Make it sparkle at Crafty Sentiments

Hello, it's Tuesday so that means it's time for a new challenge over at Crafty Sentiments and this week the theme is 'Make It Sparkle'. what fun and the fabulous prize is

So for my card I have used 'Snow Angel' this is such a fun stamp and wonderful to colour, I used a mix of copics and spectrums with glamour dust on her hat and all around on the snow.  I also added some glamour dust to the sentiment after I had coated it in diamond glaze.  Paper is Bearly Mine Designs and I added some glamour dust to that too on a few of the snowflakes, finished off with a snowflake brad and some gems.  So now it's over to you to share your sparkle with us.

a sparkly christmas

Glitter, glitter everywhere, think I even went to bed last night and twinkled!  Well what's a Christmas card without a little glitter?  I had fun making this one, background is from Bearly Mine Designs and then I layered the snowman from Kenny K on to it before printing.  Added colour to the snowman with spectrums then cut out the Santa's sleigh on the Cricut and added that then added copious amounts of glamour dust to the trees, the ground and the snowman before finishing off with ribbon along the bottom and mounted the whole thing on a festive green card base. Unfortunately the glitter doesn't show up very well in the picture but believe me it sparkles IRL! as do I now! lol

So onto my card and I'd like to share with the card that I made Ria for her 18th at the begining of the month(Can't believe my baby is 18!) and I'm pleased to say that she was very pleased it.  I have used the awesome Capt Locke from Kenny K coloured with copics and spectrums, papers are all Santoro as are the key and brad, numbers are die cut and added some metalic ribbon and funky fibres and the TH Weathered Clock sizzix die.

Working on my Christmas cards!

The nice thing about being off work and not being able to do a whole lot of the boring mundane stuff like HW is that I have had time to go through some of my older stash in my craft room and the digi stamps on my pc!  As a result I have put this Christmas card together using lots of old stash!  The image is 'Maurice Christmas Socks' from Pollycraft Designs, coloured him with spectrums and added stardust pen to the white stripes on his jumper, white flower soft to his hat and diamond glaze to his glasses.  I came across an old freebie cd too (dated 2012) and when I saw the Scandinavian Christmas papers I knew I wanted to use them and that's where I got my colour palette from.  I used a wavy blade in my rotary trimmer (don't get them out often enough either!lol) then added ribbon, bow, gems, die cut star, little wooden button, bakers twine and little wooden sentiment tag that has also been treated with diamond glaze.  I think the newest part of my card is actually the Kraft cs and I've had that for a few months too!  Enjoyed making this and adding all the different elements, hope you like it too.

Practising with my pencils

Just recently as my crafting has been a little limited I have been going through some of my older stash and stamps so this week I decided to use one of my old TGF stamps, I love the happy little face of this image and her spotty dress, I coloured her with a mix of copics and spectrums, the sentiment is also TGF, papers are Bearly Mine Designs.  I rolled the mat piece for some added dimension and finished off with some flowers, leaf, gem strand and glass butterflies.

Crafty Sentiments New Digi Release Day 2

Did you see the fabulous new digi stamps previewed yesterday over on the Crafty Sentiments Inspiration blog, weren't they fab?  Well today we have a couple more to share with you.  I have made my card using the cute 'Relaxing' and made quite a simple card. (crafting is still a bit limited due to my thumb surgery) but the great thing with digistamps is the ability to play around with positioning and resizing before printing.  For this card I chose the cloud background paper which is a digi one by Raspberry Road Designs, then I made the digistamp jpeg into a digistamp png file by removing the white background.  Once the white background was removed I placed the 'png' image ontop of the clouds and printed it off, I actually printed 2 so that I could make a mask and then added the balloon stamp which is also from Crafty Sentiments Designs, the image and balloons were then coloured with copics and spectrums, a banner die cut from JS, a red mat and a silver peeloff finished off the card.  This was a fun make with a fun new digistamp, I hope you like it and the other new digistamps which are now available to buy over at the Crafty Sentiments Design store, Happy Shopping!

Festive Florals with the Divas

Good Morning, well we certainly seem to be heading deep into autumn here in England, yesterday was a wonderful dry day but very blustery, great day to get washing dried on the line, almost too blustery, thought I might have to end up chasing the washing round the garden!  Anyway today sees the start of a new challenge over at Divas by Design and this week we're looking for festive florals and this week we are sponsored by 

So this week I really did rummage around in my old stash!  Glad I did as found this poinsettia stamp which (with Rias help) we cut several times so once coloured it could be layered up with foam pads, dp is also from a very old pad and just finished off with some ribbon and a bow.  Felt good to use some of my older stash, must keep rummaging! lol  Now it is over to you to share your festive florals with the Divas.

