image is 'Old Time Bartender'  and it's teamed up with 'Wine Cellar' background both from Kenny K stamps, I got them as a bundle which also comes with 'Sophisticated Gentleman' these are great for male cards.  I printed the wine cellar directly on to Kraft card then coloured the bartender in a mix of markers and added some gold liquid pearls to his waistcoat and a touch of sparkle to his beer.  The sentiment is peeloffs and the banner is cut on the Cricut.  I love this guy he makes me think of German bierfests and this in turn makes me think of my Dad!  So what better way to celebrate Fathers Day (yes I know I'm early but at least it's made now! lol)