Just recently I was very lucky to get picked as a winner over at Not Just Cards and I won 3 Dilly Bean Images and here is a card I have made tonight with one of those images.  

Holly Girl Framed, I have coloured her with a mix of copics and spectrums, the background paper is from JS Victorian Christmas CD (and in order to find that I came across a whole heap of forgotten long stashed away stash! no longer stashed away! lol)  I then added some quikcutz holly leaves, white ribbon roses and red gems.

The Witching Hour draws nearer

Now I don't really do Halloween in a big way but always make a card or 2 that just stay in my box! But I love to have a play with the fabulous images and papers, so this year is no different plus it would be rude not to play along with all those Halloween challenges around!  Love the Halloween Fantasy papers from Bearly Mine Designs which I have used here and I teamed this one up with a fabulous KennyK image (she is actually an Elf Queen!) and gave her a nice bubbling cauldron of something green and sparkly!  The cauldron and gates are cut on the cricut and the bats are cut using a little die which I forget where it comes from and they are cut out of a scrap of black glitter card.  I had to take several photos to give the overall effect of the card and I have to say I am really pleased with how this turned out, hope you like it too.

A quick little Christmas card

Just thought I'd share this little Christmas card I made last night, which for me really didn't take very long and it worked just as I'd planned it in my head!  Now that don't happen too often! lol.

Anyway used a fabulous KennyK image coloured with spectrums, white gel pen and glitter, dp is MME (old pad!) stamped sentiment and finished off with some little red beads and bells.  Had to get Ria to thread the needle as I really couldn't, stupid what little things you take for granted, still cant hold a piece of paper in order to cut it with scissors so have to wait for Ria to be around for that too! lol

So for my card I actually had a commission for a Star Wars themed card for a young man who's favourite character is Darth Vader but I really couldn't find a suitable image that I liked enough to use so I kinda improvised and used this fabulous Saturated Canary image and went with black clothes and a red light saber like Darth Vader and after teaming him up with a downloaded image of the Death Star which was mounted on to a star embossed background and then I added some wide red ribbon and his name is a Star Wars font.  The lady I made the card for was very pleased, so hopefully, was the little lad.

Crafty Catz #280 ~ Autumn

Good Morning, well I remembered to shedule this weeks post!  and thankfully I had managed to get ahead with some of my DT work as I'm still struggling to get any proper crafting completed, but I'm cerainly trying! Lol.

So onto my card, well actually I made a large tag this week,  a while ago I bought a pack of large tags without really thinking about why, I liked the look of them and they only cost £2.50 and theres 25 of them.  Thought they'd be useful at some point! lol  Well when I saw the theme for this week and the wonderful pre coloured  image from Fred She Said I remembered some fabulous freebie papers from Bearly Mine Designs which included the recipe for pumpkin pie and my project was born!  I added some orange and green organza ribbon, some sunflowers and little wooden leaves and pumpkins that were originally glued to some ribbons I bought in Lidl, the little beaded sections were with the ribbon too.  Rather like how it turned out and am working on a Christmas Gingerbread one (slowly lol) think I might make a tag book of my favourite seasonal recipes as I go through the year ... watch this space!

M.I.A.

Hello all, sorry I've been M.I.A. recently, I had an operation on my thumb a week ago and I haven't been able to get into the craft room and unfortunately I didn't get my post sheduled for the Crafty Catz challenge on Friday so I thought I'd post it now, better late than never! lol

I decided to use one of the beautiful sentiment panels by our generous sponsor as the focal point of my card and I printed it directly on to some coloured cs (thumb was giving me trouble so no colouring was a tad easier! lol) and then I layered it wit dp and cs, the dp is from First Editions New Bloom pad.  I thend added some aqua organza ribbon, a bow and a fairy charm.  The base layer of dp is also foiled but I don't really think it shows in the picture.  So there you have it and I hope you will be able to join in with the challenge.

In the 20's

Just thought I'd pop on and share a card I've made using the gorgeous 'In The 20's' from The Paper Shelter.  I really should be concentrating on making Ria's birthday card but not easy when she is around and I want it to be a surprise especially as it's for her 18th in a weeks time.  Yes I know I still have a week but on Tuesday I go in to hospital for day surgery on my left thumb which will then result in being in plaster for 4 weeks and I'm also having an injection in my right thumb so looks like I'd better get on with it! lol

Anyway back to the card, it is a precut and scored card base which I have then used papers from First Editions Blank Canvas pad.  I used papers from the pad to paper piece her coat and hat and she is coloured using spectrums, all the flowers, leaves and butterflies are cut on the Cricut or punched using the same papers, the sentiment was cut on the Cricut and a couple of brads were added to the flowers.  Hope you like it.
